TL Note: EXTRA CHAPTER. Next week is back to regular schedule.

After leaving the Thunder-Lance Charge, Gharaga headed for the forests of his hotown. Having lost his mother and father in the Great Human-Demon War, Gharaga had been left on his own.

When other demons asked him why he was going back to his hotown after all these years, Gharaga himself could not give a clear answer. However, there was one thing he wanted to do.

(Even though there's not even a bone left of her body...)

Gharaga smiled wryly.

After his duel with Suzuki, he felt an overwhelming urge ------ to build a grave for Mimi.

(I wonder what I'll do after that.)

Gharaga, by virtue of his nature, did not get along well with other mbers of the basilisk race. Still, he thought it might not be a bad idea to stay in the village for a while.

As the familiar forest ca into view, Gharaga's sense of sll, keener than a human's, picked up on a certain stench.

Blood. And from his own race.

Gharaga approached, keeping a watchful eye out. He was surprised by what he saw from afar the basilisk village, only a short distance away from the forest.

Human soldiers were walking around the village. Not a single mber of the basilisk race was in sight.

(Hey, hey. Could it be that humans have conquered us?)

When he contrasted the current situation with the sll of his kindred blood that he sensed earlier, he reached that conclusion. However, things didn't add up. The Demon Lord's army had defeated the Empire and now controlled more than eighty percent of the world. He had not heard of any human offensive.

Paying close attention to his surroundings, he slowly headed toward the center of the village. Looking from the corner of a dilapidated hut, he saw a group of humans in armor standing in a line. It was as if they were about to invade.

"...There's still a basilisk breed out here?"

He heard a human voice from behind him, and Gharaga turned around. Three soldiers were standing there with tense expressions on their faces.

Gharaga clicked his tongue with a 'tsk'. Although he had been caught off guard by the impossible sight, it was rather imprudent of Gharaga, a forr Silver-rank, to be so careless.

The soldiers drew their swords simultaneously.

"That's a little dangerous, humans. But right now, I'm not in the mood."

He raised his hands to show that he had no hostile intent, but as if on cue, all three of them jumped at him.

Gharaga let out a sigh with a 'fuu'. Without taking a single step, he swung his tail in a circular motion. With that single movent, the soldiers went flying as if they had been hit with a powerful whip.

Gharaga raised his sharp claws in a threatening gesture.

"Next ti, I'll cut your throat."

"W--Who the hell, are you bastard?!"

"I'm Gharaga. Thunder-Lance Charge, Sssilver..."

He almost laughed when he called out his na. He had left the unit, he was no longer a Silver-rank soldier. Right, right. Because he had lost to that weak bastard. Ke-ke-ke-ke-ke-ke.

"Th--Thunder-Lance Charge...!"

"The special strike force under the direct command of the Demon Lord's army!?"

The soldiers backed away in fear. It seed that his usual habit of calling himself by such a na now paid off. Now he won't have to kill anyone.

"I just had so business to attend to. I'm leaving."

Gharaga was determined to walk away from those demoralized soldiers------ he wanted to.

"Lady Marguerite!"

Following the soldiers' gazes, Gharaga's narrow pupils widened. With her silver hair---tied back in a ponytail and swaying with the wind---there stood a sharp-eyed woman wearing silver armor that matched her hair.

(Since when, no, how...?)

It was not the sa as when the soldiers took his back because he was distracted earlier. He was in the middle of a battle with the soldiers. He was already highly aware and alert.

"This scum, is a soldier of the Thunder-Lance Charge!"

Upon receiving the soldiers' information, the woman nodded silently. Gharaga was also a veteran of over a hundred battles. He imdiately sensed that his opponent was no ordinary human being.

The woman drew her sword. The sword had such a gleam that made it clear at first glance that it was the work of a master.

"Don't do this. I, I've decided I'm not going to kill any humans for a while."

"... It's a good chance to see how well I could fare against a mber of the Thunder-Lance Charge."

The woman's voice had an icy coldness to it. So uncharacteristic of humans------ almost demon-like, Gharaga thought to himself.

(It's not, going to be easy to deal with her. I'll have to sacrifice an arm)

Gharaga looked at the woman seriously as if they were in a duel, and his claws beca sharp. The woman quietly opened her mouth again.

"Acceptance is preferred. A hero's, godly swordsmanship sent into this turbulent world."

"Huh...?"

The woman disappeared------ for a mont, he thought she had disappeared. Sohow, Gharaga followed the afterimage and looked behind him. The woman had already swung her sword.

"Divine Blade 'Mizzle'."

A series of sharp sounds were heard. When he looked at the woman, he saw that she had already placed her sword in its sheath.

(T--This gal... is she, human...?)

After his vision shifted as if he had been dropped from a great height, Gharaga looked at his arms and legs lying on the ground through his severed head.

Even after being decapitated, Gharaga, a mber of the basilisk race that boasted a strong life force, was still conscious.

He had never t such a strong human before. When he was in the Thunder-Lance Charge, he was in awe of Nephira's overwhelming strength, but this woman was just as strong... Or perhaps even stronger.

The woman with icy cold eyes walked up to him. Then, she raised her foot and crushed Gharaga's head without hesitation.

Gharaga's vision turned jet black. He was not afraid of dying. He would never have regrets when in combat.

However, his only regret was not being able to build a grave for Mimi.
