(The one who didn't understand was ! The way Suzuki utilizes Pritis... was the correct way to do it!)

Zhaviest continued to kick her, and Duma was no longer able to move. Her mouth was hanging open without even speaking as if all functions had ceased working.

"What's with this, piece of junk fiend? It's so weak. It's not worth using an angel—!"

While Laughing, Zhaviest swung his leg on a wide arc in an attempt to finally finish her off. However, Aina covered for Duma as if she were switching places with her.

"DON'T be so smug… about tornting a weakened demon…!"

"HUH—? This ti, you're going to get kicked instead of it? Up until a while ago, what do YOU think, has been happening?"

"You don't get it, do you? Neither you nor I! Had any idea WHATSOEVER! But you know what? Even this ignorant ... understands one thing for certain."

Aina cast her sharp, penetrating eyes on Zhaviest.

"You're not so kind of savior! You are neither a Hero nor a Champion! In this world! There is a power that can never hurt anyone! A power that doesn't require sothing like compensation, a power that doesn't require bloodshed! A genuine power, unlike sothing like yours! What will save the world is the Hero's———"

"Shut uu—pp. You'll die soon, skank."

Aina's head was stomped on so hard that dirt got into her mouth and she was unable to speak any longer.

◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇

Nephira crossed her arms and watched from a distance as Duma and Aina were assaulted by Zhaviest.

She was infuriated with Duma when she thought about the Suzuki incident, but Zhaviest spitting on the weak was also getting on her nerves.

She clicked her tongue, turned away, and looked at the giant crystal. She could see Serphiano looking a little impatient and apparently talking with the demon next to her.

"…eh? Suzuki has not gone back to Leirune? He took the dragon carriage heading to the Miremia Plains from the Demonic City?"

"Wha–!? Suzuki did!?"

She couldn't help but to speak out.

(Ugh… that child, why does he always refuse to listen to what I say…!)

Nephira bit her lip in a motherly manner.

(Geez, damnit Suzuki! But perhaps you were worried about my safety? You're so cute!)

From all the multiple giant crystals installed at regular intervals, Serphiano spoke at once.

"All demons in the Miremia Plains are hereby notified! Suzuki may appear on the battlefield! If you spot him, please under no circumstance let him head for the front lines!"

Serphiano's face was serious. She must have reflected on the fact that Duma had kidnapped Suzuki because she had invited him to the demonic city. Nephira also gave an order to the Thunder-Lance Charge soldiers that had been rallied.

"You guys! Don't let Suzuki through no matter what!"

Everyone nodded in agreent. Kiru smacked herself with a "don" on her modest chest.

"I'll put up a barricade around the periter! I have to make sure Suzuki lives a long life!"

"Hu-huh"

Nephira looks over behind towards the Thunder-Lance Charge soldiers. The demons were assembling in droves. Following Serphiano's orders, all of these demons will not let Suzuki pass through.

"There are no gaps for even ants to crawl in! Suzuki will now be safe!"

Nephira nodded in agreent and felt relieved at Kiru's words. Suzuki will never find his way to this place. The problem was…

Nephira shifted her gaze forward. Angels, more nurous than the number of demons behind her, were gathering around Zhaviest, covering the horizon.

"All troops, thank you for your patience."

Suddenly, the imposing voice of Serphiano reached Nephira's ears.

"Enemy analysis has been completed."

(At last, Serphiano is making her move, huh? Looks like you finally finished your preparations for battle, didn't you?)

The voice coming from the giant crystal which Serphiano was speaking from, sounded to Nephira as if Serphiano was speaking directly in front of her.

"Imperial Decree! The special attack unit under the direct command of the Demon Lord's Army, the Thunder-Lance Charge! Take the vanguard, and OFFER YOUR LIVES to the Demon Lord!"

"…With pleasure!"

Serphiano said that she had completed her analysis of the enemy. She thought her odds against the angels were sufficiently favorable. However, at the sa ti, she gave an unusual command ——— "OFFER YOUR LIVES."

Serphiano's third eye was foreseeing the sa or maybe even greater casualties as in the last major war. Certainly, Nephira herself recognized the dreadful power of Zhaviest.

"…Lady Nephira."

Kiru muttered in a whisper. She had a serious expression on her face, which she usually would not show.

"This, our troops... more than half will die, right?"

"Yeah. It has been a while since our last battle to the death. Scared?"

"Are you joking?! I'm really getting PUMPED!"

Saying this, Kiru brandished her beloved scythe. Her face was a mixture of tension and excitent. Nephira also felt her own body sweating.

(Fufu. I'm getting pumped up too. The demon's saga, perhaps.)

Nephira stared at their target.

(It's so loneso that I won't be able to et Suzuki anymore after I die. However, as a demon, I can't suppress the instinct I was born with. Combat against formidable enemies… The thirst for battle… Impulses of life and death… The excitent makes my body hot.)

Then she rembered.

(If Suzuki were to find out about this, he would hate us.)

Still, the corners of Nephira's mouth spontaneously rose.

After showing a grin and a devilish smile for a brief mont, Nephira gave out an encouraging proclamation to the soldiers in the Thunder-Lance Charge.

"Let's march! On our corpses will be built the victory of the Demon Lord's Army!"

The roaring bellows of her comrades echoed across the plains.
