deia didn’t understand what was going on, but Lucian and the weird masked man seed to know each other.

"Don’t pretend we were close." Lucian sneered at him, "Traitor."

Ohh ... Drama.

deia could sll sothing fishy between them and couldn’t wait for the tea to spill itself.

"Traitor? I tried to save you, but you wouldn’t understand." He spoke without regret. "Your mother—"

"Don’t talk about my mother with your filthy mouth." Lucian stepped forward. "You sold my mother to the bandits!"

Okay, deia was kind of lost in this situation. Who was this idiot anyway? And what exactly had he done to Lucian in the past?

’Hey, system, can you give any information about them?’ deia asked in her mind.

[The system can only provide a brief explanation of their situation]

[But Host must pay the price]

deia groaned inwardly. The system had asked her to be a kind person, but it had robbed her every chance it got.

’How much?’

[Only 1,000 gold coins for today, Host!]

[If you refuse today’s offer, you will have to pay the normal price of 2,000 next ti]

It was a daylight robbery!

The system had never even given her a discount!

She didn’t want to spend so many gold coins after spending 10,000 gold coins earlier, but she really wanted to know the context of their conversation.

’Okay, I’ll trade 1,000 gold coins for their information.’

deia might have cried a little when she saw her balance later, for she had earned those gold coins with sweat and tears—no, maybe just sweat.

The point was that the system was a ducking robber!

[Proceed the transaction ...]

[Provide the brief information of Lucian and the Stormclad leader’s background]

[Jas Black was Sheila Charon’s assistant who happened to be in the Charon family ho when the apocalypse began]

[As the world beca more dangerous and they had trouble finding food, Jas made a deal with bandits to trade Lucian’s mother for gasoline and so canned food]

[Lucian tried to find Sheila, but the only thing he found was her naked, lifeless body on the side of the road]

[He killed the bandits one by one, forcing them to tell him where to find Jas]

[Beep—the system needs another 100 coins to continue the story]

deia almost scread out loud as the system tried to get more coins from her.

The system didn’t even give the information in detail at all.

It was a scam!

[Host, please pay more gold coins~]

’No! I don’t want to give you any more gold coins!’

Besides, deia had already seen the big picture of why Lucian hated Jas so much.

The man was a total bastard, and deia couldn’t wait to devour his filthy soul.

"Lucian," deia whispered to him, pouring more fuel into his heart. "He was going to force to be his wife."

She hid behind her back, pretending to be afraid. "His n told I had to bear his children if I wanted to stay alive."

Lucian gritted his teeth and shouted at Jas, "You ... how dare you capture a woman and force her to carry your children?!"

"For years I tried to find you, but you hide your identity so well that I didn’t even know you were the leader of Stormclad." Lucian walked towards him. "But no more hiding, Jas. I’ll never let you run away again today."

Ja laughed at him. "You’re too confident of yourself, boy."

A ton of thunder struck the sky as the great storm suddenly appeared in the canyon. His eyes glowed with a dangerous light as he raised his hands to the darkening sky. Within monts, fierce winds swirled around him, whipping up dust and debris.

"I’m not as weak as I used to be, boy," Jas said, his voice barely audible over the growing storm.

"But you look weak in that wheelchair," he continued, "I should have cut off your arms as well."

Jas growled. He thrust his arm forward and sent a bolt of lightning at Lucian. The bolt sizzled through the air, its blinding light reflecting off the canyon walls.

Lucian’s hand shot up, and with a sharp flick of his fingers, the bolt veered off course, slamming into a nearby boulder and shattering it into flaming fragnts.

deia watched the scene in awe. It looked like they could destroy the canyon in a second, but they decided not to, because the springs would be gone as well.

The n behind Jas began to move forward to attack Lucian as well. deia thought she would be a burden if she stayed there, so she decided to do sothing else instead.

"Lucian, I’m going to hide in a safe place for a while!"

Lucian turned his head to her and spoke in a soft tone. "Don’t go too far and be careful, okay?"

deia smiled. "Okay."

She climbed onto the wolf’s back and asked him to go behind the debris. "Bear, can you find soone for ?"

The wolf howled in reply, so deia held a white mask up to its nose. "Please, find the owner of this mask."

She had no desire to help weak people, but the system would probably give her more C-points if she tried to act like a good person.

Not long after that, the wolf started running to the back of the base. Everyone had gone to protect their leader, so deia didn’t see any hunters there.

She thought Bear was going to enter the base through the back door, but the wolf suddenly stopped out of nowhere.

"Why are you stopping?"

Bear lowered his head and pawed at the ground beneath his legs. deia jumped down from his back and saw a round tal door on the ground.

"An underground tunnel?" deia corrected her question, for the door seed to be in daily use. "A bunker ... maybe?"

If it was indeed a bunker, it explained why deia hadn’t seen any won on the base.

The n probably locked them in an underground bunker so they couldn’t escape easily.

"Help lift the door." deia twisted the seal in the door with difficulty, then lifted it with the wolf’s help.

deia saw a vertical staircase to the bunker, but she couldn’t see anything because it was too dark inside.

"I’m going down, but you can’t co with ."

The wolf nudged deia’s hand with his muzzle because Bear didn’t want her to co down alone.

"You’ll get stuck if you co down with ." deia held the wolf’s head, then reassured him, "Listen to , you have to wait here for and make sure no one cos down, okay?"

The bear barked once in response. deia smiled at the wolf and patted his head. "Good boy. If a man cos, you can bite his neck or eat him, but don’t kill him, because I want to eat his soul."
