deia splashed water onto his face and let out a soft chuckle. "Water and sand are not great combinations. It’s not rocket science."

She said it casually, but there was an undeniable mockery in it. She didn’t even need to use her demonic skills or summon her abyssal sword because this wasn’t a real fight, but it was just a warm-up. Both of their abilities were Grade-B, after all.

She cracked her knuckles, then tilted her head with a slow, eerie grin. "Since you refuse to make a deal with , that ans ..." Her blue eyes darkened. "All of you will beco my dinner."

Despite deia’s delicate appearance, sothing about her sent an instinctive warning through their bones. Every nerve scread at them to run.

And yet, their pride wouldn’t let them.

Instead of retreating, they pulled out their weapons, from a butcher knife to rifles.

deia whistled softly and clicked her tongue. "Tsk, tsk ... You even brought guns?" She turned her head toward Lucian, batting her lashes dramatically. "Honey, I’m scared of bullets."

Lucian understood her imdiately. "Do you want to take their guns?"

"No." deia’s lips curled into a wicked smiled, laughing like a demon. "I want you to make them feel desperate."

[Host, you—]

"Oh, co on, they’re bad guys. I can torture them a little, right?"

[Please tone down your ’torture,’ Host.]

deia rolled her eyes but didn’t argue back. The bandits exchanged confused glances as they watched her talking to herself.

"Is she insane?" one of them whispered.

"She looks crazy, right? What kind of woman walks toward a fight instead of running away?"

"Maybe she’s just that desperate to co with us," another sneered.

Sexism. Sexism. Sexism everywhere.

deia’s smile widened. "Oh, boys," she murmured. "You just made this so much more fun."

Could people stop making comnts based on gender? deia was getting tired of this nonsense. It was always the sa—n underestimating her just because she didn’t have big muscles like a mindless monster.

She glanced at Lucian, who looked ready to throw a punch. But she raised a hand, stopping him.

"Alright, I’m done playing." She pulled out her venom dagger, twirling it between her fingers. "I’d like to sleep under my new blanket soon, so let’s not waste any more of my ti."

One of the bandits let out a laugh, his voice filling with mockery. "A dagger? What the hell are you gonna do with that, sweetheart—"

Before he could finish, the dagger was already embedded in his forehead. A perfect hit. His body dropped instantly, his expression still frozen in disbelief.

deia clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Tch. What a waste of a soul."

"Jared! You—you killed him!" one of the n shouted, stumbling back in shock.

She rolled her eyes. "Obviously. What, did you think I’d let him live after running his mouth like that?" Then, her gaze turned to Sharon, who was still bound and gagged in the back. "Besides, I have a little revenge to take for what you did to my friend."

Well, that was a lie. Sharon wasn’t her friend. deia just needed an excuse to kill them all.

Panic rippled through the group, and in desperation, they raised their guns and opened fire.

The bullets never reached her.

Mid-air, they stopped, hovering as if ti itself had frozen them in place.

Then, with a flick of his wrist, Lucian sent them all flying back.

Screams erupted as the bullets tore through their own flesh, ripping into arms, legs, and shoulders. None of the shots were lethal, just enough to incapacitate them, to let them feel the fear of knowing their lives were slipping away.

deia smiled, pleased that Lucian knew exactly what to do.

Without hesitation, she darted forward—faster, sharper—her movents effortless thanks to the Blessing of Resilience. The bandits fired at her in desperation, but their bullets never even grazed her.

Realizing their guns were useless against her, one of them pulled out a makeshift bomb, hurling it in her direction.

Big mistake.

The mont it neared her, the bomb suddenly halted in midair—then reversed course, hurtling straight back toward the man who had thrown it.

A deafening explosion followed.

"AAARGH! MY LEGS! MY LEGS ARE GONE!" The man’s agonized screams filled the night as he collapsed, his lower limbs now nothing but scattered flesh and bone. Panic overtook him as he clawed at the ground, desperately trying to crawl away.

deia barely spared him a glance. She yanked her dagger from another corpse’s forehead, then, with a flick of her wrist, sent it soaring straight into the back of the wounded man’s neck.

[Activation Skill: Soul Eater]

Just as he let out his final, choked gasp, deia reached out, prying his jaw open. A faint silvery mist seeped from his lips, swirling and condensing into a small, glowing white pearl in her palm.

[You have killed an evildoer: 120 XP, 25 coins.]

deia swallowed the soul without hesitation, running her tongue over her lips as a slow, eerie smile spread across her face. Her gaze swept over the remaining n like a predator savoring the fear in its prey.

The more they looked at her, the more their instincts scread at them to run.

There was sothing terribly wrong about that smile. It was too wide, too unnatural—like she wasn’t just enjoying this, but relishing it.

[You have harvested a soul: 70 XP, 15 coins.]

"What the fuck is she?!"

"She just ate sothing that ca out of his mouth!"

deia released the lifeless body from her grasp, letting it slump onto the bloodstained dirt with a sickening thud. Then she tilted her head, enjoynt flickering in her darkened eyes.

"Oh, don’t be scared, silly boys" She said in a playful tone, "You’ll all be my dinner soon enough."

A wave of panic settled over them.

Escape. They had to run.

But as if fate itself had sealed their doom, their motorcycles suddenly wrenched into the air as though lifted by invisible hands.

The bandits barely had ti to process what was happening before the vehicles were hurled back down with force, crumpling like discarded toys.

Their only way out was gone.

And then, deia moved.
