[You even have an almost perfect future husband!]

’Other people probably have systems that help them survive, not find a husband,’ deia sighed. ’A system like you should’ve appeared in a more peaceful world ... and I should’ve been reincarnated into one too.’

[But you wouldn’t have t Lucian if you had reincarnated into another world.]

The system’s words finally silenced her.

What was the point of being reborn into a safer, more comfortable world if it ant never eting Lucian?

’Maybe this place isn’t so bad after all.’

[...]

"The viruses might be dangerous, but the dicines could be useful for a greater good. However, we need a cold storage room to keep them," deia mused. "We might have to collect more permafrost soil and create a proper cooling room for the dicine."

"Until then, we can leave the dicine here and co back later using teleportation."

As long as deia could use the mystical compass, they wouldn’t have to face the countless monsters lurking outside.

"Sounds good to ," Lucian agreed.

After locking up the dicine room, they moved to the next one. As soon as deia pushed the door open, she was greeted by shelves packed with military rations and ergency food supplies—enough to last for at least twenty years.

It wasn’t the usual canned food she had seen before. Instead, the als were vacuum-sealed in special packages and neatly stored inside sturdy buckets, designed to withstand ti.

She read through the list. "Pasta Alfredo, tomato soup, cheesy macaroni... blah, blah, blah." deia’s eyes sparkled. "Aren’t these all dishes from the modern human world? Humans keep saying this kind of food tastes amazing. Is that true?"

Ever since deia had revealed her true identity, Lucian couldn’t help but notice how she always talked about humans as if she weren’t one of them.

"They call these ’doomsday buckets.’ I’ve tried them before, and yeah, they’re actually pretty good." Lucian grabbed one of the ergency food buckets from the shelf. "I know you’ll like this."

Mutant at dishes were decent, but deia had always been curious about processed foods from the modern world, als that actually had seasoning and flavor.

Most of the ergency food she had co across so far was canned food—especially canned beans—and she hated those with every fiber of her being.

"Look! I also found a mini stove." deia’s voice was filled with excitent. "We can totally camp here and then head back to the base with the compass." She suddenly smacked her forehead as she rembered sothing. "Wait! Bear is still in the forest! He must be worried sick about us."

The wolf was probably still wandering around, trying to find a way to reunite with them.

"We need to get out of here soon," deia said. "The supernatural being told there’s a way out, but I doubt it’ll just hand over that information."

"Don’t worry," Lucian reassured her. "I saw a map in the lab, and there’s an ergency staircase near the elevator."

The stairs were vertical, which ant climbing up was going to be an absolute pain.

deia sighed. "Should we check the last room before we go?"

Lucian nodded. Unlike the other rooms, this one had no window on the door, aning deia couldn’t peek inside. She had no idea if it even had power like the others.

Unlike the other rooms that could be unlocked with a key, the last door seed to require a nuric code.

"Whoever built this definitely didn’t want anyone else knowing what’s inside," deia muttered. "Can you open it? The lock looks more complicated than the ordinary ones—no, forget it. Don’t use your ability anymore."

His face was already pale, and deia couldn’t bring herself to let him drain any more of his energy.

"I’ll try to find the code," Lucian offered, looking slightly guilty.

"No need." deia smashed the lock with her sword. "Why waste ti searching for numbers when brute force works just fine?"

Lucian had no argunt against that. Honestly, it was the fastest way to get the door open.

deia pushed the door open, and the lights flickered on, revealing an array of weapons on the walls and stored on racks. However, those didn’t look like ordinary guns.

The weapons were sleek, painted white, and appeared much lighter than standard firearms. Curious, deia grabbed one from the wall and peered through the rifle scope. Her eyes widened in surprise—it was incredibly accurate and stable, even though her hands were slightly shaky.

These guns were clearly more advanced than conventional ones.

She then checked the magazine and found small bullets that looked like tiny tubes filled with a glowing red liquid.

[Achievent Unlocked: Found an Anti-Mutant Serum.]

[Reward: 1,300 XP]

deia imdiately put the gun down and pulled Lucian out of the room. "Get out! Get out now and don’t touch that red thing!"

Lucian was puzzled, not understanding why deia was suddenly so freaked out. "What’s wrong?"

"These ... These are the anti-mutant serums! That’s why you have to stay away from them!" deia slamd the door shut, but because she had broken the lock earlier, it wouldn’t close completely, no matter how many tis she tried.

"I have to destroy all of these," deia said, her voice firm. "No, the serum might contaminate everything it touches. What should I do? Burn them? Maybe I can burn the serum?"

No, the smoke could be dangerous for Lucian, too.

deia groaned inwardly. Her hatred for the researchers only deepened as she realized they had created sothing that could threaten Lucian’s life.

"deia, calm down." Lucian placed a hand gently on her shoulders. "We don’t even know if the serum actually works or not, so—"

"So what? I’d rather destroy it all than take the risk!"

But she knew she couldn’t just destroy it without thinking through the consequences.

"We can try it on a monster and see how the serum reacts," Lucian suggested.

"And then what?" deia snapped. "We can’t just destroy it or toss it around."
