It had been several days since my discharge from the hospital.

As if the whole courage test incident had been a dream, the sky was clear and the weather was bright.

I sat across from Noah, the senior, and Eastern, discussing the events from the other day.

When I explained in detail what I had experienced that day, Eastern asked with a puzzled expression.

“Blue eyes? A birdcage? I have no idea what that ans.”

Noah shook his head as well.

“I saw the blue eyes that day, but I don’t know what they were either.”

If even Noah didn’t know, it ant that no one knew the true nature of what we had encountered.

“Hm. I’ll contact the Lauderdale family and see if anyone knows sothing. Soone might have so information.”

Eastern replied. The Lauderdale family was said to be an ancient shaman family, so it was possible that soone might have knowledge about it, as he suggested.

Noah nodded in agreent.

“Do you think incidents like this will happen again? There has never been a rumor of this scale before, has there?”

“No, there hasn’t. This is the first ti sothing this large-scale has happened. The students were trapped in the other world together....”

At Eastern’s answer, Noah furrowed his brows and spoke with a worried expression.

“It’s an ominous sign. I hope the scope doesn’t expand further from here.”

This was the first ti I had seen Noah say sothing like that. It was unsettling to think that even Noah seed worried.

The idea that the scope could expand further sent chills down my spine.

If it were to spread beyond this... would it encompass the whole school? Or even the entire island?

Whatever it was, it was a thought I didn’t want to entertain.

“For now, we should each investigate what we can and share anything that cos up.”

At Noah’s words, we all nodded in agreent.

The atmosphere in class F was chaotic, all because of the courage test incident.

The teachers, even after hearing about the incident, didn’t believe it.

They seed to think it was just a rebellion by the students, so they were busy scolding them.

After the regular classes ended, and as I was about to leave for the day, soone ca to the front of our class.

The students all murmured and stared at the two n who ca looking for .

“lody. The Dean is looking for you, so you’ll have to co with us.”

The ones who called were Father Miella, the disciplinary committee advisor, and Western, an upperclassman.

At that, the students from my class drew in their breath and crowded around .

“No way, Hastings is in the disciplinary committee?”

“Well, it’s true that the disciplinary committee position was vacant after Lady Airose dropped out last year.”

“Right, so of course Hastings would be the one to fill the spot. I didn’t think of that until now.”

“I’m jealous. Could you get Western’s autograph for ?”

“I want Father Miella’s....”

I stood in front of the classroom door, looking at my friends with an embarrassed expression.

Hey, everyone, the people you’re talking about are right behind . Why not just ask them directly? You must have heard everything by now.

“What are you doing? Hurry up and co out. We don’t have ti.”

At that mont, Western, who had half-opened the door, stuck his head out.

The girls scread. When the Student Council President had appeared, they had only looked at him in awe, but this ti their reactions were a bit different.

When Western shot them an irritated look, ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) they scread even louder.

“The Dean is waiting. Let’s go.”

Western grabbed the hem of my clothes. Before I knew it, I was being led down the hallway by him.

I looked at Father Miella and Western, who didn’t offer any explanation, and asked.

“Why did the Dean suddenly want to see ?”

“Hmm, not sure. I guess we’ll find out when we get there.”

Father Miella replied. It seed he didn’t know why the Dean wanted to see either.

Then, Father Miella casually spoke up.

“By the way, Hastings, you seem to be getting along a little too well with the Student Council mbers.”

“Oh, that...”

I hesitated, unsure how to respond, but before I could think of anything, Father Miella gave an unexpected answer.

“Well, that’s fine. Keep getting along with them.”

“Really?”

Father Miella nodded silently with an unreadable expression.

Western also gave Father Miella a quick, perplexed glance.

Then he changed the subject.

“The reason the Dean called you is probably because the student bulletin board has been noisy. I’m guessing it has sothing to do with the article that Oliver Henswicks wrote about the courage test incident.”

The student bulletin board? Gloria Weekly?

I furrowed my brow, unsure what had been said, but Western explained.

While I was in the hospital, the student bulletin board had been in an uproar, and Oliver Henswicks had written an article about the events of the courage test.

It seed the Dean had called in because of that. All the attention was on , after all.

Anyway, as we were talking, we arrived in front of the Dean’s office.

Father Miella knocked and said,

“Dean, it’s Father Miella Asil Louis.”

I learned Father Miella’s full na for the first ti.

Now that I think about it, the café owner also had the last na Louis.

“Co in.”

A dignified and heavy voice ca from inside.

I had seen the Dean before, but eting soone in power always made nervous, and this ti was no different.

I swallowed dryly and followed Father Miella and Western into the Dean’s office.

The Dean was sitting at his desk, working on so docunts. He didn’t even look at us.

The air inside was suffocating.

Father Miella and Western stood in front of the Dean’s desk, and I quietly stood behind them.

It felt like they were protecting . It was probably true that they had stepped forward to do so.

The Dean didn’t look up until a long ti passed. Finally, he took off his glasses and lifted his head.

With his white hair slicked back stylishly, the Dean still exuded an austere aura.

He fiddled with his white mustache and stared at us silently before finally speaking.

“The reason I’ve called you here, you must know better than anyone.”

I didn’t really understand.

But I nodded, guessing that it was probably sothing Father Miella and Western had ntioned earlier.

Then the Dean called by na.

“lody Hastings.”

“Yes?”

“I had high expectations for you, since you scored full marks on the transfer exam. But to cause such a commotion right after transferring... I’m already disappointed.”

The Dean clicked his tongue, took out a pipe, inserted a cigarette, lit it with a lighter, and put it in his mouth.

As the cigarette burned, smoke filled the air.

Western pushed back so that the smoke wouldn’t reach .

The Dean spoke again.

“Tell , Father Miella, should I just sit idly by while the school is filled with childish nonsense about ghosts and such?”

“I’m sorry.”

“After the midterm exams this sester, you’re aware that the Gloria Island opening event will take place, right? The Pope and the Crown Prince will be attending in person, so you must be aware.”

Opening event for the island? I had never heard of such a thing before. At that mont, Father Miella nodded in agreent.

“Yes. I’m aware.”

“Behave yourselves. Because Louis will be visiting during the event.”

When the Louis family was ntioned, Father Miella’s face contorted in a way I couldn’t quite understand.
