After all, Jake is also the protagonist but the treatnt between the two was too different.

He wanted to ask more but looking in the VIP ward he couldn't help but be stunned.
This VIP ward, though not like Helen's futuristic one filled with tubes and stuff on the wall, was still money that could be bought for normal people.
His gaze first fell on Liza who was facing the door looking at Xia Yan. He at first wanted to ask what happened but stopped seeing the helpless tired look of Liza.
Liza's eyes lit up seeing him entre and she wanted to rush in her favorite person's arms but stopped looking at Gloria then back at him with pitiful almost crying eyes.
He normally just went and squeezed her cheeks to bully her a little as payback for all the ti she used to bully him in the Winchester house but he did not do it.
Because his eyes fell on the beautiful back of Xia Yan, showing off her child bearing hips, even her white doctor coat couldn't help but to hide her elegantly curvy figure.
Then he looked at the "sleeping" Gloria then couldn't help but shake his head.

Alex just smirks looking at Gloria sideways as she asks Liza directly.
How can he not see the issue here? This was nothing but a normal plot, Liza wanted to do sothing dically to Gloria, Xia Yan was having none of it quoting do no harm or sothing in that line.
Normally at this point the protagonist would jump back up Liza then there was a normal faceslap plot, gaining favorability of Lisa and Gloria directly.
Unfortunately for the protagonist that plot is not gonna happen, Nathan is bed ridden so he can't even move while these girls are already in his harem.
Hence Xia Yan would have won their banter here.
As for what is wrong with Gloria? She is just too ashad to face others.
With his LV 10 dicine skill he got after raiding Xia Yan can clearly see Gloria is completely fine, Rather she was more healthy than she ever was in her whole life.
Maybe Gloria is just struggling with sharing a man with her own daughter. That is why she simply decided to sleep her way through to avoid eting her daughter.
