No, no, no. Impossible. Absolutely impossible.

Thinking about that possibility, Eric Vaughn shook his head wildly. He buried his face in his pillow, refusing to face this cruel world.

'I like won, beautiful won!' he scread inwardly. 'There's no way I could possibly like... guys.'

A cold sweat broke out on Eric Vaughn.

But once an idea like that pops into your head, the more you try to push it away, the more it digs in, refusing to leave. Just thinking about it was terrifying.

Still, getting to know him over this ti, aside from being gay, the buff guy Mike wasn't actually that bad.

Mike had told him he owned a decent-sized gym and had even started a club that was basically a hangout for gay guys.

On the surface, it sounded normal. But after spending ti together, stuck in the sa hospital room, Eric Vaughn realized Mike's background was way more complicated than he let on.

Hardly anyone visited Mike usually. But when people did co, it was always a group of rough-looking young guys dressed unconventionally, covered in tattoos. They'd call Mike 'Boss' and talk about 'turf' – clearly not good people.

Mike's identity definitely wasn't simple. Eric guessed Mike was probably involved with a Mafia. If that was true, his power might be equal to Alex's, maybe even greater.

After all, Alex was just a useless rich kid, a regular businessman. And even soone rich father wouldn't dare go head-to-head with a Mafia boss, right?

But even if Mike's background wasn't simple, so what? Just so Mafia boss. Eric Vaughn didn't think much of him.

How tough could a Mafiareally be? Could he be stronger than his masters? No way.

His masterMaster could probably take out soone like Mike silently, with just one finger.

"So, have you thought about it, Eric?" Mike leaned back casually on his bed, taking a drag from a cigarette. He glanced at Eric, whose back was turned. "I see a lot of potential in you, but my patience isn't endless. This is your last chance. Don't regret missing it."

His patience really was wearing thin.

Ever since Eric Vaughn arrived in this room, Mike had seen that he had a real knack for... that sort of thing. He'd been trying to persuade Eric ever since, offering all sorts of benefits and promises.

When had he, Mike, ever treated soone like this before?

If Eric Vaughn still refused, well... he might have to resort to so less pleasant thods. Mike rubbed his clean-shaven chin with one hand.

A forced lon isn't sweet, but it sure quenches the thirst of thirsty person!

"No—" Eric Vaughn started to refuse, but the word died on his lips. He swallowed it back down.

Even though he looked down on Mike's status and power, right now, contacting his masters was going to be difficult.

This was Alex's territory. That bastard would definitely have people watching him 24/7. Trying to send a letter out? Not much chance. No, basically zero chance.

He hadn't known for sure before, but now he understood. This hospital belonged to Alex. All the doctors here were paid by Alex; they all followed his orders.

That explained why those five idiot doctors tornted him every single day.

He was watched by countless eyes here.

But if it were Mike's people... that might work.

As soon as his masters got his ssage, they would definitely co down from the mountain to save him. And when that happened, that damn Alex, that idiot gay Mike – they could all get the hell out of his way.

Alex, he thought fiercely, I swear I'll get revenge for this, or I'm not even human!

The two won he'd cared about most... Alex had snatched them both away. And this miserable state he was in now? It was all thanks to him.

Mike smiled. "Go on, say it."

"Help send a letter."

Mike paused, then asked uncertainly, "Just... send a letter?"

Eric Vaughn nodded.

That simple? Eric Vaughn's request completely threw Mike off.

He'd expected Eric to ask him for revenge, like finding the person who frad him and giving them a taste of their own dicine, sothing like that.

Mike had already figured out his plan. He'd agree first, then have soone check out who was ssing with Eric Vaughn. If getting revenge was easy enough, he'd go all out.

If it wasn't worth the trouble... well, by then, he'd have already gotten what he wanted from Eric. Who cares about a promise made at the beginning?

Feelings can grow over ti, right?

Mike agreed instantly. "Okay, I promise."

It was just sending a letter. How far could it possibly need to go? It wasn't like he had to cross the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans to deliver it to penguins in the Arctic, right?

Eric Vaughn, still lying face down on the bed, wrote on a piece of paper using the secret assassin code his Master had taught him. He handed it to Mike. "As long as this letter gets there safely, I'll definitely consider your offer."

"Address?" Mike asked.

The paper wasn't folded, but the writing on it was crooked and ssy. You could barely even call it writing. Mike had finished middle school, he knew his characters, and he was sure this wasn't Chinese script, nor was it English.

It was all squiggly, like so kind of weird charm scribbled by a ghost.

Don't tell it needs to go overseas?

"Not far, it's just..." Eric Vaughn gave him an address. It wasn't too far from city, just one province over.

Mike asked curiously, "Isn't that in the mountains?"

The address was the na of a small town. An old farr in that town was an informant for his masterMaster. That farr was the recipient Eric gave; it was one of the ways his masters told him to contact them before he left the mountain.

"Wonder if planes even fly there," Mike muttered, carefully folding the paper. He then sent a ssage to one of his guys, telling him to co to the hospital, pick up the letter, and deliver it.

"Thanks," Eric said simply.
