So hours ago,

Mo Ying had stepped out of his study. The sky was already turning dark, and for the first ti in a long while, the quiet of the evening didn’t pull him back into his cold solitude. Instead, he found himself wanting no, needing, to see Lin Xu.

Ever since Lin Xu entered the Mo residence, sothing in Mo Ying had shifted. Normally, he never left his study or his room unless absolutely necessary.

But now... now he felt relieved knowing there was soone he could lean on when he was tired. Soone he could tease and play with when he was bored. Soone who made him feel alive again.

What more could any man want?

A faint smile touched the corner of his lips as he started walking, until a maid hurried toward him.

"Young master," she said, bowing slightly, "the First Lady would like to et with you."

Mo Ying’s expression darkened imdiately. His steps slowed, his brows tightening into a sharp frown. He didn’t want to see San Na. Not now. Not ever, honestly. He only wanted to see his Lin Xu.

"No," he said flatly.

The maid flinched but quickly bowed again. "Please, young master... she said it was urgent. She specifically requested your presence. Just a mont, please."

Mo Ying closed his eyes, irritation stinging through him. He exhaled a tired breath.

"...Lead the way."

The maid bowed gratefully and began walking ahead. She led him to one of the old houses behind the main residence, quiet and untouched for years. Mo Ying had no idea why San Na wanted to et him in such a place, but he didn’t care; he just wanted the whole thing over with so he could get back to Lin Xu.

When they arrived, San Na was already waiting outside. The mont the maid saw her, she bowed and imdiately hurried away, leaving only the two of them in the silent courtyard.

Mo Ying’s frown deepened.

"Why did you call here?" he asked coldly.

San Na’s eyes softened with a fragile smile. "Can a wife no longer ask to see her own husband?"

The words made Mo Ying’s jaw tighten in anger. "I don’t have ti for your nagging, San Na. If that’s all—"

He turned, ready to walk away, but before he took even a step, San Na suddenly reached out, grabbed his sleeve...

...and pulled him sharply toward her.

Before he could react, her lips crashed against his.

Here is the continuation, polished and smoothly written while keeping the emotion and tone of your story:

Mo Ying’s eyes widened for a split second, then his expression turned ice-cold.

He shoved San Na away with a force that made her stumble a few steps backward.

"San Na," he said, voice low with disgust, "why do you enjoy forcing yourself on people?"

Her eyes trembled, a flicker of hurt flashing across her face... but it disappeared almost imdiately, replaced by a calm, almost practiced expression. As if the sadness had been nothing but a mask.

Mo Ying’s lips curled in cold irritation. He wasn’t fooled.

"Don’t," he warned sharply. "Don’t ever try sothing like this again. Not with ."

Without giving her another glance, Mo Ying turned and strode away, his coat sweeping behind him as if cutting any final tie between them.

He had an urgent desire to return to Lin Xu.

To the only person whose presence didn’t make him feel suffocated.

To the person he actually wanted to see. Unknown to him, she had witnessed sothing she didn’t find pleasurable at all.

.....

Lin Xu walked back to her quarters, her mind blank. She walked as though she was lost in thought, almost tripping in each step she took.

Her mind wandered through everything that had occurred these past few days. At this point she just wanted to sleep; she was tired.

Upon arriving back at her quarters, she saw Yan i together with the kids. The kids ran toward her, hugging her slightly. "Mama, did you miss us?" Mo Bao asked as Yiling and Yuen looked at each other and laughed.

Smiling, Yan i stepped forward. "I had to take them back outside because they wanted to see how the capital looked like at night."

Lin Xu nodded slightly. She bent down and held Bao Bao’s shoulder, saying with a calm voice, "You guys should get your things, we are leaving."

Yan i and the children all froze, their eyes wide with shock at Lin Xu’s words. The cheerful atmosphere from monts ago evaporated instantly.

"Lin Xu..." Yan i stepped forward, concern tightening her features. "What happened? Why are we leaving all of a sudden?"

The children quickly crowded around too.

"Mama, what about Papa Ying?" Mo Bao asked, clutching her sleeve with both hands.

"We can’t leave him," Yiling muttered anxiously.

"Did sothing happen? Did soone bully you?" little Yuen asked with a trembling voice.

Lin Xu opened her mouth to speak, but before a single word could escape, a cold yet unmistakably familiar voice ca from behind them.

"Who said you are leaving ?"

Everyone’s heads snapped toward the sound, everyone except Lin Xu, who visibly stiffened but refused to turn, her fingers curling tightly around Mo Bao’s shoulder.

Mo Ying stood at the entrance of the courtyard, shadows from the lanterns outlining his tall figure. His gaze was fixed on Lin Xu alone.

Mo Ying finally stopped in front of them, his eyes never leaving Lin Xu.

"Lin Xu," he said, voice low, strained with sothing between anger and desperation, "why are you trying to run away?"

Still, Lin Xu didn’t look at him.

Her silence struck him harder than any words could.

"...Lin Xu," he repeated, this ti softer, "look at ."

But she remained still. He no longer had the right to stand in front of her.

A faint tremble appeared in her lowered eyelashes.

Because she had seen sothing she shouldn’t have. Sothing she couldn’t forget. Sothing that had hurt her far more than she ever expected.

Seeing how the situation was unfolding, Yan i led the children inside in order to give Mo Ying and Lin Xu their space to talk. They were always fighting or going through one problem in their relationship; she was so used to it at this point.

With them now alone, Mo Ying stood in front of Lin Xu as she didn’t bother to look him in the eyes.

Yan i saw the tension rising and quickly pulled the children inside.

"Let’s give them space," she whispered, closing the door behind them. She had seen countless argunts between the two. At this point, she was just used to it.

Now only Mo Ying and Lin Xu remained in the courtyard.
