When Mo Ying had arrived, everyone had gone outside the hall to see what was going on... both Yan i and Zu Shi, including the kids.

When they all saw it was Mo Ying they were all shocked.

Quickly Zu Shi and Yan i exchanged looks and quickly walked toward the kids.

"Umm... you guys should head inside for now... once the problem is solved you can head back in," Yan i laughed awkwardly.

Zu Shi called a maid to take them straight to their rooms but Yiling was not willing to leave.

"That is Papa Ying there, why must I leave... I want to talk to Papa Ying," she shouted, not wanting to go.

Mo Yuen and Mo Bao exchanged looks then each took hold of their sister’s hands, ready to pull her inside if they must.

"L-let go of ..." she tried removing their grip but it was too strong.

Before she knew it she had already been pulled by her brothers with the maids trailing behind them.

Sighing, Zu Shi placed her hands on her small waist. "Why the hell is Mo Ying here? He didn’t co all these years and he just has to pick the day of Lin Xu’s wedding."

"Co, let’s go see what’s really going on." Yan i took hold of her hand and they both headed further outside to know what exactly was happening.

---

"Bring out the scroll!" Mo Ying barked.

A soldier stepped forward, unfolded the royal scroll, and cleared his throat. He read in a loud, steady voice so everyone could hear.

"By order of His Majesty, Emperor of the Xuen Empire, General Mo Ying is hereby granted the imperial decree. For his victory at the northern front and his loyal service to the realm, the Emperor bestows upon General Mo Ying the right to claim a woman of his choosing as his concubine. The General has chosen Lin Xu of Wu Village to be part of his family. Let this decree be carried out."

As soon as the soldier finished speaking, he rolled back the scroll and stepped back.

Everyone was beyond shocked... they couldn’t even believe their ears.

"No way, so the general is truly here to marry her? Oh my goodness..."

"She’s just an old woman with three kids... what does the general see that’s so attractive in her? There are so many young girls and he’s choosing her?"

The gasps and murmurs filled the entire courtyard. Lin Xu heard them all loud and clear; her eyes just staring at Mo Ying... there was nothing in them. No affection, no hatred, just an empty stare.

Stepping toward the huge crowd, Su Feng shouted, "Due to so issues the wedding will have to end here... I would like for everyone to please leave as quietly as they can!"

He shouted as the guards present led the guests outside. The only people who remained were his family and Yan i along with Zu Shi, including Yan i’s parents.

With the guests gone, Lin Xu then walked toward Su Feng, her face still expressionless.

"Su Feng, I’m sorry but for now the wedding will have to end... And I would like for you to leave."

"What? I’m not going anywhere!" he said, giving Mo Ying a death glare.

But Lin Xu didn’t want to have it. "This is my problem. I don’t want to involve you or any of your family so please just leave... I beg of you."

Su Feng stood in silence for a while until he finally agreed, "I’ll leave but if there is anything you need, I’m here for you, Lin Xu."

With that, he turned around and left, his family following behind him.

With him gone it only remained Yan i, her parents and Zu Shi in the courtyard.

After so ti, Lin Xu finally faced Mo Ying.

"What are you doing this for?!" Lin Xu said as she slowly walked toward Mo Ying.

"Why co back? You have everything you could ever wish for... a title, fa, wives, even a kid... what else do you want from , Mo Ying? WHY CAN’T YOU JUST LET GO?"

She shouted, everyone staring in silence, each guessing what Mo Ying would say next.

He walked toward her, placing his hands on her shoulders as he stared at her, his eyes locked on hers.

"Lin Xu, I made you a promise that I would co back for you..."

"What stupid promise? I don’t want to hear the promises of a married man. Concubine?" Lin Xu hissed.

"You are here claiming you love and you want to be your concubine. Listen, Mo Ying, I am no man’s concubine... If you think you can co in here and take to that house of yours then you are dead wrong I tell you. Dead wrong."

She turned as she lifted up her hanfu, heading inside, but the next thing Mo Ying said made her stop midway.

"You are my rightful wife and mother to my children!"

Imdiately after he said those words, everyone faced him in shock.

"W-what did he just say? Mother to his children—what children... ah, the kids?" Yan i whispered to Zu Shi, confused.

"That explains so much. No wonder the boys bear a striking resemblance to Mo Ying," Zu Shi said. Yan i imdiately nodded in agreent.

anwhile, Old Man Yan stared at his wife, also surprised. "Wasn’t the kids a product of Mo Dan Tian, that husband of hers?"

"I thought so; looks like we were all wrong."

Imdiately after those words were said, Lin Xu seed to have frozen on the spot... her mind going to many places at this point.

How did he know? she thought to herself.

Mo Ying shouted once again, now even louder, "I will not say this again.... I will not leave the compound until I take my rightful wife and children along with ... Lin Xu, you are going to co with whether you like it or not!"
