“Stay Away from Your Ex-Girlfriends”
Ti ticked by, and before she knew it, Song Qinghuan had been sitting in her car for nearly twenty minutes.
It wasn’t until her car window was tapped that she looked up to see Fang Zhou’s face staring back at her. She finally turned off the short videos she had been watching.
“What are you doing here?”
Song Qinghuan rolled down the window, her face full of confusion.
Wasn’t he supposed to be cozying up with his new girlfriend? How did he have ti to co find her?
Outside the car, Fang Zhou shrugged helplessly and held up a file.
“There are a few points in this docunt I need you to clarify.”
Although he knew Song Qinghuan’s excuse about leaving sothing in the car was just that—an excuse to leave—he couldn’t wait any longer.
He had other work to do.
So he decided to co out and find Song Qinghuan himself to get it over with quickly.
A flicker of disappointnt crossed Song Qinghuan’s eyes. So it was just about work.
“Get in, and we can discuss it.”
The sound of the car door opening signaled Song Qinghuan’s invitation for Fang Zhou to get in.
Fang Zhou didn’t hesitate, walking around to the other side and getting into the car.
“This is an analysis of Xiao Pang’s recent live-streaming performance. I think there’s sothing unreasonable here...”
Fang Zhou got straight to the point, and Song Qinghuan listened attentively, taking notes.
Finally, they both agreed on the necessary changes and stopped.
“Okay, that’s about it. Take this back to the company, make the revisions, and send the electronic version. If everything checks out, we’ll proceed accordingly.”
With that, Fang Zhou placed his hand on the door handle, ready to leave.
But just then, Song Qinghuan called out to him.
“Wait, Fang Zhou!”
Fang Zhou turned back, puzzled. “What’s wrong? Is there sothing we didn’t cover?”
Song Qinghuan shook her head, speaking sincerely, “It’s not about work. It’s personal.”
Fang Zhou showed no interest.
“I don’t think there’s anything personal worth discussing.”
He turned to leave again.
Behind him, Song Qinghuan’s voice echoed softly.
“Don’t you want to know why you keep running into your ex-girlfriends on these shows?”
“Don’t you want to know why I left you?”
These questions stopped Fang Zhou in his tracks.
He turned back, looking at Song Qinghuan’s delicate face, and said in a low voice, “I’m not interested in why you left. You don’t need to justify yourself.”
“But as for the first question, what do you have to say?”
Could it be that Song Qinghuan was finally going to reveal the real reason?
Under Fang Zhou’s intense gaze, Song Qinghuan blinked, feeling that he had changed a lot. He no longer had that cheerful deanor.
“No, he just doesn’t smile at you anymore.”
A voice whispered in Song Qinghuan’s heart, making her shiver.
This realization was indeed cruel.
And as Fang Zhou said, she couldn’t clear her na.
Song Qinghuan smiled bitterly, her voice growing hoarse.
“What’s there to clear? The truth is, I left you for money.”
“Soone offered a large sum to leave you and get you on that show.”
“As for your ex-girlfriends, they were more or less manipulated into joining the show.”
Fang Zhou was stunned, not expecting her to say this. He quickly asked, “Who was it?”
Who would spend so much to buy off Song Qinghuan?
Song Qinghuan’s eyes darkened, and she murmured, “You didn’t even ask , ‘Is money more important than ?’”
Fang Zhou let out a cold laugh.
“Is there even a need to ask?”
From the mont he t Song Qinghuan, he knew that money was her top priority, everything else ca second.
Their conflicts weren’t so apparent back then, so it didn’t beco a breaking point.
Soone offering Song Qinghuan money was like giving a pillow to a sleepy person.
Whether the pillow was offered by a fat rich guy or so mysterious figure, did it matter?
“Forget it.”
Song Qinghuan shook her head and continued.
“I signed a confidentiality agreent, so I can’t tell you. But you can investigate on your own.”
“The only thing I can tell you is to stay away from your ex-girlfriends.”
Fang Zhou remained silent for a mont, then said quietly, “So, you told nothing.”
He opened the car door, standing outside, and said, “But you did say one thing right.”
Song Qinghuan looked up at him and asked, “What?”
“Bang!”
The car door closed, and as Fang Zhou walked away, he left her with one last line.
“Stay away from your ex-girlfriends.”
