That day, Mao Dongqing had co to the house with his guinea pig to catch him. The thing that made him the angriest was that because he’d scared the guinea pig, the living room had been left for the guinea pig while the law enforcent officer had administered his warning in the bedroom!
Mao Dongqing had been wearing the pure black military cloak that belonged to the Floating City guard, with a photon law enforcent gun at his waist and dark leather gloves on his hands.
Little Orange had never liked leather gloves.
He’d grown up on the Star of Bliss, and these things more or less always ca with obscure associations.
However, this guy had actually worn a glove just to hold the guinea pig’s leash.
This guy was weird!
In the bedroom, Mao Dongqing recorded Little Orange’s derit and warning for illegally invading a private house. He would be taken to the detention center for the genetically modified and confined. Additionally, he’d used the catnip for stir fry and would be punished for taking drugs.
Little Orange: “......”
The two of them quickly started to fight in the bedroom. Mao Dongqing effortlessly suppressed Little Orange, then added three days to the confinent period.
In Little Orange’s warm bedroom, Mao Dongqing pressed down on the cat-eared youth’s spine, keeping a considerable distance between them. Little Orange looked behind him in anger, but could only see the flying cloak, the law enforcent officer’s white shirt and army trousers, and the long straight legs.
Mao Dongqing: “You still haven’t reached adulthood. You can choose not to go to school.”
“But since you’ve registered in Floating City, before you reach adulthood, I have the right to discipline you.”
So, Little Orange was thrown into a cell.
The confinent room was extrely boring. Not only did it not have any cat treats, there was also a self-taught physics folk scientist who insisted on teaching him basic physics.
Little Orange kicked away this folk scientist and took out the remaining catnip from his pocket.
Then, he was reported by the folk scientist, once again for taking drugs.
Outside the confinent room, Researcher Song was really helpless as he released Little Orange and tossed him to Mao Dongqing, letting him do as he liked. At the sa ti, he praised Shao Yu, who’d been the one to report Little Orange.
After going out, the Little Orange who’d eaten a few pieces of catnip was floating, walking around like he had no center of gravity. When he saw Mao Dongqing, he even talked back to him. Today was the day where he would be injected with MHCC, so wouldn’t they be killing off a cat if they didn’t give it to him?
Mao Dongqing took him to the dical room and injected a tube of MHCC into Little Orange’s arm.
Without catnip to lessen the pain, Little Orange wled and howled, his body cold.
Mao Dongqing didn’t say a thing.
Little Orange’s hair stiffened in anger, and he pounced abruptly at Mao Dongqing. The orange cat’s teeth and claws were flying everywhere, and Mao Dongqing slowly retreated. Little Orange leapt on him fiercely, his arm wrapping around Mao Dongqing, wanting to bite him to vent his anger.
The law enforcent officer held down Little Orange’s forehead, slowly moved him away, and then lightly patted him on the back.
Little Orange suddenly fell silent.
The MHCC injection was completed.
Regardless of whether it was genetically modified humans or cats, MHCC was sothing that would be with them all their lives.
After the pain passed, Little Orange lifted up an arm to wipe away the physiological tears.
Mao Dongqing handed him a tissue, “Sleep. The confinent will continue tomorrow.”
The sun was shining overhead.
Flower and bird market.
The shop assistant watched as Little Orange stared at the guinea pig for a long ti and shivered. This gaze of his, did he want to eat the guinea pig?
Little Orange: “This one. Pack it up well.”
The shop assistant: “......” Dear custor, this is a guinea pig, you just have to pick up the cage and go, there’s no way to pack it up!
Little Orange spoke to himself, “It’s so fat, why would anyone like a guinea pig. Why not raise an orange cat instead.”
The shop assistant was confused, “Orange cat? An orange cat is even fatter... ah, why are you angry!”
Floating City Battle Team was on a tight schedule. After the White Moonlight training match, they would enter a period of closed training.
Little Orange held up the cage, letting it swing. When he saw the guinea pig tremble and shiver, he switched to holding the cage, then finally hugged the cage.
He casually sent a ssage to Red, “Lobster?? Leave so for , you’re not allowed to eat it all! Not allowed!”
White Moonlight building.
Red had no choice but to leave a few scattered pieces for Little Orange. He coated it with mustard and put it into Wu Jin’s small fridge to keep cold.
Wu Jin: “And then what? And then what?!”
Red: “And then? Little Orange ssed around and played more than he worked when he went to beco a live broadcast anchor, so he was sent off by my big brother to a cat cafe. He doesn’t like to work, but he’ll run over to find my big brother every few days. When he works, he’s just sleeping together with the cats.”
“Later on, I don’t know what was going on with him for a period of ti.”
“During that period, my big brother presided over a youth innovation competition in Floating City as a law enforcent officer. For so reason, Little Orange went to participate as well. When my big brother gave him his certificate while wearing a mask, his entire person turned, ah, he was frozen stiff! Little Orange is 1.71 ters tall, standing amidst a group of little carrot head children and going to find my big brother for a certificate. That scene, hahahaha!”
Wu Jin thought about it, “Little Orange’s knowledge as a genetically modified human, was it all taught to him by Brother Dongqing?”
Red nodded, “Yeah, he taught him personally for a month. In theory, all the genetically modified who are registered in Floating City should be assigned a guide. Little Orange was assigned to my big brother because he’s a special situation. He’ll be guided until he reaches adulthood.”
Wu Jin suddenly understood. This was the chick effect.
Red: “Later on, Floating City built their battle team, and I thought about that ti when Little Orange stole catnip. Nobody noticed it at all, so why not have him try out for the scout position.”
“As a result, he got the spot!”
“At the beginning, my big brother didn’t allow it. He said that his body fat ratio was a little high, and then Little Orange blew up again...”
At the entrance to the White Moonlight building, Little Orange returned with the guinea pig.
He’d also bought a box of marshmallows for Wu Jin along the way.
After all, it had been Wu Jin who’d first released him, and this cat still wanted to repay him for his kindness.
At this ti, it was already close to dinner ti. White Moonlight had just announced that ‘lobster baked rice was available for dinner’, and the trainees, team support staff, and active team mbers were all flocking to the canteen!
The elevators were blocked like never before.
Little Orange held the guinea pig and was still stewing over that sentence ‘orange cats are fatter’ from the shop assistant.
At the ti, Mao Dongqing had also said that he had a high body fat ratio.
What was wrong with being an orange cat! Their body fat ratio was just like this! If they weren’t fat, how could they have paw pads, how could they be entirely silent when they touched a gun! So, that night, Little Orange had rushed into Mao Dongqing’s private house, forcing him to look at his own abdominal muscles and biceps.
Mao Dongqing imdiately reprimanded him for not dressing himself properly, and then the law enforcent officer draped his robe over his shoulders. It had a light scent of trees and berries on it.
Little Orange quietly took Mao Dongqing’s sleeping robe ho with him.
According to his bones, Little Orange would reach adulthood in October that year.
Mao Dongqing’s relationship with him as a guide would also be officially over then.
Before going out on a trip with the Floating City Battle Team for the first ti, Little Orange had asked Mao Dongqing whether or not he’d be a guide again.
Mao Dongqing had shaken his head.
He would be accompanying the guinea pig through the last part of its life.
Little Orange thought to himself.
He wanted to have Mao Dongqing accompany him, and it was best if he didn’t have to receive discipline and guidance. If he took another charge––he would go and take the examination to beco a guide and snatch up Mao Dongqing’s charge.
There was always soone who ca first, and soone who arrived after.
He didn’t want to snatch him away from the guinea pig.
But nobody else was allowed to snatch him away from Little Orange.
Squeak.
The White Moonlight elevator arrived.
Little Orange and countless trainees all rushed in!
The elevator instantly went to full capacity. Little Orange reached out to protect the newly purchased guinea pig, preventing it from getting squished. Then, he was afraid that the guinea pig would be lacking in air and raised the cage up high.
Facing the elevator’s bright ceiling lamps, it was like holding up a cake and making a wish.
His terminal beeped three tis.
This was a special communication sound for family mbers. The black cat that Little Orange had bullied before couldn’t make calls, so for the ti being, there was only Mao Dongqing who had this privilege.
The elevator door opened.
Outside the door, Red quickly handed the lobster sashimi to Little Orange. Wu Jin reached out for the guinea pig and was surprised to find that this one was more like the one that Mao Dongqing raised than the one that Red had selected...
It was simply like a replica of Mao Dongqing’s guinea pig.
Red was also shocked.
Little Orange stuffed the marshmallows to Wu Jin, reminding Wu Jin again and again not to forget his safe word; that was the voucher that would allow him to accept the orange cat’s gratitude in the future! Then, he quickly slipped to the side to receive the video call, commanding Red as he did so, “Move the cage away, quickly!”
At the other end of the video, Mao Dongqing appeared in the virtual projection.
Little Orange ate the sashimi bits that Red had left for him and was affected by the spiciness of the mustard.
Mao Dongqing: “What’s the matter.”
Little Orange stretched out his cat’s tongue and hissed, “Mustard, spicy! Forget it, you wouldn’t understand even if I said it––”
In the virtual screen, Mao Dongqing’s guinea pig that had been raised for three years slowly climbed up onto the desk and locked gazes with Little Orange.
Little Orange turned his head away slightly.
It had taken a full three months of ti for the guinea pig and the cat to be able to live together in peace. Three months was 1/30th of the lifespan for a guinea pig.
The life of a therapy companion was short, and this was sothing that would inevitably affect Mao Dongqing’s treatnt. The Floating City laboratory was already preparing for this.
Mao Dongqing stretched out a hand, and the guinea pig rubbed against his rough palm. The law enforcent officer nodded, “Eat less mustard.”
Mao Dongqing was suddenly stunned.
On the other side of the virtual screen, Little Orange was looking steadily at him.
When their lines of sights t, Little Orange quickly shook his head, “It’s not a big deal, we’re about to have dinner, I’m hanging up––”
From behind him, a huge pan of lobster baked rice was served up.
The White Moonlight and Floating City teams both cheered together. Caesar and Red’s cheers were especially exaggerated, to the point where it was like they’d never had lobster before.
Little Orange’s gaze wandered around in the crowd.
Wu Jin was happily queuing up for dinner. Wei Shi moved his chopsticks in an orderly manner, eating slowly, while Wu Jin looked on in anticipation. It was probably Wei Shi’s first ti tasting lobster rice after breaking the emotional lock.
Little Orange looked at his terminal, put down his hands, then looked around for Red in order to pick up the guinea pig cage. He decided to first get so food for the new guinea pig.
The youth held the square shaped guinea pig cage carefully and looked down as though making a wish.
He wanted Mao Dongqing to like his next therapy companion.
He wanted this therapy companion to have a lifespan of 99 years and spend a long post-unlocking period with Mao Dongqing.
This little guinea pig, it would beco the first gift from this next therapy companion to Mao Dongqing.
Juurensha: Awww Little Orange is tsundere but trying to care for Mao Dongqing in his own way.
