Rain was back at work, and this ti, she felt truly energized. gan’s presence brought a sense of normalcy and support that she hadn’t realized she missed so much. It reminded her of the good old days at Smith Law Firm.

"Prosecutor Lancaster, this report... sothing seems off here," gan comnted, pointing to a specific detail in the docunts she was reviewing.

Rain smiled warmly. "Ah, I’ve really missed you, gan, and your sharp eyes. I’m so glad you’re here, working close to again."

gan chuckled softly. "It’s an honor to be here too!"

Their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door. Marlon entered, carrying a paper bag, but as soon as Rain caught a whiff of his cologne, her stomach churned. She bolted to the restroom and began throwing up.

gan quickly followed and was at her side, gently stroking her back. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.

Marlon stepped closer, looking confused, but the mont he approached, Rain started retching again.

"Marlon, that sll, stay away from !" Rain managed to say between breaths, her face pale.

"What sll?" Marlon muttered, sniffing his shirt. "Oh, you an this cologne? Soone from the third floor was selling perfus and sprayed this on , saying it suited ."

gan suddenly blurted out, "Are you pregnant?"

Rain didn’t respond, her silence speaking volus. gan’s eyes widened, and she turned to Marlon. "Go out for a while. I think she can’t stand the sll of your cologne. You’re making her nauseous. Better yet, change your shirt before you co back."

Marlon nodded sheepishly and left the room, leaving gan to stay with Rain, her hand still soothingly rubbing her back.

When Rain finally felt better, she took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. She hadn’t been experiencing morning sickness, but her sense of sll had beco so sharp that certain scents, like Marlon’s perfu, irritated her almost instantly.

"So? You’re pregnant, aren’t you?" gan asked, her voice tinged with excitent, her eyes brimming with anticipation.

Rain couldn’t help but smile, her lips stretching wide as she gave a small nod.

gan gasped, her hands flying to her mouth, nearly letting out a squeal of delight before Rain quickly gestured for her to keep it down. "Oh my gosh! Congratulations, Rain! I’m so happy for you!"

"Thank you, gan," Rain replied, her grin widening.

"Shouldn’t you tell everyone about this wonderful news?" gan asked eagerly, her excitent practically bubbling over.

Rain chuckled softly, already imagining the scene. "Hmm, I’m pretty sure they know by now. Marlon’s probably already spilling the news as we speak. I didn’t even need to confirm it with you earlier, he simply can’t keep quiet."

gan laughed, shaking her head. "You’re probably right. I bet it’s spreading like wildfire."

And true enough, Jane quickly rushed into her office, her face lit up with curiosity and excitent. "Prosecutor Lancaster, is it true? Are you pregnant?"

"Yes, she is!" gan enthusiastically answered before Rain could even respond.

Rain gave gan a mock glare, though she couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped her lips.

"Oh, congratulations, Prosecutor!" Jane exclaid, beaming with genuine happiness.

"Thank you, Jane," Rain replied warmly, though she quickly added with a playful tone,

"Alright now, let’s not make this the office headline. Back to work, everyone."

gan and Jane nodded obediently, though both wore knowing grins as they left the room.

As the door closed behind them, Rain leaned back in her chair, allowing a mont of calm to wash over her. Her hand instinctively moved to her still-flat belly, her fingers gently caressing it.

A soft smile played on her lips as she thought about the tiny life growing inside her. The world outside might have been bustling, but in this quiet mont, everything felt just right.

Rain’s irritation lingered as she set her phone down after the call with Tim. The man had drained enough of her energy in the past, and she wasn’t about to let him rob her of her peace anymore. Blocking his number felt like cutting the last frayed thread tying her to a dark Chapter in her life.

Her resolve hardened as she muttered under her breath, "I’ll make sure you and everyone else involved in this will face justice."

Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Co in," she called, straightening her posture.

Matt entered, his usual serious deanor intact, and handed her a set of docunts along with a tablet. "Here’s the recent report on her movents," he said.

Rain skimd through the files, her eyes narrowing as she stopped at a particular detail. "Palan Island?" she said, her tone sharp.

"Yes," Matt confird. "She’s been spotted there recently. From what we’ve gathered, Dina’s responsible for the fire at the prison. It was staged to cover her escape."

Rain’s grip on the tablet tightened. Dina had already caused so much chaos, and now she was free, roaming with so hidden agenda.

"What is she up to now?" Rain muttered, her voice laced with frustration.

Matt hesitated for a mont before asking, "Should we involve the police and have her captured?"

Rain shook her head, her expression cold and calculating. "Not yet. Dina’s not acting alone. Soone powerful is backing her, and I want that person exposed. She’ll lead us to them if we’re patient."

Matt nodded, understanding the strategy. "Understood. We’ll keep monitoring her every move."

Rain’s gaze lingered on the island’s na on the tablet. Dina would be the key to unravelling the larger sche. For now, she would wait, but not passively. Every step Dina took would bring Rain closer to the truth and closer to ensuring no harm would ever co to her and Alexander again.

She leaned back in her chair, her hand unconsciously moving to her stomach. As much as she wanted to focus solely on her family, she knew this battle wasn’t over yet. Dina was the bait, and Rain intended to reel in everyone who thought they could manipulate and destroy lives without consequence.

At the remote villa on Palan Island, Dina paced back and forth in her room, frustration bubbling inside her. The lush surroundings and luxurious accommodations couldn’t distract her from the cage she was trapped in. n were stationed all around the property, making escape impossible.

"Damn it," she muttered under her breath, gripping her hair in irritation. "This has Carla written all over it. Who else would’ve helped ?"

Despite her situation, the treatnt she was receiving wasn’t terrible. She was given everything she needed, except for the one thing she wanted most: the plastic surgery to fix her face. The doctor had told her the procedure was too risky, that her life might be at stake.

"What good is my life if I can’t even get even with Rain?" Dina hissed, slamming her fist against the vanity table.

Her brooding was interrupted by the sudden swing of her door. She turned, startled, as an older man strolled in with a confident grin on his face. Behind him were two n she recognized, her constant attendants.

"Who are you?" Dina demanded, her brows furrowing.

The man chuckled, his tone condescending. "You should show so respect to your savior, little one. Otherwise, you’d still be rotting in that prison."

Dina’s frown deepened as the man pulled a chair in front of her and casually sat down, exuding authority.

"So, you’re Michael’s little pet, huh?" he said mockingly.

"I’m not his pet! I’m his woman!" Dina snapped, glaring at him.

The man chuckled again, shaking his head. "His woman? Oh, how naive. Did Michael ever tell you about his partner in all his illegal dealings abroad?"

Dina’s expression faltered for a mont. She had overheard whispers of such a partner during Michael’s transactions but had never paid much attention.

"Well," the man continued, leaning closer with a wicked grin, "that partner is . And thanks to Michael’s little obsession with Rain Lancaster, I’ve lost a lot. Now, it’s ti for payback."

He reached out, gripping Dina’s chin roughly as his tone darkened. "Let’s see if you’re worth the trouble, little one. Do you have what it takes to be useful in my revenge? Pulling you out of that prison after the fire you started wasn’t easy, you know."

Dina’s eyes widened in realization. "You’re the one who orchestrated that? Not Carla?"

The man’s grin vanished, replaced by a cold glare. "Carla? Who the hell is that bitch?"

Dina blinked, confusion washing over her. If it wasn’t Carla, then who was truly pulling the strings? For the first ti, she felt a chill run down her spine. Whoever this man was, he wasn’t soone to cross lightly.

Dina’s face twisted into a mix of fury and apprehension as she clenched her fists. "Who the hell are you?!" she demanded, her tone sharp and biting.

The man leaned back in his chair, exuding an air of arrogance and dominance, his grin widening as he answered. "? I’m Rico Alvarez, and I’m the man who owns your life now."

Dina’s stomach churned at his words, but she refused to show weakness. She glared at him, trying to mask the growing fear in her chest.

Rico continued, his voice laced with nace, "I’m your new master, little one. You’ll do as I say because I don’t take things lightly, especially when it cos to those who ss with my business."

His grin turned sinister as he leaned forward, locking eyes with her. "I lost a lot because of Michael and his ridiculous obsession with Rain Lancaster. And now, I want it all back... every single thing I lost."
