Knowing how possessive his boss was, Tyron quickly cleared his throat, coughing loudly enough to get everyone’s attention. The group had been so consud by their discussion that they hadn’t noticed Alexander’s arrival.

"Alexander?!" Rain gasped, her eyes widening when she saw her husband standing at the open door, his expression dim. He was flanked by Tyron, who was grinning sheepishly.

"Madam Rain! Boss ca to bring you dinner and eat with you!" Tyron burst out, his tone overly cheerful, trying to lighten the tension in the room.

With that, Rain quickly stood up from her chair, a wide smile spreading across her lips as she approached her husband.

"You should’ve told you were coming," she comnted, ignoring the fact that her husband looked gloomy. She already had an idea as to why, and planned to tease him about it later when they were alone.

The three n with her imdiately gave Alexander curt nods and greetings.

"Am I disturbing you guys?" Alexander managed to ask.

"Not really, we’re just about to leave," Matt spoke first, his smile awkward.

"We’re leaving already? I thought we were working overti. This trial is in two days, and-" Marlon stopped mid-sentence when Matt elbowed him.

"It’s fine... You can continue working, but do that after my wife has her dinner," Alexander said.

"So everything’s good, then. Looks like you brought enough food," Henry remarked, cutting in.

"Oh yes, we bought so much that the three of you, and even I, can-" Tyron suddenly paused when he saw the glare from his boss.

"I guess I should leave first," he muttered awkwardly.

"Leave the car; I’ll wait for my wife and drive back," Alexander murmured to Tyron.

anwhile, Rain shook her head. She was speechless but, nevertheless, loved the attention from her husband, who still couldn’t rember his mories with her.

Tyron nodded quickly and then asked Matt, "Where should I arrange these?"

Matt guided Tyron to their pantry, and Rain grabbed Alexander’s hand, saying, "Let’s have dinner, then." After the lunchboxes were laid on the table, Tyron quickly left.

"Wow," Marlon muttered, staring at the expensive als on the table. Rain smiled and then sat in a chair, pulling Alexander to sit with her. "Let’s eat and recharge, then finish work imdiately," she humd.

They all ate in silence, and Rain couldn’t help but notice how awkward the situation was.

After a few monts of silence, Matt stood up first and said, "I’m finished. I’ll work on the evidence and just... catch up later."

Marlon also stood up, and Rain gulped, wondering if Matt and Marlon even chewed their food properly before getting back to work. anwhile, she, Alexander, and Henry, who was sitting in front of her, remained at the table, still eating.

"So, what ti do you think you’ll finish?" Alexander casually asked.

"Maybe more than an hour," she answered.

Then he looked at Henry and asked, "Are you also going to work that long?"

Henry smiled and replied, "Of course. I’m Prosecutor Lancaster’s partner in this case, so I need to work closely with her."

"I see," Alexander muttered with a stoic expression. Then Rain gulped when he suddenly said, "Here, have so of this."

He was feeding her at on his fork and even gestured, "Ahhh." Rain quickly took it in her mouth, noticing Henry shaking his head after witnessing it.

"How about we open a law firm so you can be the boss and manage your ti?" Alexander suddenly comnted, making her cough.

The tension beca more palpable when Henry poured a glass of water and offered it to her, while Alexander also offered her an open bottle of water.

"Here," both of them said simultaneously.

anwhile, at Matt’s desk, both Marlon and Matt witnessed what was happening at the pantry.

"Am I the only one who feels weird? I an, I know Mr. Lancaster is intimidating, but I feel like I’m walking on thin ice with that deadly gaze whenever I get close to Prosecutor Lancaster," Marlon murmured.

"I heard he’s really possessive of Prosecutor Lancaster," Matt comnted.

"Yeah, I see that. Look at how he almost killed Prosecutor Wayne with that glare. Goodness, it’s just a glass of water... I honestly still want to eat more, but the atmosphere there is so awkward I feel like I’ll get indigestion."

Back in the pantry, Rain took Alexander’s offer of bottled water and drank it. Then she turned to look at him and said, "I want to beco a judge, and to do so, I need to work in a governnt office like this." She was responding to his earlier remark about opening her own law firm.

"Right, you’ll need to work in the governnt office for at least five years to do that," Henry interrupted. "That’s why I’m here as well... I just need to finish this year."

Rain’s eyes widened. "Wow, you’ll be the youngest judge then!"

"No, he’s not. That’s Sebastian’s record," Alexander interrupted.

Henry simply smiled and got up. "I’m done. I’ll work in my private office, so just see there if you need anything."

Rain nodded, but then gulped as she noticed Alexander staring at Henry intently. "Do you need to go to his office? Can’t you just call him on the telephone?" he questioned with arched brows.

Rain couldn’t help chuckling. "What?" Alexander mumbled with a pout. She grabbed his hand under the table and said, "You know, as much as I like how jealous you seem right now, I must say you’re overdoing it. Those boys are my co-workers, so don’t overthink their closeness..."

Alexander shrugged and muttered, "I’m sorry. It’s just that I don’t like any man near you... especially that Henry..."

Rain gently squeezed his hand and asked, "Don’t you trust ?"

Alexander looked her straight in the eyes and said, "I trust you, Rain, but I don’t trust that Henry. I don’t like how he looks at you."

Rain sighed, feeling the weight of his words, but also appreciating his concern. She leaned in closer, her hand still holding his, and softly replied, "I know you care, but you don’t have to worry about Henry. He’s just a colleague, nothing more."

Alexander’s gaze softened, but the tension was still there. "I don’t like the way he looks at you. It feels... off," he admitted, his voice low.

Rain smiled gently, her thumb brushing over the back of his hand. "I understand. But you know I’m yours, right? No one else matters."

Finally, Alexander smiled, and Rain fought the urge to tease him about how red his cheeks had turned. But they were in the office, and there was work to be done.

"Let’s finish up," she said, "I’ll work as quickly as I can so we can head ho soon."

As soon as they finished eating, Rain grabbed so files and headed back to her private office, with Alexander following closely behind. She knew it would be awkward for the guys if she worked outside with Alexander watching over them. Besides, she could always call them if she needed anything.

"I might take a while, so how about you head ho first?" Rain suggested. "I’ll have Rico pick up once I’m done."

"It’s fine, take your ti, Rain," Alexander replied. "Just pretend I’m not here. I’m curious... and I want to watch you work."

Rain shrugged and nodded, then settled into her work, hoping to finish quickly so she could go ho with him. Every now and then, she’d sneak a glance at him. He was just roaming around, looking at her office. Whenever she caught him staring, she’d flash him a sweet smile.

As Rain focused on her work, she could feel Alexander’s gaze lingering on her, but she didn’t mind. There was sothing comforting about having him around, even if he wasn’t actively participating. It made her private office feel less sterile, more like ho.

She worked efficiently, but her mind occasionally wandered to his presence. She would catch him inspecting so of the files or curiously eyeing the awards on the shelves. He looked so out of place in the professional setting, yet sohow, he fit right in with her.

After a while, she stopped for a mont, stretching her arms and glancing at him again. "Are you planning on just watching ?" she teased lightly.

Alexander smiled, his expression softening. "I’m just enjoying the view," he said, his voice low.

Rain laughed, shaking her head. But inside, she felt a warmth spread through her.

Alexander walked over to Rain’s desk and picked up a few files. Rain continued working on her computer, reviewing the files from the USB that Prosecutor Han’s wife had given her.

"These... aren’t these reports about Tim Clayton?" Alexander suddenly asked, pulling Rain’s attention away from the screen.

"What?" She turned to see him holding papers she hadn’t reviewed yet... papers that were in Mrs. Han paperbag she submitted to her.

"These are reports of Tim Clayton’s movents," Alexander said, handing her the papers.

Rain quickly scanned the docunts, her brow furrowing as she read the details.

"Michael asked Prosecutor Han to investigate Tim? Why?!" Rain exclaid, stunned by the revelation.
