Though he had enjoyed practicing with the little loli in the sealed room and learned considerable〘Yin Magic〙, he still felt sowhat unsatisfied.
He thought greedily that these〘Yin Magic〙spells were rely adequate. While he had mastered most of them, Beatrice hadn't shown him so of the more powerful spells, leaving those beyond his reach.
The Forbidden Library had simply been too small for convenience.
Nevertheless, Adam did learn one〘Yin Magic〙spell that greatly pleased him.

On his way there, he spotted Roswaal and Emilia deep in conversation in the conference room. They appeared to be having a private discussion.
He hadn't ant to eavesdrop, but his ears perked up when he heard Roswaal ntion his na. A wave of suspicion washed over him.
That scheming clown had to be plotting sothing!
He couldn't let his guard down around that suspicious character — who knew what trouble he'd end up in otherwise!
Fortunately, the〔Enhanced Ear〕ability he'd copied from Zenitsu proved useful.
Keeping three ters from the conference room's corner, he concealed himself in the shadows with his〔Concealnt〕skill and listened intently.

Roswaal spoke first.
"Lady Emilia, there's sothing important I must tell you." His tone was uncharacteristically serious, lacking his usual peculiar manner of speaking.
Emilia tensed at his gravity, "Sothing important? What is it, Roswaal?"
"It concerns your lack of a personal knight." Roswaal withdrew a royal decree from his chest and presented it to her, "The Kingdom's Council of Wise n has issued an order requiring all royal candidates to register their personal knights with the Council."
"Eh?!" Emilia snatched the decree and read it frantically.
Indeed, the docunt bore the Council's seal and stated that royal candidates must register their knights' nas. The decree was genuine.
Though it didn't explicitly mandate having a knight, the naive half-elf failed to notice this subtlety. She believed she absolutely needed one.
Her anxiety mounted as she paced the room.
Roswaal had deliberately exploited this misunderstanding, carefully laying his sches. After all, who would pledge loyalty to soone known as a Half-Devil?
Everything would unfold exactly as he'd predicted!
As expected, upon seeing the decree, Emilia burst out in panic.
"Wh-what should we do, Roswaal?!"
"Yes, this is troubleso..." Roswaal affected a worried frown, "Though I am both Margrave and Chief Court Mage, I cannot openly defy the Council's orders — especially not now. Being too willful could damage Lady Emilia's reputation further."
Her standing was already poor; any further decline would destroy her chances in the election.
They fell silent, apparently deep in thought.
While Emilia genuinely pondered their predicant, Roswaal concealed a smirk. He had already chosen her future knight.
Every seemingly reasonable developnt was, in truth, a path he had carefully prepared!
The mont had arrived!
Quickly masking a downward twitch of his mouth, Roswaal posed what appeared to be an innocent suggestion, "Lady Emilia, what are your thoughts about Carter?"
"Hm?" Emilia blinked in surprise.
She couldn't fathom why he'd suddenly ntioned Adam.
Roswaal pressed on, "You see, Carter is a swordsman whose strength surpasses even the average royal knights! Moreover, he's one of the few who accepts your unique appearance, and you share quite a close bond. Most importantly..."
With that, he produced another decree.
"Carter has been officially recognized by the Royal Knights and ordained as a true knight of the kingdom!"
Using his position as Margrave, Roswaal had recomnded Adam for knighthood. Despite the complex and difficult process, he had managed to secure his place in the Kingdom Knights.
His ultimate aim was to make Adam serve as Emilia's knight. Once she made the request, surely he would accept!
Everything was proceeding according to the Book of Wisdom!
But just as these thoughts crossed his mind, Adam stepped in from outside with unexpected words.
"Ahem, about what you two were discussing... sorry, but I refuse."
"Eh?" Roswaal stood dumbfounded.
This developnt had not been part of his calculations!
