That night, Adam slept soundly.
Ever since the appearance of Pandora, the Witch of Vainglory, he had remained constantly vigilant — even within the Sanctuary where seven witches resided. Peace of mind had eluded him completely.
But all that changed when he returned to a certain water goddess's side. The exhilarating thought "With a goddess in my arms, the world is mine" filled him with absolute confidence!
Opening his eyes, he felt a pure, rich water elent curled up in his arms, occasionally nuzzling closer to his chest.
No need to guess — it had to be Aqua, restless as always in her sleep.
Glancing at the open door, he realized he must have forgotten to lock it. She had likely wandered in half-asleep during the night and ended up spending it cuddled against him.
He gently pushed her away, then quietly rose and left the room. Not wanting to disturb her rest, he let her sleep longer.
He made his way to the courtyard.
The late autumn air carried a crisp chill, and leaves fell abundantly — winter was approaching.
Standing still with closed eyes, he began taking stock of what he had gained from that bizarre world of the Zombie (a.k.a. Subaru).
His gains had been substantial, leaving him deeply satisfied.
His Mana Capacity had increased dramatically — even without power conversion, he now matched Level 30 advanced adventurers.
— And to think, he was only Level 10!
{T/N: Since he hasn't KILLED anything powerful enough in Konosuba yet, his level is still low. And any other creature from outside the Parallel World possibly can't give him experience, just as Divine Protection cannot transfer between worlds.}
He had mastered four systems of Magic — Wind, Fire, Earth, and Water — and learned all rare Yin Magic thanks to Beatrice's unreserved teaching. His only regret was that for Yang Magic, he knew only the self-taught〚Sword Light Slash〛.
After defeating the White Whale, he hadn't visited Priscilla, leaving him entirely ignorant of Yang Magic.
His magical achievents were impressive, yet they still paled beside his sword skills.
〚Divine Convergence Breathing〛
Having integrated all Breathing Techniques, he could now freely switch between them, combine them at will, and create new derivatives. These fused techniques demonstrated power surpassing their original forms.
Adam was very satisfied with this outco. After all, he had avoided any Malignant Mutations while channeling these magics through his body.
Then there was〚Transparent World〛.
This ability caught even Suwo Take by surprise — while〚Demon Slayer Mark — Divine Convergence Breathing〛had been predictable, the ergence of〚Transparent World〛was truly unexpected.
Having previously mastered Marked Slayer Mode with normal Breathing Techniques, he felt confident about using it with the fused techniques as well.
But〚Transparent World〛was different — this was his first ti accessing it. The imnse pressure from facing the White Whale must have triggered this latent ability.
Yes, that had to be the explanation! Everything else was rely an exaggerated illusion!
While these improvents to his combat abilities were significant, they paled in comparison to gaining an invaluable companion.
Beatrice!
She was truly remarkable, and becoming her contractor was Adam's greatest honor!
Though she was a 400-year-old tsundere with limited life experience, her magical knowledge and abilities made her an exceptional support!
While Beatrice wasn't powerful alone, she drew strength from her contractor — the more magical power they possessed, the stronger she beca!
She could effortlessly cast spells, and when supplied with vast amounts of magic power, she transford into a formidable magical artillery platform, capable of widespread devastation.
Furthermore, her extensive knowledge allowed her to combine various spells in ways that could even suppress Witches!
Though such suppression was brief — after all, these were Witches wielding Authorities, their power was terrifying, and few could stand against them.
Of course, except for the Od Lagna's favorite son, Reinhard van Astrea.
Yet Adam had lingering questions.
What was Pandora's〚Authority〛? Why had she allowed them to leave the Sanctuary unmolested? Did she know about his ability to traverse worlds, or his power to resurrect the dead?
Lost in his thoughts, Adam stood motionless in the courtyard as ti slipped by.
Eventually, even the drowsy Aqua had risen and co to fetch him for breakfast.
"Adam! Breakfast is ready—!"
"Oh, alright!" Her call snapped him back to reality, interrupting his pondering.
Though many questions remained unanswered, he realized they weren't puzzles he could solve right now. Better to let his future self worry about them.
Upon returning to the mansion, he found Kazuma had co back, looking as fresh and wholeso as a high school student after sumr break.
'Glad you got all that energy out of your system, kid.'
He kept the thought to himself, not wanting to embarrass Kazuma.
The four of them gathered around the dining table for breakfast.
"Hey hey, let's go on a quest today!" Aqua exclaid between mouthfuls, gesturing enthusiastically, "Now that Adam's back, we should get out there!"
"Yeah, yeah!" gumin chid in, "My Explosion Magic hasn't hunted any monsters for two months — I can't wait any longer!"
Well, well! Had these two really spent two months doing nothing but eating, drinking, and lounging around?
Adam glanced questioningly at Kazuma beside him.
"Don't you rember, Adam-senpai? You asked to source rare ingredients." Kazuma explained, "I've been visiting nearby villages, working with other adventurers, doing quests with them — plus looking after these two troublemakers. I've had my hands full."
"But why couldn't you take them along on quests?"
"Adam-senpai! Do you really think we could successfully gather rare ingredients with those two tagging along?"
Ugh... he had such a valid point, Adam couldn't argue.
"Since they always cause trouble, it's better to let them stay ho quietly — they don't want to do quests anyway."
His words made Aqua and gumin glare at him angrily.
There was so truth to what he said.
But while Adam knew Aqua preferred lounging around, wasn't gumin usually eager to adventure? Why had she beco as reclusive as that goddess?
"Well, um..." gumin struggled to explain.
"Because gumin needed my advice about sothing." Aqua interjected, speaking for her friend.
Advice? About cooking in nothing but an apron?
He couldn't help rembering that captivating sight from the previous night. It had been truly srizing!
But Adam needed to make sothing clear:
Let him state this one more ti — he was definitely not a lolicon!
{FBI/N: Yeah, right. We know it, pal…}
