Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours! Chapter 8: Make Them Have Children
Adrian Grant sneered inwardly.
Does leaving with nothing an nothing happened?
However, he had already been humiliated.
This deception and concealnt were utterly devoid of moral constraints.
How could he easily let her go?
Adrian Grant slamd the accelerator, and the car swiftly entered the Grant Family’s old mansion, with servants hastily coming to open the car doors for them.
They nodded respectfully at them:
"Young Master, Young Madam."
Raina Lowell responded politely, noting Adrian Grant’s dark and aloof expression, as if soone owed him money.
She took the initiative to get closer to him, her voice soft and gentle.
"Should we pretend to be in love like before?"
Previously, every ti they returned, they would hold hands and feign affection.
Although they were physically a married couple, there had been no emotional progress.
During the day, they were almost like polite strangers, each living their own life.
Only at night, in bed, did they act like a real couple.
Thinking about their current divorce discussions.
Raina Lowell truly didn’t know how to interact with this man now.
Adrian Grant, suppressing the discomfort in his heart, still took the initiative to hold Raina Lowell’s delicate hand and led her inside.
Raina Lowell didn’t refuse and obediently followed beside him.
It was dinner ti.
Old Master Grant, due to poor health, couldn’t even get out of bed, so he wasn’t at the table.
In the dining room, Mr. and Mrs. Grant had just sat down.
Old Master Grant had five children under him.
But only one son and four daughters.
The four daughters were all married, so settled abroad, others in different cities.
Even the youngest daughter, though in Southgate, rarely ca ho.
So in this house, there were just the old master, Mr. and Mrs. Grant, and a bunch of servants.
The butler guided Raina Lowell and Adrian Grant to the dining room and pulled out chairs for them.
Raina Lowell saw the dignified, elegant, and well-dressed father-in-law and mother-in-law and politely nodded:
"Dad, Mom."
Mr. and Mrs. Grant were not satisfied with this daughter-in-law.
After all, she ca from the countryside, hardly worthy of their family born to be a prince’s son.
Moreover, the two had a full decade age difference.
Had it not been for Raina Lowell’s grandfather being comrades and having saved their father, their father would never have pressured Adrian to marry her.
But since they were already married, they couldn’t say much more and just accepted her as their daughter-in-law.
Raina Lowell, no matter what, still had a face that was pleasing to the eye.
That face was round and fair, with thick eyebrows and big eyes, skin so tender it seed impossible to break.
Anyone who didn’t know would think she was a wealthy daughter raised in a prominent family.
So Mr. and Mrs. Grant weren’t harsh with her.
The two elderly signaled the young couple to sit.
Raina Lowell sat down and, not seeing grandpa, asked worriedly:
"Mom and Dad, where’s Grandpa? Why didn’t he co?"
Mrs. Grant, with exquisite makeup and an elegant deanor.
Her speaking attitude seed uninviting to strangers.
"Your grandpa’s health hasn’t been great lately, after dinner, take so food up to him."
Sadness filled Raina Lowell’s eyes, as she wanted to get up to visit grandpa imdiately.
But Mrs. Grant, with a stern look, ordered, "Sit down, I have sothing to tell you."
Raina Lowell reluctantly sat back in her chair, lowering her head.
Mrs. Grant was sowhat domineering.
With her around, there was no place for her husband to speak.
She stared at Raina Lowell, her expression cold:
"You’ve been registered with Adrian for a year now, ideally at your age, it should be easy to get pregnant, why hasn’t there been any news?"
After all, she was only 24, the perfect age to have children.
Given that she had only one son, Mrs. Grant still wanted to hold a grandson soon.
Raina Lowell’s heart sank.
The sudden question made her feel exceptionally nervous and guilty.
Dare she say she’d never be able to have children again?
If she said it, would they imdiately force Adrian to divorce her?
In truth, only by being honest could she regain her freedom, right?
Raising her head to look at her mother-in-law, Raina Lowell opened her mouth to confess her infertility.
Who would’ve thought Adrian Grant would answer before her:
"We’ve taken asures, not planning on having kids."
Raina Lowell instinctively looked at him.
Confused, not understanding why this old man would speak for her.
Since they registered and slept in the sa bed, they hadn’t taken any precautions.
This man lied in front of the elders, was he helping her?
Raina Lowell was sowhat puzzled by his intent.
"Why take asures?"
Mrs. Grant looked seriously at her son.
"Aren’t you aware of your age? Besides, your grandpa’s health is declining daily, his wish is not only for you to marry her but also for you both to have a child soon."
She turned to Raina Lowell and commanded:
"From today, start preparing for pregnancy, strive to conceive soon, so your grandpa won’t leave with regret."
Raina Lowell kept her head down, unsure how to respond.
She had been declared infertile by doctors after giving birth to Aurora and Evelyn.
And she couldn’t confess now that she’d already given birth to soone else’s children.
Otherwise, her grandpa would surely be angered to death.
Her father-in-law and mother-in-law would further despise her.
So only by divorcing quickly could she escape unscathed.
Adrian Grant glanced at the little woman beside him, noticing her nervous hands entangled together, guilt and panic written all over her face.
He didn’t understand how she could be so composed.
Even at this crucial mont, she was unwilling to confess about having two children.
But he didn’t bother, casually agreeing with his mother’s words:
"Alright, when we return, we’ll have kids."
Mrs. Grant saw her son agree but noticed Raina Lowell looked extrely pale.
She asked, "Do you have any issues?"
Raina Lowell hurriedly shook her head, "No, no problem."
Mrs. Grant was relieved and shared so advice.
"Preparing for pregnancy ans adjusting your routine, I heard you’re still working outside, stop starting now.
If you’re truly bored, enroll in a pregnancy preparation class, the teacher will guide you on how to conceive easily."
Raina Lowell’s heart was in her throat, yet she didn’t dare to confess the truth and had to nod quietly with her head down.
She truly felt having this al with her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and Adrian Grant was too suffocating.
She ate a bit, quickly made an excuse to deliver so food to the elderly, and hastily escaped.
Adrian Grant watched her hurriedly fleeing back, his eyes darkened.
His heart was inexplicably sour and bitter, it felt utterly unpleasant.
With Raina Lowell gone, Mrs. Grant scolded with a stern face:
"Don’t think I don’t know you were tangled with Isabelle Everett again recently."
"Since you’re married, you should act like a husband. No matter how bad she is, she’s young and marrying you at your age, it’s a convenience."
"If you dare to do anything outrageous in this marriage to upset your grandpa, I won’t let you off easily."
