Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours! Chapter 44: Raina Lowell Goes Missing, Adrian Grant Panics
Watching the child cry so heartbreakingly, with tears and snot streaming down her face.
Adrian Grant felt a tug at his heart and stepped forward to ask Ms. Ford:
"What happened?"
Ms. Ford quickly explained, "This afternoon, Aurora played hide and seek with us, and while hiding, she disappeared. We just can’t find her anywhere."
"Later, I inford Miss Lowell. I’m not sure if she went to the police, but she hasn’t returned yet."
Evelyn cried out:
"Uncle Adrian, sothing must have happened to my sister and mom. Can you help look for them?"
If mom weren’t in trouble, she would definitely call him back.
But it’s been so long, and there’s not a single call; they still can’t reach mom.
Mom must have t with an accident.
Adrian Grant took out his phone and saw that Raina Lowell had called him an hour ago. He dialed her number again.
The call went through, but no one answered.
He was genuinely afraid sothing had happened to that woman; he wouldn’t be able to explain it to Grandpa.
Adrian Grant looked at Caleb Landon and instructed:
"She drove my car out. Send soone to search for it."
Thinking that Raina Lowell is 24 years old and not stupid, she’d handle whatever ca her way.
Maybe she really went to the police station.
Caleb Landon nodded and left.
Adrian Grant looked at little Evelyn, who still wanted to go out, and his voice softened considerably.
"You’re just a child; you won’t be much help outside. Stay inside with the auntie; my people will bring back your mom and sister soon enough."
Little Evelyn still had teary eyes, sobbing in grief.
"I want my sister and mom to be safe, Uncle Adrian. They’ll co back safely, right?"
Adrian Grant nodded, "They will."
He didn’t know why, but he had felt uneasy on his way back.
Even now, there was a sharp pain coming from his heart.
After Ms. Ford led the child inside, Adrian Grant also went in and sat in the living room to wait.
Elias Sheridan arrived, grumbling.
"Can you two stop dragging into your affairs? I have my pride, damn it."
Previously, Raina Lowell had warned him with hostility not to co over again.
Yet here it was, and Adrian Grant had called him out again in the dead of night.
He was being treated like a slave; it was downright disrespectful.
Adrian Grant’s face was solemn as he extended his hand:
"Help check my pulse; I feel uncomfortable."
Elias Sheridan noticed that the man’s face indeed looked quite bad.
Despite his displeasure, he sat down to carefully take Adrian Grant’s pulse.
After a mont, he looked at Adrian Grant and asked, "What’s making you so anxious?"
The man’s pulse was beating too fast.
"I’m not anxious; it’s just that my chest feels tight and painful."
Adrian Grant denied it, but his mind was still on Raina Lowell.
He didn’t understand why she called an hour earlier.
And now she wasn’t answering his calls; why?
Could sothing really have happened to her?
Withdrawing his hand, Adrian Grant took out his phone and opened an app, inputting Raina Lowell’s phone number to locate her.
What he found, he could hardly believe.
The location of Raina Lowell was in a forest near the coast on the outskirts.
The location on the phone was right by the edge of a cliff.
Adrian Grant suddenly felt a bit panicked.
He stood up abruptly and called Caleb Landon.
The call connected, and he instructed, "I found out Raina Lowell is near Westshore. Drive over imdiately and see what’s going on."
After hanging up, Adrian Grant was still restless.
He asked Elias Sheridan, "Do you think this woman might do sothing foolish when she’s angry?"
He wondered if she got jealous because he took care of Isabelle Everett and went out on her own for so air!
Perhaps she took her daughter with her.
"What’s going on between you and Raina Lowell now?"
Seeing Adrian Grant’s worry, Elias Sheridan casually asked.
He really didn’t want to get involved in their business.
It’s late at night; can’t people get so rest?
Adrian Grant naturally didn’t bla himself.
He gave an irrelevant answer, "Am I okay? If you think I’m fine, then you can leave."
"Ridiculous."
Elias Sheridan muttered a curse under his breath, stood up, and walked away.
After he left, Adrian Grant was still anxious.
He returned to his room, but still hadn’t heard back from Caleb Landon about finding Raina Lowell.
Not until the next morning.
The phone call from Caleb Landon finally ca.
After a night’s wait, Adrian Grant had gradually cald himself, and he spoke first:
"Go ahead, did she hide with her daughter to deliberately make worry?"
That must be it.
Won love to act like this, wanting to do sothing drastic to ensure he focused all his attention on her.
Given that she had a child with another man, he couldn’t possibly treat her the sa as before.
Caleb Landon paused for a long ti before his voice choked up:
"Boss, we found madam’s phone at the edge of the cliff. It seems she drove off the cliff; my n and the police are searching the sea."
Adrian Grant was speechless.
Standing in his loungewear in the room, it was like a blow to the head, leaving him in shock for so ti.
When he finally reacted, his voice was hoarse:
"What did you say?"
Caleb Landon repeated, "I said she drove off the cliff, chances are slim."
This ti, Adrian Grant heard it clearly.
Raina Lowell drove off a cliff?
How could she have driven off a cliff?
She has two children to care for, a grandfather backing her, and a life full of potential—why would she drive off a cliff, in good health and all?
Adrian Grant tried hard to stay calm, analyzing steadily:
"Listen to ; Raina Lowell wouldn’t think that way. If she accidentally fell off the cliff, you wouldn’t have found her phone."
"This must be one of her tricks; she must be hiding."
He simply didn’t believe Raina Lowell would give up.
The reason she drove to Westshore was to give the illusion that she was down on her luck.
She might well be living it up sowhere with her daughter now.
Over the phone, Caleb Landon said:
"We’ll fish the car out to take a look; I’ll also continue deploying people to search for the madam and Aurora."
Adrian Grant hung up the phone.
He refused to believe Raina Lowell had been in an accident.
At this mont, a child’s cries ca from outside the window again.
Adrian Grant knew it was Evelyn.
He changed his clothes and went downstairs.
In the villa courtyard, little Evelyn had waited all night but couldn’t wait any longer for mom and sister and demanded to go out to search.
Ms. Ford and Madam Cole blocked him, trying to persuade him fervently.
But little Evelyn didn’t listen, opened his mouth to bite them, wanting them to let him go.
Adrian Grant ca out and scolded:
"Evelyn Lowell, can you be a little more obedient? Your mom might bring your sister back later."
Hearing this, little Evelyn turned his head towards the man on the steps, furious:
"Liar, you said they’d co back last night; where are they?"
"You don’t have the ability to help find mom and sister; you’re not fit to be my dad, and I don’t want you as my dad. I’ll go find them myself."
With that, he forcefully pulled away from Ms. Ford’s hand and took off running.
