"Hao... Chairman Hao!"

Zheng Hui, confined in the iron cage, rubbed his eyes upon seeing Hao Jian's face. Realizing it was really him, he hurriedly ran to Hao Jian, full of disbelief.

"Why... Why did you co here?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Zheng Hui suddenly thought of sothing terrifying. He quickly grabbed Hao Jian's hand, anxious, "Chairman Hao, did they capture you too?!"

"I see there's no one from their side with you now. You should find a chance to leave quickly. These people... they're conducting so horrifying experints!"

"After I got here, I heard them saying we are guinea pigs for their experints..."

Seeing Zheng Hui's anxious expression, Hao Jian awkwardly rubbed his nose. It was tough getting here to rescue this guy, and now this guy wants him to leave?

Shaking his head silently, Hao Jian slowly placed his hand on the lock of the cage. With a burst of Qi Force from his palm, he broke the lock, opened the iron door, and looked at Zheng Hui with displeasure, "Aren't you coming out yet?"

"You've been trapped here for two days. How long do you plan to stay?"

"Uh... what's going on?"

Staring blankly at everything Hao Jian did, Zheng Hui was utterly lost. Was he dreaming? Why would his boss co to such a godforsaken place to rescue him?

Shaking his head, Zheng Hui laughed at himself, "I must be dreaming."

"..."

Watching Zheng Hui's actions, Hao Jian was speechless. Initially, he thought this guy was genuinely concerned about his safety, a good employee. Now suddenly, he's denying the reality of this situation? Even suspecting it's a dream?!

Damn! I worked my ass off to kill so many scumbags just to rescue you, and now you think

rescuing you is a dream?!

Thinking this, Hao Jian was infuriated. He gave Zheng Hui a displeased look, raised his hand, and smacked Zheng Hui hard, sending him flying to the other side of the cage with a bang.

Zheng Hui's face twisted from the pain, but it was okay, Hao Jian didn't really use much force — it was just to make this guy feel pain and wake up.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch..."

Enduring the pain, Zheng Hui stood up painfully. Under the stimulus of this pain, he finally regained his senses. Looking up, he saw Hao Jian at the door, cracking a grin that was sowhat bitter.

Why did the boss use so much force? I'm just a negotiator, my body can't take such a beating...

"Seems like you're awake now, so let's go."

Noticing the slightly aggrieved look on this guy's face, Hao Jian felt goosebumps, and didn't dare to linger with him any longer. After giving him a light glance, he turned away.

"Chairman Hao... wait, I..."

Seeing Hao Jian about to leave, Zheng Hui quickly stepped forward, heading toward the door. Although Hao Jian's slap sent him against the wall, it didn't cause much of an injury, and after several seconds of recovery, he was slowly back to normal.

Besides, this ti his boss ca in person. No way could he let his boss look down on him! After all, he is a mber of this elite six-person team, and it was because of this situation that he ended up captured here, leaving him in an awkward position.

If he hadn't foolishly gone to the bar, none of this would have happened.

Does the boss have a bad impression of

now?

Zheng Hui smiled bitterly in self-mockery and stepped out of the iron cage that held him for two days. The four or five als he ate here were never enough. Even now, his stomach was still growling. This morable place, he probably will never forget it.

Even soone like Zheng Hui, who couldn't stand being here for more than a day or two, not to ntion those who've been here for over a month, carrying the stench of not bathing for a month.

In a place like this cave, having food is already a blessing, let alone bathing? In this base, whenever there was free ti, people would run to a junction several mountains over, where there happened to be a small lake, which was their bathing spot.

As for Zheng Hui, being a test subject, leaving this iron cage was absolutely impossible. The only possibility to leave the cage would be to be taken as a test subject for their experints.

Now, if Hao Jian told Zheng Hui that there are still people left in this base, asking him to stay, maybe he wouldn't dare to stay. In a place like this, he can't wait to leave imdiately.

This thought existed in both Zheng Hui and those rescued by Hao Jian; in such a terrifying place, it's best to avoid staying if possible.

"By the way, help

make a call and get those police officers to co and deal with the issues here. Make sure they bring all their gear; there are quite a few patients here..."

As Hao Jian walked ahead, he suddenly rembered sothing. He casually tossed his phone to Zheng Hui, who was not far from the cage door, and without looking back, he proceeded to the next cage, waved a hand, and rescued the person inside.

"Alright, Chairman Hao..."

This ti, he had to perform well; his earlier performance hadn't left a good impression on Hao Jian. Now that he had a chance, he naturally needed to show his best, lest his position be in jeopardy when they returned.

For this unfounded worry of Zheng Hui, Hao Jian was unaware. Even if he knew, he wouldn't say anything; as long as the company's talent reached the elite level, they couldn't be easily dismissed, as their actions affected the entire company.

Of course, for soone like Hao Jian, it didn't matter much what others thought; whoever needed to be removed was removed, and whoever stayed was left.

"Thank you..."

"Thank you..."

In the following half an hour, "thank you" were the words Hao Jian heard the most. Everyone he rescued kept thanking him, so even knelt before him reverently, as if he were their deity.

For these people's thanks and kneeling, Hao Jian accepted them all. These people had just experienced a life-and-death struggle; further stimulation might make it unimaginable for them to return to normal life.

Except for people like Zheng Hui, who had only been locked up for a day or two and felt nothing, others had been imprisoned for at least a week, constantly fearing being taken as test subjects and dying unknown deaths.

Under these layers of pressure, their already fragile hearts had been tortured beyond recognition.

At their most desperate and fearful point, Hao Jian appeared, saving them with an unmatched and divine aura.

When people in desperation encounter divine salvation, in that instant, they complete their faith in that entity, believing everything they do is for this deity.

If Hao Jian were to reject their thanks or kneeling now, they might feel that their savior, appearing at their dire ti, was showing pity and abandonnt.

Such a result would worsen their condition, sothing Hao Jian understood well from past experiences as the God of Death when he once saved people in similar situations.

However, those people's fears were far more terrifying than those here, and his indifference then led to so committing suicide later.

This incident troubled Hao Jian for days, affecting his appetite, but fortunately, he resolved it himself and made the necessary ands.

Even though the situation here was much less severe, having learned from the past, he wouldn't recklessly act as before.

Moreover, these people were intellectuals; they would likely recover in a few days.

After half an hour's effort, Hao Jian rescued everyone in Zone Two, leaving only those in Zone One.

Among the people in Zone One, so were tortured beyond recognition, while others had lost the will to live.

This situation couldn't be resolved by Hao Jian alone; they had to wait for the police and dical personnel to arrive. Hao Jian had already given Zheng Hui the location when he tossed his phone.

Now nearly half an hour had passed; the police and dical staff were also on their way. Despite the challenging mountain roads, they should be arriving soon.

But there was a large pit filled with corpses blocking the only main road, and the nearby paths couldn't accommodate small vehicles.

Hence, ten minutes later, Hao Jian heard sounds from outside the cave. As soon as he heard them, he stood up abruptly.

His reaction made those he had rescued behind him tense up, their faces changing as they stood alongside him, eyes filled with concern.

Right now, Hao Jian was their hope. If he faced trouble he couldn't handle, the hope they struggled to achieve would shatter again.

Just thinking about returning to such a place made them tremble uncontrollably, especially the won, whose eyes misted over as if tears might fall any mont.

"Calm down, they're not enemies!"

Hao Jian noticed the situation behind him as soon as he stood up, frowning. If he had known his actions would cause such a chain reaction, he might not have stood up at all.
