Chapter 678: Chapter 672: Canyon

Crossing through the area of palaces, Ye Xuan and Tang Xinlian arrived at a canyon, which was closed off on all sides. From the outside, it looked as though one could only enter but not exit, as there appeared to be no way out.

Ye Xuan had not initially intended to bring Tang Xinlian along, but since she insisted on following, he had no other choice. However, though she was with him, Ye Xuan, who had saved her just earlier, would not do much more for her. If any great danger arose and he couldn’t reach her, he couldn’t be blad for not intervening.

Taking out a page from the Earth Emperor Book from the Qiankun Ring, the fragnt emitted a faint light, the unique patterns on it flickering as if responding to a summons.

“It seems the Earth Emperor Book should be within this canyon.”

All the way here, Ye Xuan had been sensing movents from the Earth Emperor Book’s fragnt. After reaching this spot, the ergence of this phenonon assuredly indicated it was sensing its main body.

“The Demonic Qi here is dense; this is no good place. Should we really go in?”

Tang Xinlian, looking at the stern black Qi drifting above the canyon, also felt sowhat faint-hearted, realizing this must be the core area where the demons reside.

“Of course, if you’re scared, just stay outside.”

Ye Xuan glanced at Tang Xinlian. In any event, having her follow him wasn’t of any use; she might even beco a burden.

He was determined to enter to search for the Earth Emperor Book, even if it was a den of dragons and tigers.

After lingering a mont in place, Ye Xuan quickly dashed into the canyon.

“Since we’ve co this far, naturally we should go in and see.”

Tang Xinlian saw Ye Xuan dash down and, after hesitating briefly, followed him.

Inside the canyon.

Upon entering, they noticed that the clusters of figures around them had thinned out. The view ahead also beca much more desolate. The interior of the canyon was much wider than expected, resembling a massive tunnel.

In the sky above, one could faintly see streaks of light flashing by, rapidly heading towards the depths of the canyon.

Ye Xuan and Tang Xinlian exchanged glances. Both imdiately sped up, racing towards the deeper parts of the canyon. After about ten more minutes, their speed began to slow.

In the remote distance ahead, at the center of the canyon, there erged a boundless open area, already surrounded by many figures.

Waves of strong True Yuan fluctuations rippled out, causing the Spiritual Energy in the atmosphere to oscillate.

Various powerful figures had gathered here.

Seeing the cluster of powerful figures, Ye Xuan couldn’t help feeling a bit surprised at their speed.

Both flew half-suspended in the air before nearing the vast open area and, as they approached, they discovered enormous black stone columns rising to the skies within that open area.

These columns filled their line of sight, each rising a thousand feet tall. On the columns, one could vaguely see so patterns, but due to the passage of ti, these seed sowhat blurred.

The entire massive canyon emitted an inexplicable aura that, strangely, caused a slight tremor deep within one’s soul—an inclination as if lower beings were eting a superior.

Under that aura, even the Spiritual Energy of the area beca calm, as if unable to defy the pressure emitted by that aura.

“What terrible pressure. The Saint actually possesses such fearso pressure. So, just what level of strength has he achieved?”

Tang Xinlian trembled as she spoke.

“This isn’t the Saint’s pressure.”

Ye Xuan shook his head. “The Saint’s strength cannot reach this level.”

“Then who is it?”

Tang Xinlian’s pretty face changed slightly, sowhat surprised.

“I don’t know.”

Ye Xuan still shook his head, but he didn’t actually lack knowledge. He could guess that this oppressive force might belong to the Earth Emperor among the Three Emperors, that supre power from the ancient era.

All the powerful beings who had arrived here had a rather solemn expression. For them, that aura was overwhelmingly powerful. Thankfully, it was just a remnant, but even so, it was enough to instill fear in many.

Because that was absolute suppression.

Ye Xuan and Tang Xinlian moved toward the edge of the clearing, and as they appeared, a chilling presence also erged in the distance.

There, clad in black robes with a cold deanor, stood the Shadow Alliance Hierarch, Hei Sha.

Ye Xuan turned his head and imdiately narrowed his eyes slightly. There, a group of about thirty people congregated, all dressed in black robes. His pupils constricted when he saw Hei Sha.

“What’s wrong?”

Sensing Ye Xuan’s unusual behavior, Tang Xinlian also asked quietly.

“It’s the people from the Shadow Alliance. That night when we were ambushed, it was most likely perpetrated by them.” Ye Xuan wasn’t concerned about hiding it; there was definitely a connection between that night’s attackers from the Alien Clan and the Shadow Alliance.

“What?”

Tang Xinlian paused, bafflent quickly giving way to wariness in her beautiful eyes. These people had colluded with the Alien Clan to ambuscade them?

“What do we do now?” Tang Xinlian stepped back, positioning herself behind Ye Xuan. The enemies were nurous and aggressive. If a fight broke out, they wouldn’t stand a chance.

“Why are you afraid? We are just minor characters to them. We should keep doing what we would normally do.”

Ye Xuan shook his head helplessly. The Shadow Alliance, after all, was rely a faction of the Crown Prince Party and would ultimately not dare to blatantly confront the Heavenly Martial Holy Land. Furthermore, they weren’t important figures; even if a fight was warranted, there was no need to specifically target just the two of them.

“Oh.”

Tang Xinlian nodded, but her curiosity about Ye Xuan was growing. How did he know so much?

“You little bastard, you really are here!”

As Tang Xinlian pondered, suddenly, a murderous shout erupted like thunder.

Ye Xuan’s eyelid twitched and his gaze followed the sound. He saw a sinister silhouette, whose eyes were as malevolent as a demon’s, fixed on him.

“Isn’t that Mu Yan, the disciple? Why is he looking at you like that?”

Tang Xinlian was also unnerved by Mu Yan’s horrifying gaze. After all, Mu Yan was a Saint of the Holy Land, and his reputation was well known among the disciples.

“Can’t you tell? He wants to kill . And he might kill you too.”

Ye Xuan stated emotionlessly.

“Ah?”

Tang Xinlian’s pretty face turned pale. Mu Yan was a Saint of the Holy Land whose cultivation dwarfed theirs significantly. The people from the Shadow Alliance were already frightening enough; how were even their own so terrifying?

“Aren’t you running?”

Seeing Tang Xinlian’s reaction, Ye Xuan thought this might be a good opportunity to slip away, and moreover, it wasn’t necessary to involve anyone else in this matter.

“I won’t run. You just saved ; how could I flee now?”

Tang Xinlian drew her sword, ready to face whatever ca alongside Ye Xuan.
