The carriage was allowed through the gates. Inside, the compound was bustling with activity.
Disciples trained in open courtyards. Elders discussed matters in shaded pavilions. The atmosphere was organized and efficient.
They stopped at a building near the center of the compound. The guard gestured toward the entrance.
"Core Disciple Xian Yu is recovering in the guest quarters on the second floor. Room seven."
Xian Tiandi nodded his thanks and entered the building.
The interior was well maintained, with polished wooden floors and walls decorated with sect symbols and calligraphy.
He climbed the stairs to the second floor and found room seven easily. Before he could knock, the door opened.
Yu’er stood there, still wearing recovery robes but looking significantly better than the last ti he’d seen her.
Color had returned to her face, and though she still moved carefully, her eyes were clear and alert.
"Big Brother," she said, her voice warm with genuine affection. "Co in."
The room was spacious and comfortable.
A large bed dominated one side, and several cushioned chairs were arranged near a window that overlooked a small garden.
dical supplies and spirit pills were neatly organized on a side table.
But Xian Tiandi’s attention was imdiately drawn to the woman standing near the window.
She was breathtaking in a way that transcended re physical beauty.
Her features were delicate yet commanding, with high cheekbones and eyes that held the depth of countless years.
Long black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall of midnight silk, held in place by an elegant jade hairpin.
Her robes were pristine white with golden phoenix embroidery along the sleeves and hem, marking her status as the sect leader.
But what struck Xian Tiandi most was her presence. Not the overwhelming spiritual pressure that higher ranked cultivators often projected, but sothing gentler.
Warm.
Like standing in sunlight after a long winter. Her aura radiated kindness and wisdom in equal asure.
She turned as he entered, and a soft smile touched her lips. The expression transford her face, making her seem almost motherly despite her youthful appearance.
"You must be Xian Tiandi," she said. Her voice was lodious, carrying a natural warmth that put people at ease. "Yu’er has told so much about you. I am Yue Lian, sect leader of the Four Symbols Sect."
Xian Tiandi bowed respectfully. "Sect Leader Yue. It’s an honor to et you."
As he straightened, his mind raced with recognition. Yue Lian. In his past life, he’d heard that na spoken with reverence and sorrow in equal asure.
She had been one of the great pillars of the Red Leaf Kingdom. A great cultivator of extraordinary power and even greater character.
When the chaos had erupted in the kingdom during his previous tiline, when the Four Spirits Sect being one of those causing trouble launched their final assault, Yue Lian had stood at the front lines.
She had died in that battle. Fallen protecting her disciples and the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. Her death had been the catalyst that led to the Four Symbols Sect’s ultimate collapse.
Xian Tiandi felt a strange pang in his chest as he looked at her now. Alive. Smiling gently. Full of life and hope for the future.
’So many things will change because of my rebirth,’ he thought quietly. ’Variables I couldn’t have predicted. Events that will unfold differently. But I’ll adapt. I always do.’
’After all, when I rose to the peak of the universe in my past life, I had no knowledge of the future. I built everything from nothing, facing each challenge as it ca. Now that I’ve been given this second chance, with everything I know, my rise will be faster. Stronger. Unstoppable.’
’And perhaps this ti, Yue Lian won’t have to die defending her sect from traitors.’
"Please, sit," Yue Lian said, gesturing to the chairs. Her movents were graceful, unhurried. "We have much to discuss."
Yu’er settled into one chair, and Xian Tiandi took another. Yue Lian remained standing by the window, the afternoon light creating a soft halo around her figure.
"First, let thank you properly," Yue Lian began. Her eyes t Xian Tiandi’s directly, and he saw genuine gratitude there.
"You saved Yu’er’s life. Not just from danger, but from a situation that would have killed her. As her master and as soone who cares for her deeply, I am in your debt."
"Yu’er is family to . I only did what I was ant to do," Xian Tiandi said simply.
"You did far more than that," Yue Lian replied gently. "According to the reports I received, you arrived at exactly the right mont and sohow prevented an assassination from succeeding. The Shadow Piercing Thorn is designed to be unstoppable once launched, yet it failed to kill Yu’er."
She paused, studying him thoughtfully. "The artifact must have malfunctioned. Such treasures are notoriously unstable, especially when maintained by evil cultivators who cut corners in their refinent process. You were fortunate that it backfired at such a critical mont."
Xian Tiandi nodded, accepting the explanation without comnt. It was clear that no one attributed the artifact’s reversal to him directly. They’d simply concluded it was defective.
Good. The less attention drawn to his Supre Taming Dao, the better.
"But what truly impresses ," Yue Lian continued, "is how you knew Yu’er was in danger in the first place. I learned you have a tracking technique?"
"Yes," Xian Tiandi confird. "I placed it on Yu’er before she left on her mission. It alerted when she was in distress."
Xian Yu looked curious too as she didn’t know her brother had begun cultivation at that ti.
She decided to be silent for now and have a talk with him in private later.
Yue Lian’s expression shifted to genuine interest. "That’s remarkable. I myself use a tracking technique on my core disciples, but it has limitations. The technique cannot penetrate barrier formations or secret realms. The spiritual signal gets blocked."
She moved closer, her curiosity evident. "Yet your technique sohow transmitted Yu’er’s distress through a sealed secret realm and across significant distance. That level of sophistication is extraordinary. Where did you learn such a thod?"
"I acquired it by chance," Xian Tiandi explained. "On a particular day, there was a cultivator’s gathering. An old vendor was selling various techniques and artifacts. Most were clearly fake or useless."
