Chapter 1738: Chapter 1595: Unknown Territory, Evil Temple

The sky was dim and pitch-black, with fiery clouds drifting by from ti to ti.

On the vast black land, atop a solitary ice altar, lay two people embraced in slumber, a thin blanket draped over their bodies.

Jinrou Bai’s smooth, rounded shoulder peeked out, barely covered by the thin blanket.

Beside her, Chu Mu was lying flat on his back, allowing Princess Jinrou to rest against his chest. His eyes were open, staring up at the dim heavens.

The sky of the Nightmare Demon Sacred Realm was devoid of stars, shrouded year-round in thick black clouds. Yet, the darkness carried a mix of fear and tranquility, giving one the illusion that the entire world consisted only of themselves and their companion—free from the burdens of thought or concern.

“Chu Mu, your body is so hot,” Jinrou Bai said, patting Chu Mu’s chest.

“Yeah, I absorbed too much negative energy. The Black ** Fla has begun to dominate my attributes,” Chu Mu responded, explaining the cultivation issues he was experiencing.

“Isn’t this a sign of transformation into a demon again?” Princess Jinrou asked.

“I don’t know. If my attributes skew further, my powers will be harder to control,” Chu Mu replied.

“Have you been to the Evil Temple?” Princess Jinrou asked.

“I only checked the outside,” Chu Mu said flatly.

“Your Black Nightmare Demon Power originated from the Evil Temple. You should investigate—there might be clues. Why don’t we go now? It’s not too far,” Princess Jinrou suggested.

“Now?” Chu Mu was reluctant to bring the newly awakened Jinrou Bai to such an enigmatic place.

“Co on! There might be new discoveries. The Thousand-year Age Powerhouses and Ten Thousand Year Roulette Strong Ones you told about—they should theoretically be undying, possessing unrivaled longevity. No enemy could kill them—they might still exist in this world… Unknown places like the Evil Temple surely record even more ancient tales,” Princess Jinrou said, her eyes sparkling brightly.

Chu Mu noticed Princess Jinrou’s particular fascination with unsolved mysteries. The Evil Temple was indeed a unique existence—conceivably hiding answers, perhaps even shedding light on the origins of Nightmare Demon, this peculiar evil race.

Princess Jinrou knew Chu Mu had a profound curiosity as well. Sensing his intrigue, she eagerly pulled him to his feet, excitent in her movents.

The thin blanket slipped from her fragrant shoulder as she moved. In her ghostly form, Princess Jinrou was already accustod to this and didn’t realize her awkward state until Chu Mu’s gaze caught her.

“Should we wait a bit before leaving?” Chu Mu raised his brows in suggestion.

Bai Jinrou’s cheeks flushed bright red.

Her mind-reading abilities still worked, and she could often instantly discern Chu Mu’s thoughts. Hastily, she covered herself with the blanket, adamantly refusing his advances.

Unbothered by acting like a gentleman, Chu Mu leaned in and kissed her delicate earlobe. As the kisses continued, the sensitive little princess seed to lt, turning into a docile lamb under his touch.

After being revived, Bai Jinrou retained her powers as a Magic Spirit, moving by floating rather than walking.

Chu Mu, capable of flight himself, parted from her reluctantly after a long, lingering intimacy.

Having spent considerable ti in the Nightmare Demon Sacred Realm, Chu Mu thought it wise to return briefly to Wanxiang City—his companions would undoubtedly be worried. Even if he planned to visit the Evil Temple, notifying Liu Binglan and Ye Qingzi first seed prudent. It wouldn’t take long anyway.

Princess Jinrou chose to remain with the Demon Spirit Tribe, addressing so matters that required her attention.

Back in Wanxiang City, Chu Mu noticed remarkable changes. There were more people bustling about the streets, reminiscent of the city’s forr prosperity.

Seeing this, Chu Mu felt a sense of relief.

Flying back to his courtyard, Chu Mu encountered Ning Man’er rushing toward him.

Bound by a soul contract with Chu Mu, Ning Man’er could instantly sense his return.

“Ah! So hot!” Ning Man’er exclaid as she reeled back from what had almost been an affectionate hug.

Chu Mu blinked in disbelief at her hand, noticing the burned-black traces on Ning Man’er’s skin.

“Brother, what’s wrong with you? Why did you leave your flas exposed!” Ning Man’er sulked adorably.

Her words caused Chu Mu to realize the faint fiery aura emanating from his skin—the culprit behind her burns.

Man’er’s physique was anything but fragile. If soone as strong as her could be scalded, then most Soul Immortal-level powerhouses wouldn’t be able to approach him at all.

Sure enough, Chu Mu’s explanation to Liu Binglan later had her stepping a ter away from him.

Ye Qingzi stood beside her, gazing at Chu Mu with insightful eyes, as though deciphering sothing. But the most pressing issue was clear: no one could get close to Chu Mu anymore.

Within ten ters, the heat seared intensely; within one ter, it was scalding. Direct physical contact led to burns similar to Ning Man’er’s.

“Chu Mu, could this be a sign of transformation into a demon?” Liu Binglan and Ye Qingzi asked with worry.

Intimately familiar with Chu Mu’s physical condition, both won knew his soul temperature always ran high. His transformation into a half-demon had rendered the flas within him perpetually uncontrollable.

“The overwhelming influence of evil energy within has caused attribute mutations. I didn’t expect the flas to flow out uncontrollably,” Chu Mu said bitterly, glancing at the two, who maintained a cautious distance.

Yet, back in the Nightmare Demon Sacred Realm, during his physical connection with Princess Jinrou, the flas hadn’t seed this severe. Jinrou Bai had ntioned finding his body particularly warm, but not intolerably scorching.

“Should I refine so Ice Elent divine objects for you?” Ye Qingzi offered.

Chu Mu shook his head, knowing the solution wasn’t as simple as using ice attributes to cool himself down.

“I’ll have to dive into cultivating for so ti,” Chu Mu said.

“Can you handle it alone?” Liu Binglan asked.

“I think so. But without external aid, it’ll take a long ti. Besides, I plan to visit the Evil Temple,” Chu Mu answered.

“Alright, but be cautious,” Liu Binglan advised.

Unable to linger in Wanxiang City due to his high temperature, Chu Mu bid a swift goodbye to them and returned to the Nightmare Demon Sacred Realm.

Heading into the Demon Spirit Territory, Chu Mu reunited with Princess Jinrou, and together they ventured toward the Evil Temple.

The Evil Temple lay behind the Nightmare Demon Mountain, shrouded in a frightful aura. Its malignant energy was so intense that even the wicked Nightmare Demon Clan struggled to approach its vicinity.

“Jinrou, are you not feeling overheated?” Chu Mu asked, gesturing at himself.

The faint black flas radiating from within Chu Mu’s skin were increasingly beyond his control, and he worried about injuring others unwittingly. With his current strength having reached the High-Immortality level, many Soul Immortal-level or weaker beings could be incinerated within one ter of him.

“It’s strange, but tolerable,” Princess Jinrou replied.

After unlocking the Demon Ascension power, she had elevated her soul to an unparalleled state. The massive reserves of soul energy contained within the Seal Tower weren’t instantaneously consumable; much of her ti recovering had been spent gradually assimilating it.

The Evil Temple was an inherently perilous space, but with Princess Jinrou now possessing formidable self-preservation abilities, Chu Mu reluctantly agreed to bring her here after her recovery.

For Jinrou Bai, her months of revived life were like an extended, vivid dream. She chose to pursue what intrigued her.

“If I don’t find energy here to restore my attributes, I might need to stay for prolonged cultivation,” Chu Mu conceded.

Extending her delicate hand, Jinrou Bai let her fingers pass through the flickering flas encircling Chu Mu’s body, joking, “Now you understand the agony of not being able to touch others?”

Chu Mu nodded helplessly.

Thankfully, Jinrou Bai’s elevated soul realm ant her body could endure Chu Mu’s intense heat and flas. Were it otherwise, the months they’d reclaid together would amount to distant longing—an unbearably wrenching prospect.

On that note, the Raccoon Elder’s refinent of Living Grass should almost be completed by now.

If the elder’s divine creation succeeded, Bai Yu wouldn’t need to seek the enigmatic Family Head Rong’s aid.

No matter the circumstance, Chu Mu prioritized resolving the issue of his Black Demon Fla.

“I’ve visited this Evil Temple a few tis before. Every ti, I felt an overwhelming sense of danger—it seed like a subconscious warning against entry,” Jinrou Bai said softly.

“Then we should avoid it,” Chu Mu replied, his concern for her safety outweighing curiosity.

“This ti doesn’t feel as intense. Perhaps it only welcos wicked beings like you,” Jinrou Bai teased.

“Funny—I’m genuinely sensing a familiar force pulling in,” Chu Mu said.

Chu Mu wasn’t joking. The intense malign energy enveloping the temple seed to embrace him, guiding his steps toward the depths.
