Chapter 1727: Chapter 1584: The City Still Stands, You Must Hurry There

A terrifying claw strike appeared on the city tower, almost tearing the entire structure in half.

Princess Jinrou was forced back several steps by its strength; however, before her, the strange domain still held firm. The claw strike of Ning Tianyou’s Life Blood Beast did not pierce through Princess Jinrou’s unique domain entirely—only the claw’s force managed to penetrate to the tower.

The city tower of Wanxiang City could never withstand the attack of a High-Immortality-level creature. One could say that Ning Tianyou’s assault had its power significantly reduced after piercing through a barrier and the domain. The city’s defenders needed only a Rock Soul Pet to chant a spell, and the fissures on the tower would be quickly repaired.

“That woman actually withstood the clan leader’s Life Blood Beast’s attack!” The Ning Clan’s leaders were stunned, staring in disbelief at the strange ghostly woman.

The Life Blood Beast was a High-Immortality-level creature. Just one such Soul Pet was enough to wreak catastrophic destruction upon Wanxiang City of the New Moon Land.

Its attacks were supposed to be unstoppable. Yet, that ghostly woman, shrouded in an unknown aura and surrounded by unknown forces, had not only blocked the Ning Clan army entirely outside the city but also resisted the attacks of their clan leader’s Life Blood Beast.

“Don’t stop—keep attacking!!” Ning Tianyou’s sharp gaze swept across the army, and he shouted angrily.

Whether it was a barrier or spiritual protection, with enough power, it could definitely be shattered. Ning Tianyou refused to believe that a ghost could truly withstand his and his entire army’s offensive!!

The Life Blood Beast withdrew a short distance, thick blood energy emanating from its body, overlapping with a sinister blood shadow.

The force of the Blood Beast gathered. Dominating the sky, the Life Blood Beast’s figure looked lofty and imposing, frad by blood shadows and dense blood energy!

“ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

With an arrogant bellow, the Life Blood Beast unleashed a beast soul blood shadow from its body!!

The overwhelming beast soul blood shadow charged fiercely towards the ghostly barrier.

A terrifying flash of blood light erupted where the barrier stood. A single claw capable of crushing the city tower barreled forward, crushing and deforming the ghostly barrier under imnse pressure.

Simultaneously, the Ning Clan’s elental army completed their incantations. A storm of skills followed this beast soul blood shadow, unleashing a relentless bombardnt upon the ghostly barrier!!

The elental barrage, powerful enough to obliterate the middle city, painted the streets with dread. As the people raised their heads, they no longer saw a blue sky but an overwhelming expanse of ominous elental energies, pulsating with death.

Between these destructive forces and the people stood only a fragile barrier. Everyone knew that this thin barrier could not possibly withstand the deluge of skills raining down.

In the streets of the middle city, there was no widespread panic. Those who had nowhere else to flee rely raised their heads and watched as the brilliant yet terrifying elental onslaught detonated on the barrier above—a spectacle both beautiful and horrifying.

The streets, packed with intersecting crowds, stood as dire testimony to human vulnerability. Any stray skill could easily claim the lives of hundreds, or even thousands, in an instant.

The barrier flickered, wavering ominously, leaving people with the dreadful sense that at any mont, it could shatter, bringing deadly teoric destruction upon them.

Yet, the barrier did not break. Beyond it lay another unseen spiritual barrier.

This spiritual barrier was shaped by Princess Jinrou’s willpower. The enemy army’s every attack battered directly against her vast spiritual world.

As long as her spiritual world didn’t collapse, the barrier ford from her thoughts and spirit would not shatter!

“She’s shielding the entire city with her ntal strength.” Holy Guard Captain Yi Wu, wearing a shocked expression, couldn’t believe his eyes as he gazed at the sacred and ethereal woman perched on the rooftop’s edge.

All Soul Pet Masters possessed ntal strength, or Soul Sense. With Soul Sense, they could perceive the world, replace vision, attack others’ spiritual worlds, and form Soul Sense shields to protect their souls.

However, forming a massive barrier with ntal strength to protect an entire city was sothing completely unheard of.

The amount of ntal power required to block an entire army, shielding an entire city from wave after wave of devastating attacks, was unfathomable.

After rging with nearly four thousand ghosts, Princess Jinrou’s body no longer appeared half-transparent.

But each ti she was struck by devastating assaults, especially the attacks from Ning Tianyou’s Life Blood Beast and the other Immortal-level powerhouses, Princess Jinrou’s ghostly glow would dim, and her body would beco a little more transparent.

From her once mysterious and opaque form, her figure began to fade, allowing glimpses of the sky through her body. It was clear that maintaining this protection for the city was rapidly depleting her soul power.

Shen Mo realized that when Princess Jinrou’s body beca fully transparent, with no silhouette left, it would an she and her ghostly power had exhausted all their energy. Ghostly beings relied entirely on spiritual strength, and once that was depleted, it also signified their end…

Her power wasn’t limitless. Although she stood motionless and betrayed no signs of pain, she was straining with everything she had to fight for the last glimr of hope for Wanxiang City.

Shen Mo clenched his fist; he couldn’t allow Princess Jinrou to endure this alone. He and the others had to take action!

He glanced towards the Nightmare Demon Legion swarming atop the city walls.

The Nightmare Demons, numbering around fifty thousand, on average fell short of Emperor level. These were reserves of the Nightmare Demon World Dynasty. They, too, were fighting desperately to buy ti for Wanxiang City.

Shen Mo gritted his teeth and commanded, “New Moon Palace Army, divide into two squads! Use the secret passage to exit the middle city and flank the enemy’s elental army from behind and the sides!”

With that, Shen Mo leaped from the tower, leading one squad of the New Moon Palace Army through the secret passage towards the outer city.

Xia Zhixian watched Shen Mo depart.

Shen Mo’s New Moon Palace Army was heading straight for the unprotected outer city. Their plan to harass the enemy was tantamount to thrusting their necks under the enemies’ machetes.

She couldn’t tell if Shen Mo’s actions were worth it. All he might achieve would be a fleeting mont of hesitation before the enemy struck…

“Beneath the Wanxiang Altar lies a Garden Forest containing a Flower Kill Formation…” Xia Zhixian spoke to Holy Guard Captain Yi Wu.

“Speak plainly, Lord Xia. If the city falls, I won’t have any use for this worthless life of mine,” Yi Wu replied with firm resolve.

“The energy for the Flower Kill Formation must be collected by the Elders. The formation nodes only need to be set in place. However, this formation was originally intended to protect the Imperial Concubine Palace within the Wanxiang Altar. I’ll need ten experts to embed the formation’s anchoring flowers within the enemy forces for it to take effect,” Xia Zhixian explained.

The Flower Kill Formation, designed by Yu Suo, was ant to defend her domain.

The formation was exceptional—its lethality increasing with the number of Energy Crystal Stones sacrificed. At this mont of life and death for Wanxiang City, if the city fell, hoarding those Soul Crystals and Magic Stones would be pointless.

Though Xia Zhixian wasn’t sure if altering the Flower Kill Formation would work, not trying ant losing everything!

“I’ll personally oversee this. Just tell what to do, and I’ll get it done!” Yi Wu resolutely declared without a trace of hesitation.

Embedding the formation nodes within enemy lines…

This task was even more perilous than Shen Mo’s foolhardy diversion!

“The nodes are simple to place. Just bury these seeds in soil sacs,” Xia Zhixian handed so seeds to Yi Wu.

“How many enemies can this formation kill?” asked Holy Guard Captain Jian Feng.

“The energy of two Emperor Soul Crystals can kill one Emperor-level enemy. Two Dominator Soul Crystals can kill one Dominator-level enemy,” Xia Zhixian replied.

Jian Feng took the anchoring seeds and then removed his Space Ring, handing it to Xia Zhixian. “The Soul Crystals in here can kill three more Dominators and twenty Emperors.”

Xia Zhixian froze montarily, holding the ring in her hand…

“Tell where to bury these seeds,” Jian Feng said.

“Near the enemy’s elental army,” Xia Zhixian replied. She suddenly felt her idea cruel, realizing she might have just sent the young Holy Guard Captain to his grave in the enemy’s elental forces…

Jian Feng nodded without further words, his gaze fixed upon the enemies’ elental army from atop the city walls.

“Lord Xia, go set up the main formation. Princess Jinrou can’t hold out much longer. She’s clearly exhausted.” Yi Wu urged, “Leave the rest to us.”

“Alright. Be safe,” Xia Zhixian nodded and flew towards the Wanxiang Altar on her Do Butterfly Queen.

Wave after wave of energy bombarded Princess Jinrou’s spiritual world, throwing it into disarray. Her head felt as though it were splitting apart, yet she bit her lip, her face pale as death.

“That is…” Suddenly, Princess Jinrou spotted a squad.

Leading it was Shen Mo, who had sohow already reached the outer city with his small contingent of New Moon Palace soldiers.

Without the barrier’s protection, there was no way they could withstand the enemy’s massive army.

They would die…

From above the city walls, more figures mounted their Demon Spirits and took off.

These individuals bypassed the protective barrier, exposing themselves to enemy attacks.

These were likely the strongest of the New Moon Guards. Now, they were riding their Demon Spirits to infiltrate the enemy army. Leading them were Holy Guard Captain Yi Wu and the promising young Holy Guard Captain Jian Feng…

Seeing them step out of her barrier’s protection left Princess Jinrou’s heart heavy.

Everyone was making their final efforts for Wanxiang City…

“Chu Mu, the city still stands. You must arrive in ti,” Princess Jinrou silently prayed in her heart.
