…
…
Lin ngling disliked the foul odor emitted by corpses and the pervasive sll of blood.
When she had been guarding the place for thirty days, Chu Mu and Xia Yin opened their eyes only to discover that their surroundings had completely changed, starkly different from the blood-soaked battlefield Chu Mu had left behind.
“ngling, you could have left us so,” Xia Yin said with a bitter smile.
“If you want to collect corpses, go to the Palace of the Undead yourself,” Lin ngling responded irritably.
Lin ngling’s Soul Pet had not exhausted all its strength. During her thirty days of guarding, due in part to the excessive killings by Chu Mu, many races had already been too frightened to barge in, making her guarding task relatively easier compared to Xia Yin and Chu Mu.
After the three of them took turns guarding, the Basin Valley’s cultivation array beca much quieter. In the following days, each of them summoned several Soul Pets to guard within the valley, ensuring that no creatures from Yin Valley dared to approach anymore.
Subsequently, their cultivation went smoothly. Ye, Mo Ye, Ghost Monarch, White Demon, and Little Hiding Dragon all reached the immortal level under Chu Mu’s command. After absorbing Immortal Qi with peace of mind, around the tenth month, Chu Mu began fervently breaking through to the Soul Immortal level.
The process was remarkably smooth. After ten months of nurturing with Immortal Qi, generally, anyone at the Nine Thoughts Soul Controller level could easily advance to the Soul Immortal level as long as their Soul Pets’ ranks weren’t too low.
…
Upon opening his eyes, Chu Mu felt a more formidable strength coursing through his body. If not for the prohibitions of Yin Valley, he would have transford into a half-demon imdiately to gauge how much his strength had improved.
“Did you succeed?” Xia Yin, seeing Chu Mu open his eyes and looking spirited, let a smile spread across his face.
Chu Mu nodded and said, “Yes, Soul Immortal level!”
“You’re so slow, the two of us have been waiting for you for a long ti,” Lin ngling said, sowhat discontented.
Since Xia Yin and Lin ngling had broken through earlier, they couldn’t leave Chu Mu behind, so they had decided to wait here for so ti.
“We still have a month or two before the gates to Yin Valley open. Let’s take advantage of our increased strength and explore Yin Valley; maybe we’ll find sothing valuable,” suggested Xia Yin.
Chu Mu agreed, considering that Dream of Oblivion, now transford into a butterfly, would need a lot of ti to recover its original form. If they could find the relics of the Phoenix Clan, not only could Dream of Oblivion recover swiftly, but perhaps its strength could also rise significantly.
Moreover, Chu Mu rembered Yu Suo ntioning that there was a very powerful creature in Yin Valley.
Yu Suo had already set up a Flower Soul Array where the creature frequently appeared. If Chu Mu could lure it into the Flower Soul Array, Yu Suo could control it.
Currently, Chu Mu’s soul contracts were very limited. Neither the Soul Master Grade nor the Soul Immortal level increased the number of soul contracts and soul numbers he could have; each Soul Pet Master could have only 15 soul contracts. Chu Mu couldn’t casually sign soul contracts with Soul Pets, and while Yu Suo’s Flower Soul Control was akin to signing a soul contract, Chu Mu couldn’t afford to miss out on a powerful Soul Pet either…
“I want to find the relics of the Phoenix Clan,” Chu Mu stated.
“Do you know where it is?” asked Lin ngling.
Chu Mu nodded. Yu Suo had already thoroughly scouted Yin Valley, and although Chu Mu didn’t know what she intended to do with Yin Valley this ti, these were not his concerns.
“Then let’s go together; I don’t have anything else to do,” Xia Yin said.
Xia Yin ca to Yin Valley in search of a rare magic stone material, but he had no clue where to find it in Yin Valley and could only search aimlessly.
Lin ngling also had her own agenda, but she was quite willing to check out the relics of the Phoenix Clan, as the place she needed to visit was actually close to them.
…
Strong creatures were plentiful in Yin Valley, so the three of them did not dare to fly arrogantly through the sky like Martial Cloud Dragon.
After traveling through the dim and dingy land for about three days, they encountered a group of peculiar mountain peaks in front of them.
The mountain peaks rose abruptly from the ground, resembling towering high towers.
Passing through these mountain peaks, the dense dark clouds suddenly dispersed, and a myriad of radiance wove between the towering peaks, casting light upon the grey land.
The hitherto dark and obscure world suddenly beca blazingly bright, the intense light perating the air, making Chu Mu sowhat uncomfortable, given his Dark Attribute.
“Could it be these light restrictions that are suppressing my strength?” Chu Mu mused to himself.
Both the half-demon and the Good and Evil Queen possessed strong malevolent traits; Chu Mu could distinctly feel his strength being severely suppressed as he stepped into this land bathed in light.
Dream of Oblivion, being a Dark Attribute creature, definitely would also feel uncomfortable here.
“Master Li, what’s going on? It was dark just a mont ago, how co there’s suddenly such intense light?” Chu Mu asked.
“`
“Young Master, this independent space seems to be primarily composed of light elents. The spot you were just at was on the side contrary to sunlight, a dead angle where light cannot reach. Usually, many dark creatures and malevolent beings inhabit these dead angles,” said Master Li.
“So, does that an the relics here belong to the Light Phoenix Clan? Dream of Oblivion is of the Dark Attribute Phoenix Clan, it shouldn’t be able to undergo Nirvana Rebirth here in a light attribute Phoenix relic, right?” Chu Mu asked.
“Previously, Dream of Oblivion couldn’t, but it’s hard to say about the current Dream of Oblivion. Death Thunder is a new attribute. The suppression effect of light attributes on Dream of Oblivion is not very strong, which ans there isn’t a severe repulsion between Death Thunder and light,” Master Li explained.
“Alright, let’s find that place first.”
Chu Mu didn’t like this place, and neither did his Soul Pets like Ye, Zhan Ye, and Ghost Monarch. If they were to battle here, their strength would certainly be greatly weakened.
Mo Ye, however, is of the Fire Attribute, which is basically in the sa family as light. It was comfortably lying on Chu Mu’s shoulder, basking in the warm glow of light.
“What is that up ahead?” Lin ngling asked with so surprise, pointing toward the horizon.
Chu Mu looked up and saw a cloud of light forming in the sky.
The cloud radiated a milky-white brilliance, holy and bright as if a fairyland in the form of a radiant halo was floating.
Beneath this cloud of light, many mountain peaks stood tall like giant pillars holding up the sky, these peaks rose straight up to the cloud, uplifting the mass of light highly above.
“That must be the relics of the Phoenix Clan,” Chu Mu stated.
Yu Suo had directed Chu Mu in this direction, but she didn’t ntion that they were relics of the Light Phoenix. Probably she worried Chu Mu would not be interested in the light attribute relics of the Phoenix Clan, deliberately omitting that detail. This woman always has a lot on her mind.
“Yes, I see many Light Sparrows; many places where Phoenix Clans settle have Light Sparrows guarding them,” said Xia Yin.
“How co I don’t see them?” Lin ngling strained her eyes to see, only able to see a beautiful cloud of light.
Chu Mu’s vision was pretty good in the dark, but under this bright sunlight, it felt sowhat blinding and of course, the Light Sparrows were invisible.
“My eyesight is better, let’s go. If we’re lucky, maybe we can find a Phoenix egg,” Xia Yin said with a smile.
The Phoenix Clan generally has a high Species Ranking, and a place like Yin Valley mostly hosts rare and powerful creatures. It’s possible that the Imperial Clan residing here belongs to the super rare kind of Phoenix Clan one might see once every hundred years.
The journey was sowhat long, and after about a day’s travel, the nest floating in the sky slowly ca into view.
Light Sparrows of various sizes, from hundreds of ters to just tens, were flying around in the nest of clouds, making a series of crisp, pleasant sounds.
These Light Sparrows were of very high levels. Given their large numbers, the three of them didn’t want the sparrows to perceive them as enemies and thus risk a collective attack.
“Chu Mu, you exude an evil aura; with soone like you entering the Nest of Light, you’ll definitely be driven out. Look at those Light Sparrows, they’re all watching you vigilantly,” Lin ngling said, pointing at the Light Sparrows whirling overhead.
“Indeed,” Chu Mu said with a wry smile.
His inherent Dark Attribute, coupled with the malevolence and murderous aura from excessive killing, made him evidently unsuitable to mingle with these holy, pure light-based creatures—it was practically a standoff situation.
“After leaving Yin Valley, I must have soone check your background again; it’s clear to see you’re no good person,” Lin ngling stated.
Lin ngling’s aura was exactly opposite that of Chu Mu; her life at Divine Sect was always enveloped in holy light and drifting with immortal Qi, plus her fondness for light-based creatures, infused her with an aura deeply intertwined with light elents…
“I never claid I was a good person,” Chu Mu said honestly.
“Did you kill Han Erxing?” Lin ngling blinked, bringing her beautiful, fair face close to Chu Mu.
Chu Mu was sowhat speechless; he really couldn’t be sure whether this Genius Girl from the Divine Sect was naive or cunning.
Even if you’ve got doubts about soone, you can’t just blatantly ask like this; any criminal with a bit of psychological strength wouldn’t admit to it, let alone an experienced hand like Chu Mu who’s done his share of killing.
“Sister ngling, us Chu brothers aren’t moved by beauty, your thod of interrogation won’t do much,” Xia Yin said with a laugh.
“Go away,” Lin ngling said huffily.
As Deputy Judge of the Divine Sect, it was Lin ngling’s duty to find the murderer of Han Erxing.
Xia Yin and Chu Mu, both wrapped in an aura of deep mystery, made it hard to tell if they were telling the truth or lying.
Lin ngling knew Xia Yin from earlier on and was sowhat aware of his background, but she knew nothing about Chu Mu.
Having personally experienced thirty days of guard duty, and having seen so many corpses, Lin ngling could roughly guess that Chu Mu’s strength wasn’t inferior to theirs. She found it curious how soone from New Moon Land could reach such a realm at such a young age.
Moreover, Lin ngling always sensed an extrely mysterious and sinister aura about Chu Mu, sothing no ordinary human would have…
