His Guardian Shade was still there, replenishing his mana as Reidar checked the entrance for so more hidden danger.

Then he turned to his summons. While he might have been done with the monster, there was still stuff he had to do.

"Go search for the supplies."

He didn’t want to lose more ti than he already did.

The summons left the room and went searching around the hospital. It would take so ti before they found everything they needed. Since he didn’t have much to do, he checked his status.

Reidar went through his perks. There were many things that interested him, such as the survivor perk Social Grace, which Improved prices when buying from and selling to Vendors, or the effective scavenger, which increased whatever he found when looting, but he was attracted to the mage tree again.

[Spell Control: Increase the amount of ti a skill lasts. ( 5% of the base duration per point)]

Indeed, it would be. The maximum number of points invested in the perk would be 5, aning the increase in ti a skill lasts should get up to 25% more.

But Mana attunent was also there. Reidar already had a point invested in it, and with three more points invested, he should reach the 20% increase of mana gained from all sources.

Reidar also went to another Perk tree, the crafter tree. He didn’t check it as much as he would have liked, but he did now.

The tree had many useful things, such as increasing the chance of crafting higher-rarity items, or increasing the chance to harvest double resources. There were a lot of things there.

While Reidar was lost in his thoughts, the Rift-Sprites skidded to a stop near an untouched pharmacy. Shelves stood untouched behind reinforced glass, antibiotics stacked in orderly rows, surgical kits wrapped in sterile packaging, bandages piled high enough to fill armories.

As soon as the summoned creatures found the pharmacy, Reidar got the quest complete notification.

[QUEST COMPLETE: dical Reclamation]

[Rewards: 3000 C.L.A.S.P points, 2400 Survival points]

Reidar’s eyebrows shot up.

After placing his perk points into Mana Attunent, so that he would get the best synergy with Arcane Leech and the guardian shade, Reidar headed where the Rift-Sprites were.

The hospital had been a tomb of rot and roots, but the dical storage rooms remained miraculously intact. His summons showed him finds in triage areas, surgical wings, even an underground cold storage unit lined with refrigerated cases of antiserums.

One of the Sprites cracked open a steel cabinet buried under fallen beams. Inside, crates stamped "ERGENCY STOCKPILE". There was a lot of stuff there.

"More than Keth’moran asked for," Reidar said. "And more than Malcolm had hoped. Well, at least luck is on our side."

He knelt beside the shattered IV stand, brushing dirt off a crate label.

Reidar breathed slowly.

Malcolm and Kate had been scrounging alleyways for half-empty cans, risking their lives for moldy sacks of rice and aspirin, while trying to perform with boiled kitchen knives to treat wounds.

Reidar stored the dical supplies in his inventory, watching crate after crate vanish into the system’s storage, another benefit of the Guardian System that still felt unnatural after weeks of use.

He pushed through the hospital’s destroyed entrance, broken glass grinding under his boots. As he stepped out, the afternoon sun ward his face. He took a deep breath. If anything else, air was much fresher now that industrial production had been halted.

His quests were tied to so of Malcolm’s, so his should’ve been completed too. The guy had other jobs besides keeping the place safe. Since this was a big deal for the settlent, he’d definitely get a notification that the behemoth was gone.

There was no need for ssengers or explanations.

His parents waited in Creamont. Martha and Marcus were trapped sowhere in Kingsguard. Every hour spent here pulled him further from them. He helped where he could, making the others stronger and giving them a safe place to stay, but he could not be here forever. Not that he stayed a lot.

He hadn’t been there for much ti he wanted. Less than a week, in truth, but it still was too much for him. Given the brief stay, he didn’t even feel particularly attached to anyone, so leaving wasn’t going to be problematic at all.

The Vendor might have new skills, better equipnt, or information about the road ahead. With over seventy thousand Survival Points burning a hole in his inventory, Reidar could afford almost anything the Thalassari rchant offered at his level.
