Ten days went by. Ten days of relentless slaughter.

The streets of Creamont had been transford into a charnel house.

It wasn’t a single battle; it was a series of fights, executed with the cold precision of a machine designed just to raise the weak to the status of gods.

Of course, figuratively speaking.

Reidar stood on top of a shattered overpass; his eyes were going through his system interface.

—[«END»]—

He was level 293 now, which, thanks to the level disparity, only required him to kill 125 monsters.

They had been enough not only to make him level up but also to make everyone do the sa with astonishing results.

However, the number felt abstract. Levels were a tric of power that had ceased to have aning in the traditional sense for him, since, thanks to his summoned creatures, he could make up for any weakness, and he could basically get infinite mana, or better, he would just use that of his summoned monsters to do whatever he had in mind.

He wasn’t just a survivor anymore; he was a calamity. But it wasn’t his strength that mattered. It was the others’.

Below him, the city burned with the fire of the Spriggans’ army.

Helga, Lena, Jake, Matthias, Aldric, Seraphine, John, and Kara led their own squads. Around twenty other settlent leaders who joined the spriggans followed suit. Each leader took their team through areas filled with powerful monsters, conveniently herded by Reidar’s Vorathid Foragers as to reduce the risk of encountering monsters that couldn’t be handled. They brought twenty weaker survivors with them to help them gain levels.

The plan was working. The things they had to do had been brutal; they still were, but none of them leveled up as fast as they were doing under Reidar’s tutelage.

It was brutal, but efficient.

So groups hunted monsters at level 200, while others targeted those at level 220 and higher. It all depended on the squad leader’s level. Helga, Seraphine, Lena, Jake, and Aldric were those who targeted the strongest monsters, as they were the ones with the highest levels.

Kill a monster, level up, kill so more, and level up again. Rinse. Repeat.

Helga had reached level 180, which made her much stronger than before. Her Level 180 S.H.I.E.L.D. had turned the massive warhamr into a feather in her hands. When the monsters charged, she didn’t even dodge. She swung.

The kinetic energy of her strike overpowered every enemy’s mass, collapsing their skulls. She was doing the sa with the weird and large boars attacking her group right now.

Around her, a pack of summoned Steel Sentinels ford a phalanx, their tower shields locked together to create a wall against the stampeding beasts, while the others used their own weaker summons to get battle contributions. Exactly like Reidar did, and the way through which they were able to kill monsters 20 levels higher.

"Attack!" she said. "And for fuck’s sake, don’t you dare die on ! Hit them! Hit them now!"

Behind the shield wall, her twenty survivors, who had been level 70 that morning, were fighting for their lives.

They not only sent summoned creatures but also fired crossbows, cast spells, and thrust spears through the gaps in the Sentinels’ defense.

Every kill, every assist, fed them. Reidar could see the golden light of level-ups flashing through his Vorathid Foragers, who were still there to ensure everything went as planned.

As he promised, he sent many of them to help the others level up, so they were assisting, keeping at bay the other monsters when packs attacked, and steering away monsters that the various groups couldn’t take care of.

However, Reidar didn’t do everything. If he sent the Vorathid Foragers to help, without him being there, they would just kill the monsters.

He ordered them to help only if needed so that Helga and the others could get as many C.L.A.S.P. points as possible.

That made the survivors feel safer, but Helga wasn’t coddling them; she was forging them. She wasn’t as soft as Reidar had been.

He asked the others to fight, but not as much as Helga did. She asked them to engage whenever possible, and that was because that would make the survivors get used to far stronger people than them.

She smashed a boar aside, clearing a path through the gore. "Rejoice, guys! Tonight we eat roasted pig!"
