The group, following the guidance of the Treasure Map, began their search for traces of the treasure within Worry-Free Valley.
Chen Fan and Su Qingyan quietly followed behind the group, and given their realm, it was naturally easy for them to remain undetected.
About two hours later, everyone arrived at a cold pool surrounded by strangely shaped stones, where the temperature was frighteningly low.
"According to the location marked on the Treasure Map, this should be the place where the treasure is. Everyone, let’s search together and see if we can find any clues," Sun Jingyi spoke up.
The group imdiately dispersed and started to look for the treasure.
Just then, Sun Heng noticed that there was sothing different about a huge rock in the distance. Looking up, he saw a figure in a black robe sitting cross-legged on top of it.
That person was surrounded by a mysterious aura, with streaks of red light flickering on their body.
Sun Heng imdiately shouted, "Look over there, everyone!"
The group followed Sun Heng’s pointing finger, and upon seeing the figure, they all wore shocked expressions.
"That rock over there must be nearly twenty ters tall, and it’s smooth as glass, how did he climb up there?"
"Look at him, there’s a red light flickering on his body; what’s going on?"
"A natural phenonon, could this be an Immortal?"
...
When Sun Jingyi heard the word "Immortal," she got excited. "That bastard Chen Fan said it was a trap, and now there’s even an Immortal showing up. I really want to call that guy over to see this and slap him hard in the face!"
Sun Heng said, "Since the Immortal has appeared, then the treasure must be nearby. Maybe this Immortal is here specifically to guard the treasure. Should we go and ask?"
Sun Jingyi nodded and then stepped forward, calling out loudly, "May I ask if you, Immortal Master, are here waiting for us?"
The person in black on the rock opened their eyes, and a streak of red light flashed past, then quickly retracted.
Then, with a light leap, he jumped down from the rock, floating down in front of the group like a falling leaf.
Seeing this, the crowd was astonished, deeming it a feat akin to magic and further believing that the person before them was an Immortal, because even a high-level martial artist could not have jumped from a twenty-ter height with such ease.
The person in black scanned the group and asked, "Are you here to look for the treasure?"
Sun Jingyi’s eyes lit up. Since the Immortal himself had ntioned the treasure, there was no way it could be false.
In her heart, she scolded Chen Fan thoroughly, feeling that he was just jealous that they had a clue to the treasure.
"Replying to the Immortal Master, we are indeed here in search of treasure," Sun Jingyi answered respectfully.
The person in black sneered, "Another bunch of fools. The thod our sect master ca up with really does work."
Sun Jingyi was stunned and didn’t understand what the black-robed person ant; she quickly said, "Immortal Master speaks true, in your presence, we are indeed re fools."
The person in black laughed loudly, "I call you fools and you agree, it seems you truly are no ordinary fools."
Only then did Sun Jingyi realize sothing was wrong, "Immortal Master, what do you an?"
The person in black smiled coldly, "Let tell you the truth; there is no damn treasure at all. This has all been a trap set by our Ghost Witch Sect, with the sole purpose of attracting fools like you to beco sacrificial items for our sect’s practice. You’re already the third group this month!"
Sun Jingyi’s face changed drastically, completely taken aback by the other’s words.
The rest of the crowd was also visibly stunned; Sun Heng murmured, "Chen Fan really predicted this."
Sun Jingyi’s face was flushed with anger, her earlier smugness completely vanished, replaced by grinding teeth.
She glared at the man in black and said coldly, "I didn’t expect this to actually be a trap, but do you really think we’re scared of you?!"
She turned her head to glance at He Da and the others, "Show him so color!"
He Da and his n imdiately charged towards the man in black.
With a simple raise of his hand and a gentle push, the man in black sent a gust of wind that flipped He Da and his n to the ground, spitting blood, evidently seriously injured.
The man in black’s power was around the seventh level of the Transformation Realm, and He Da’s n had only achieved Great Achievent in Internal Strength; how could they possibly be his opponents.
Sun Jingyi and the others turned pale as they saw their bodyguards unable to withstand even a single move from the man in black.
Lao Cai was terrified and shouted, "I must have had the worst luck for eight lifetis to bring you to Worry-Free Valley. You all can’t help hunting for treasure when you have nothing better to do, and now look, you’ve gambled with your lives!"
Sun Jingyi’s face went ashen as she began to guess the grim outco awaiting them; she clenched her fists and cursed inwardly, "All because of that jinx Chen Fan!"
Three more n in black appeared not far away, and the four of them surrounded Sun Jingyi and the others. After subduing them, they set off towards the Ghost Witch Sect’s headquarters.
None of them noticed that two figures had been quietly following them all along, like phantoms.
As the sky darkened, the group arrived at the depths of the valley in the evening, going through twists and turns before reaching a narrow mountain path.
Looking from a distance, there seed to be a sect in the distance, but the scenery there was ethereal, almost unreal. Only because an eerie and terrifying aura emanated from that sect did Sun Jingyi and the others barely believe they weren’t actually walking into an Immortal Sect.
Just then, two figures suddenly appeared on the mountain path ahead.
The four n in black turned vigilant, and the leader took a few steps forward, only to find a man and a woman standing there.
He asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
The man laughed and asked, "Excuse , is this the way to the Ghost Witch Sect?"
The leader scrutinized both persons carefully; the fact that they could na their sect ant they were not to be underestimated.
Sun Jingyi and the others also looked over, and when they saw the two figures, they were all startled.
Wasn’t it Chen Fan and Su Qingyan!
"How did they end up here?" Sun Jingyi frowned. Although she intensely disliked Chen Fan, she knew he wasn’t an evil character and imdiately shouted, "You two better run, that treasure map was indeed a trap, they’ll capture you!"
The leader turned to look at Sun Jingyi and sneered, "So, you’re all accomplices! Go, capture those two!"
One of the n in black dashed over.
Chen Fan and Su Qingyan just stood there, showing no intention of running away.
They were quickly seized and mixed in with Sun Jingyi and her group.
Sun Jingyi looked at Chen Fan annoyed and said, "You had the chance to run just now, I yelled so loud, why didn’t you run?"
Chen Fan grinned at her and said, "Run? Our goal is to enter the Ghost Witch Sect, why would we run?"
