Liu Qiming frowned, not expecting that the seat he had reserved was taken by soone else.
Xi ngyu imdiately shouted with great indignation, "What do you an by this? It was clearly our seat that we reserved first. By what right did you let soone take it?"
She had just boasted in front of Chen Fan and Su Qingyan, only to be embarrassed monts later. How could she swallow this affront?
Liu Qiming’s face changed, and he quickly pulled Xi ngyu aside, urgently saying, "What are you shouting for!"
Xi ngyu, not convinced, retorted, "They let soone take our seat, what’s wrong with shouting about it?"
Liu Qiming said, "Didn’t you hear what they said just now? It was a Diamond mber who took our seat. Those who can beco Diamond mbers here are either rich or noble, and the most basic requirent is a minimum recharge of five million here. Of course, they have to prioritize serving Diamond mbers. By shouting like this, you’ll only make the restaurant ban us permanently!"
Xi ngyu softened her tone after hearing this and said with widened eyes, "What! A recharge of five... five million?"
Liu Qiming replied, "What else did you think was the reason for their actions!"
Xi ngyu glanced back at the waiter and realized that he was looking at her with contempt, as if to say what’s there to pretend when you have no money.
Feeling aggrieved, she thought to herself, what right does a waiter have to look at that way, but she couldn’t vent her frustration. After all, Liu Qiming was the general manager of Hongda Pharmaceuticals with a high annual salary, but he couldn’t possibly recharge five million at a restaurant just to vindicate her.
So, she had no choice but to endure it.
Liu Qiming smiled at the waiter and said, "I’m really sorry, she’s impulsive. Don’t mind her. Since our seat has been taken, we’ll just find another place to eat."
Then he turned to Chen Fan and Su Qingyan and said, "Let’s find another place."
Chen Fan, however, said, "Since we’re already here, let’s eat here. If we go looking for another restaurant at this ti, we’ll probably have to wait too."
Liu Qiming frowned.
Xi ngyu was already in a foul mood. After hearing Chen Fan’s words, she snapped, "Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear what they just said? The seat Qiming reserved was taken by a Diamond mber. They don’t have a seat for us now, and you still want to eat here. Can you actually get us in?"
Chen Fan smiled and said, "I should be able to."
This left Xi ngyu and Liu Qiming stunned.
Neither of them had expected Chen Fan to actually take up Xi ngyu’s challenge.
"Although the waiter implied that there are no seats left inside, they will always find room if your status is prestigious enough. But such privilege is only for Supre mbers, who are even more distinguished than Diamond mbers. There are only a handful of such mbers in the entire Jibei City. Where does he get the confidence to believe he can take us in?" Liu Qiming said to Xi ngyu.
Xi ngyu scoffed, "I guess this guy thinks if he just talks nicely to them, they’ll let him in. That’s typical loser thinking. We’ll just watch him get embarrassed."
Without paying any attention to the two of them, Chen Fan walked towards the waiter.
Seeing another person from the group coming over, the waiter frowned, feeling that these people really didn’t know what was good for them. He had made things clear enough just now, yet they still didn’t leave right away, which was truly exasperating.
Struggling to contain his dissatisfaction, he began to say, "Sir, we..."
Chen Fan, ignoring what he was saying, simply handed over the Huaxia Divine Dragon card, "This card of mine should be entitled to so privileges here, right?"
The waiter, upon seeing the card in Chen Fan’s hand, stopped speaking halfway through, his eyes gradually widening in shock before he exclaid in a panic, "Huaxia... Divine Dragon Card, sir, I’m terribly sorry, I didn’t realize how prestigious your identity was. We do have a spare table available, and you can use it for free right now. Please, sir, forgive my earlier words!"
Chen Fan smiled and said, "Since there’s a spare table available, please lead us to it."
The waiter imdiately nodded, then turned to inform the staff inside to get ready.
Chen Fan turned to look at Su Qingyan and the other two, smiling, "Alright, we can go in now!"
The three of them were quite far from the entrance, so they had no idea what Chen Fan had said to the waiter.
When they heard Chen Fan say they could go in, both Liu Qiming and Xi ngyu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Xi ngyu said incredulously, "They wouldn’t even accommodate Qiming’s request, yet they let this loser persuade them. How... how did he do it?"
Liu Qiming looked towards Xi ngyu and asked quietly, "Didn’t you say he was a loser? How co they let us in after he says just a couple of words?"
Xi ngyu replied, "I don’t know either. Could it be that this guy really made sothing of himself after we graduated?"
Su Qingyan glanced proudly at the two, then walked towards Chen Fan.
Xi ngyu and Liu Qiming didn’t hesitate and quickly followed.
The four of them entered the restaurant and ca to a table by the window.
After sitting down, Xi ngyu looked at Chen Fan curiously and asked, "Didn’t they say that once the seats are full, only supre mbers can get a table? How did you do it? Are you a supre mber here?"
Chen Fan didn’t want to show off and said with a smile, "In general, restaurants like this have spare tables that many people don’t know about. You can use them if you talk to the waiter. Of course, they won’t tell you unless you ask."
Both of them seed to have an epiphany and did not doubt Chen Fan’s explanation in the slightest.
"That makes sense. I was thinking, you, a re loser, couldn’t possibly be a supre mber here. Turns out there’s a trick to it. Who would’ve thought you knew so much," Xi ngyu reverted to her condescending attitude towards Chen Fan, then turned and laughed at Liu Qiming, "There’s a saying, isn’t there? The poorer you are, the more you know—it’s really true."
Liu Qiming laughed along, obviously agreeing with Xi ngyu’s sentint.
When he was buying his car, he specifically asked so of his poorer friends for advice. Although those friends hardly had enough money to buy a car, when it ca to knowledge about cars, few could surpass them.
Seeing Xi ngyu believe his words so easily, Chen Fan felt a bit helpless. If these two had a little more emotional intelligence, they should have realized he was giving them an out. Yet, they didn’t find it strange at all.
But he couldn’t be bothered to argue, and turned to transmit a ssage to Su Qingyan, "Let’s leave after we finish eating. It’s better not to hang out with them."
Su Qingyan couldn’t agree more and nodded at Chen Fan.
Soon, the four of them finished their al, and Liu Qiming paid the bill, making a point of showing off the paynt slip.
As agreed with Chen Fan, Su Qingyan said to Xi ngyu, "ngyu, thanks for your hospitality. You guys are pretty busy, and we don’t want to impose. So, after this, Chen Fan and I will go our own way and won’t disturb you."
But Liu Qiming interjected, "What’s this about imposing? I’ve already arranged so activities, and they’re going to be quite exciting. You can’t miss out."
Xi ngyu joined in, "Exactly, Qiming planning sothing for just the two of you is quite a privilege. Now you want to leave? Qingyan, are you saying you don’t consider a friend?"
