Buzz!
A faint ripple radiated from Luo Cheng’s body.
In the courtyard, a strong gust of wind erupted.
"Oh!"
Luo Cheng returned to his senses and carefully felt within, imdiately stunned.
In just that brief mont, his cultivation and Sword Intent had both improved!
His cultivation was nearing the peak of the Fourth Layer of the Awakening Vein Realm.
His forty percent Sword Intent had grown even more solid, bursting with sharpness, seemingly on the verge of advancing at any mont!
It must be noted, it had not been long since his most recent breakthrough in cultivation and Sword Intent, and breaking through again wasn’t sothing achievable in just a day or two.
But within this fleeting mont, he had made such significant strides!
It was utterly astounding.
"I never expected that changes in my ntal state could have such a huge impact. No wonder there’s a saying: to cultivate, you must first cultivate the mind!"
"A powerful heart is the foundation for bearing even greater strength! Only a heart tempered by hardship can give birth to an indomitable edge!"
Luo Cheng muttered to himself.
This slaughter had undoubtedly served as a baptism for his ntal state.
Luo Cheng could vaguely sense that his inner self was beginning to undergo a transformation, breaking through towards the path of becoming a true powerhouse.
"Sun Yingyang, let your Sun Family serve as my whetstone!"
Luo Cheng’s gaze grew resolute as he looked at the bodies of the Sun Clan mbers scattered around him.
So many Martial Souls couldn’t simply go to waste.
"Roar!"
A phantom dragon’s roar echoed as Luo Cheng imdiately began to devour.
An invisible Dragon Energy surged out from within him, spiraling and dancing in the air. Wherever it passed, the Martial Soul Essence of the corpses was instantly absorbed.
There were a full fifty to sixty mbers of the Sun Family present!
As one Martial Soul after another surged into his body, the vast Star Sea within the Nine-colored Mysterious Egg ignited. One star after another lit up, shining resplendently.
"Oh?"
All of a sudden, an odd expression flickered across Luo Cheng’s face.
In the brief instant monts ago, the shimring stars within his Martial Soul seed to tremble subtly, as though undergoing so kind of change.
Yet when Luo Cheng probed deeper, there was nothing to be found.
"Was it just an illusion..."
Unable to discover anything, Luo Cheng could only give up.
A mont later, Luo Cheng had finished devouring all the Martial Souls.
Although these individuals didn’t have high cultivations, their ager contributions collectively created a qualitative shift. However, the chaotic nature of the energy caused the ridians in Luo Cheng’s body to faintly swell and ache.
"I’d better find a place to refine this energy before heading to Wuyan City again!"
With a single step, Luo Cheng propelled himself into the air, streaking rapidly southward.
All of Luoyan Town had fallen into a deathly silence.
The tumultuous commotion from the Sun Family had reverberated throughout the entire town.
The townspeople had all ventured outside, gazing fearfully toward the Sun Clan’s estate.
From the mouths of fleeing servants, they had learned that a terrifying god of slaughter capable of flying in and out of the heavens had stord into the Sun Clan, killing everyone in sight.
They never imagined that the domineering and tyrannical Sun Family would ever et such a day!
As much as their hearts brimd with satisfaction, fear still lood.
They worried that this god of slaughter might co charging out of the Sun Family next.
But as ti passed, the Sun Clan estate remained eerily quiet.
Two hours later, soone finally mustered the courage to cautiously step into the Sun Family grounds.
"Hiss!"
The sight of rivers of blood within left those who entered stunned and pallid.
The Sun Family had ruled over Luoyan Town with an iron fist for decades.
But now, they were no more!
A hundred miles south of Luoyan Town, atop a remote cliff.
As evening approached, a mist began to rise from the precipice. Amid the thin fog, a faint silhouette could be seen seated cross-legged there.
The mist surrounding the figure spiraled rapidly in vortex-like patterns, resembling a nebula, and the ocean of clouds for miles seed influenced as well.
Suddenly.
A phantom radiance burst forth from the figure’s body, and the spiraling vortex abruptly contracted, rging into him.
The next mont.
With a soft pop, the air rippled like water, and the cloud sea surged.
"Awakening Vein Realm, Fourth Layer—Peak! Even smoother than I imagined!"
The figure rose to his feet, his voice filled with delight.
It was Luo Cheng.
The transformation in his ntal state had propelled his cultivation even further, bringing him within a step of the peak for the Fourth Layer of the Awakening Vein Realm.
After devouring so much Martial Soul Essence, Luo Cheng decided to make an attempt at breaking through his cultivation bottleneck.
The results had exceeded his expectations entirely.
In just a single hour, he had successfully ascended to the peak of the Fourth Layer of the Awakening Vein Realm!
"It seems that the impact of the ntal state transformation is even greater than I anticipated!"
Smiling, Luo Cheng felt the surging power coursing through him and murmured, "I wonder what level my strength has reached now."
"Awakening Vein Realm—Seventh Layer, Middle Stage? Or perhaps the Late Stage of the Seventh Layer?"
If possible, Luo Cheng wanted to face off against a Seventh Layer Awakening Vein Realm expert right now!
Unfortunately, Sun Yingyang was still in seclusion for cultivation and had failed to break through, leaving Luo Cheng without an opponent even if he desired one.
"It’s ti to settle the score!"
Thinking of Sun Yingyang, a sharp glint passed through Luo Cheng’s narrowed eyes, the intensity of his gaze parting the swirling mist around him.
It was Sun Yingyang’s betrayal and treachery that had gravely injured his father, crippling his ability to cultivate, and leaving him half-ruined!
Luo Cheng vividly rembered how, outside Linjiang City, Sun Yingyang had looked down on his father and him with condescending arrogance, treating them as no more than ants, humiliating them at will.
This ti, the Ji Family’s intervention in Qishan City was also undoubtedly due to Sun Yingyang!
Today.
Everything would finally reach its end!
Swoosh!
At that thought, Luo Cheng imdiately set off, tearing through the cloud seas as he sped southward.
As the last rays of the sun faded from the horizon, Luo Cheng spotted the silhouette of a city in the distance.
It was Wuyan City!
Taking out a bamboo hat to cover most of his face, Luo Cheng entered the city.
The streets were teeming with martial artists from across the region, and Luo Cheng’s appearance amid the crowd didn’t draw any undue attention.
As Wuyan City’s most prominent family, it wasn’t difficult for Luo Cheng to find out the location of the Sun Family estate.
The Sun Family estate was situated in the northern part of the city, spanning over a thousand acres, dotted with grandiose buildings, with winding corridors and flowing streams, even the pathways were paved with white jade stone, exuding opulence to the extre!
In a small garden inside, Sun Yingyang was sitting opposite a middle-aged man with a ruddy face and a single arm, sharing drinks.
The one-ard middle-aged man was none other than Ren Kui, the Outer Sect’s Great Elder of the Fierce Cloud Sect!
During the Three Sects Martial Arts Competition, both he and Sun Yingyang had been wounded by Yun ngli.
Sun Yingyang had rely had his appearance disfigured.
Ren Kui, however, had his left arm incinerated by a single attack, leaving him gravely injured. It was only recently that his injuries had finally healed.
Sun Yingyang poured Ren Kui a cup of wine and said, "Brother Ren, congratulations on your recovery."
"Recovery, my ass!"
Ren Kui’s face turned angrily grim.
His injuries from Yun ngli went far beyond the re loss of an arm!
The Fla Essence Energy within Yun ngli’s attack carried a trace of True Phoenix intent, damaging his ridians and severing one of his Xuan Veins, causing his cultivation to drop significantly!
Now, Ren Kui could barely maintain his status as an Eighth Layer Awakening Vein Realm practitioner, and had lost his position as the Outer Sect’s Great Elder of the Fierce Cloud Sect because of it!
Swallowing a sip of fiery liquor, Ren Kui grew even more indignant. His palm tightened, shattering the cup, and he growled through gritted teeth:
"Damn it! If that Yun ngli ever falls into my hands, I’ll make her beg for life while wishing for death!"
Sun Yingyang’s disfigured face twitched as he sighed and said:
"Do you think I don’t want revenge? But Yun ngli has awakened an Earth Level Martial Soul, her power is overwhelming, even Core Elder Li couldn’t handle her. You and I..."
Ren Kui, fully aware of this truth, rely sulked, fuming:
"Damn it! It’s just infuriating! We suffered such huge losses, and now we’re just supposed to let it slide!"
Sun Yingyang’s tone shifted, "Speaking of which, the true culprit behind all of this is Luo Cheng. Brother Ren, if you want to vent your anger, there’s no need to focus solely on Yun ngli."
"Luo Cheng!"
Ren Kui’s expression darkened as he snorted coldly and said: "I would love to personally end that weakling! But he’s been hunted down by Elder Gao Jinlie’s five disciples, most likely leaving no remains."
Taking another sip of wine, Sun Yingyang chuckled, "Even if Luo Cheng is dead, the Luo Family still exists."
"What are you suggesting?"
Ren Kui’s eyes lit up, but then he frowned and said, "Still, battles at the Awakening Vein level should remain amongst equals; harming family mbers would break the rules..."
Sun Yingyang shook his head and said, "Rules only bind the weak. After all the suffering Luo Cheng caused us, letting him off with just death would be far too kind. Brother Ren, don’t you want to fully vent your frustrations?"
