"It might co off as a joke to you two, but in our village, kids do get married quite earlier than city folks."
The old man chuckled, "Old Tian from the head of the village, his son had reached the age too, so Old Tian brought this girl back from outside, ready to get them married."
"Guess what happened—on the wedding night itself, that young Tian coughed up blood and just, died on the spot!"
"Did the doctors say it was so kind of physical illness? But we all know young Tian had always been the picture of health, how could he suddenly fall ill?"
At this point, the old man’s murky eyes showed a trace of disdain for the girl.
He spoke bluntly, "I’ve lived a long ti and seen many things."
"This girl... she brings death to her husbands!"
With that declaration, the girl glared fiercely at the old man.
The old man hurriedly got up, trembling, and scurried away.
After listening carefully, both Ye Fei and his wife furrowed their brows slightly.
They certainly didn’t believe in all this superstitious nonsense.
The girl had been thrown out of the Tian Family that very night and, with nowhere else to go in this secluded mountain village, she had to compete with stray dogs for food every day.
Su Yueru grew increasingly angry as she listened, snorting coldly.
"Such a nice girl, yet she’s been tornted like this!"
She then said to the girl, "Miss, co with , leave this place."
The girl’s eyes lit up imdiately upon hearing these words.
But then, her bright eyes quickly reverted to being murky.
Taking advantage of Su Yueru’s distraction, the girl suddenly flipped over and dashed away.
"Hey? Why did she run away?"
Su Yueru wanted to chase after her, but Ye Fei stopped her.
"We’re staying here for a few days, let’s see what happens."
Ye Fei knew this girl was no simple case, and definitely not any unlucky maiden.
The spiritual energy on her was frighteningly intense!
"Let’s go to Ye An’s place first."
The family got back into the car, with Su Yueru feeling uneasy and frowning all the way.
Sowhere not far, the rich scent of at wafted over.
A few kids were playing at the gate, and through the gate, one could see several busy old won.
Ye Fei and his family got out of the car and slowly approached the entrance.
A familiar place.
It’s a pity, though, people and things have changed.
For Ye Fei, all of this was a mory from tens of thousands of years ago.
"Oh! Who is this?"
An old woman called out, and a few more people trickled out of the house.
"Isn’t that Ye Fei?" soone shouted, and the yard imdiately beca noisy.
"Ye Fei? The eldest grandson of the Ye Family?"
"He’s still alive? Wasn’t it said that he died when he was just a teenager?"
Soone laughed, "Of course, he is alive, and living even better than you!"
"See that beauty beside him? Ye Fei has married up and is holding onto those coattails now!"
The crowd was abuzz with discussion, so casting cold glances at Ye Fei, while others remained silent.
In the countryside, a man who ’marries into’ his wife’s family is looked down upon.
Ye An ca out of the house, overjoyed.
"Ye Fei, why have you only just arrived, co inside and sit!"
Without further ado, Ye An dragged Ye Fei into the house.
"You ca just in ti, Ye Fei, we are about to set the table, you’re in for a treat!"
Ye Fei responded with a faint smile, yet the ntion of ’set the table’ delighted Little Ye imnsely.
No sooner had Ye Fei entered the house than several n, hands tucked in their pockets, approached Ye Fei’s car.
n often compare cars, watches, and phones.
Laughing, they gathered around the car, curious to see what kind of car a man who ’marries up’ could afford.
But as soon as they saw the emblem on the car, they stood frozen in shock.
"Holy crap, a BMW?"
"A BMW? Which BMW?"
"Are you daft? How many BMWs are there in the world?"
Seeing the blue and white logo, the n felt instantly uneasy.
"You tell , how can a man who ’marries up’ be so wealthy? What does he even do for a living?"
Soone scoffed, "Just a lousy BMW X3, how wealthy could he be? It’s just a junk car worth three or four hundred thousand!"
Another lit a cigarette, "Nonsense, would take you decades of farming to afford that car, could you buy one?"
The group continued to buzz with envious remarks.
Regardless, they didn’t think much of Ye Fei, believing the car was more than likely purchased by his wife’s family.
Once inside, the Ye Family was seated by Ye An at the long table.
Several dishes were already served, exuding delicious aromas.
Su Yueru whispered, "This Ye An is quite considerate, knowing how to entertain guests."
However, Ye Fei chuckled, "Would he take care of us like this without that million I gave him?"
Just then, several discordant voices reached Ye Fei’s ears.
"Look at that woman, she has such a huge ass."
"Why just stare at her butt? Look at those legs, so long, they could strangle a man!"
"Her face is stunning too, a real beauty. Ye Fei is so lucky."
Filthy language filled Ye Fei’s ears, and his expression imdiately darkened.
A fierce glare shot from his eyes, and the n talking were montarily stunned.
Ye Fei had been about to stand up and deliver so slaps, which they richly deserved.
However, Su Yueru gently held him back, "If you want to settle the score, wait until after the wedding in a couple of days. Don’t disturb the peace at Ye An’s house."
Ye Fei suppressed his anger, and with a wave of his hand,
a barely visible mist wafted over to the n and they inhaled it.
Their faces promptly turned red.
Then, one of them imdiately left the table and hurried to the toilet.
The toxin was very mild.
It just rendered a few n impotent, that’s all.
