Chapter 94: Chapter 93: The Pinnacle Battle
King of Heaven?
At the sound of those words, even the combatants paused their fighting. The title "King of Heaven" was simply too shocking—far more so than "Demon Emperor."
The King of Heaven had actually co to the Divine Land, and he was so young. The foremost of the eight Kings was here. Today’s battle was bound to rock the global underworld.
Two Kings had t, and they were about to clash—an event with lower odds than winning the lottery. One was the Demon Emperor, the other the King of Heaven. Weren’t they both legendary figures whose nas shook the world? Their battle was destined to set off a cataclysmic storm.
Ye Fan neither confird nor denied the title, which placed an inexplicable pressure on the Demon Emperor. He had previously assud Ye Fan was just so small-ti nobody who couldn’t hang with the major players. Who could have imagined he was the world-renowned King of Heaven? It was safe to say this developnt went far beyond his wildest imagination.
At this point, their conflict was no longer sothing the ancient or super-clans could control.
Ye Fan stepped forward. "Demon Emperor, make your move!"
"My thoughts exactly," the Demon Emperor retorted. "I’d like to see what gives you, the King of Heaven, the right to be ranked above !"
"You’ll find out," Ye Fan said.
The Demon Emperor was the first to strike. His montum was like a tidal wave; after all, he was the King of Innate Masters, and the power he unleashed was nothing short of explosive. Ye Fan moved to et him, clenching his fist and colliding with the Demon Emperor head-on. The two were instantly thrown backward. Had anyone been standing between them, they would have died a grueso death. The force of their clash alone could have torn apart anyone below the rank of an Innate Master. Even other Innate Masters would not have been able to withstand it.
"Again!" Ye Fan lunged forward. They clashed several more tis, and with each blow, the manor suffered catastrophic damage.
The Demon Emperor was furious. From the look of it, Ye Fan was indeed a sliver stronger than him. But they were both Kings; how vast could the difference truly be?
Their battle spilled beyond the manor grounds as both Kings leaped outside.
"Protect our sister-in-law!" He Yu shouted before giving chase.
As Yu’er also rushed to follow, Qin Yanran watched the heart-pounding battle. Beyond her worry, she felt a burgeoning joy. It seed possible that she and Ye Fan could truly be together, a happiness that ca from deep within her soul.
anwhile, the fighting within the manor raged on. The Ye and He families were outnumbered, but a large portion of the Qin Family had refused to join the battle. As a result, the two sides were almost evenly matched. What followed was a massacre worthy of Hell itself.
Escorted by several of He Yu’s subordinates, Qin Yanran was about to leave the manor.
「On a cliff’s edge roughly ten kiloters from the manor, Ye Fan and the Demon Emperor faced each other in a tense standoff.」
"I feel like I know you," the Demon Emperor said, "but at the sa ti, I don’t know who you are."
Ye Fan replied, "You don’t? Then let
help you rember. Do you recall framing your captain six years ago?"
"It’s you!" The Demon Emperor was stunned.
Ye Fan’s words jarred his mory. He never expected that his forr captain was still alive. Recalling that the new King of Heaven had founded an organization called the King Hall, the Demon Emperor instantly knew exactly who Ye Fan was. "You’re still alive!" he exclaid.
"Are you surprised? I live only for revenge. The suffering you inflicted on
back then, I will repay bit by bit. And I’m starting with you!" Ye Fan could tell from his reaction that the Demon Emperor was indeed one of the n who had betrayed him.
"So, you’re still alive," the Demon Emperor said. "That is unexpected. But it’s a pity. You’re still going to die."
"We drove you to your death once, and we can do it again!" His tone was dripping with arrogance, but Ye Fan’s heart remained as calm as still water.
Ye Fan spoke, his voice low and dangerous. "I can almost understand why you frad
back then. But why did you have to go after my brothers?"
"They didn’t deserve to die!" he roared. "A debt of blood must be paid in blood! Today, you will die!"
With that, Ye Fan charged at the Demon Emperor like a crazed beast. The Demon Emperor t his attack, unflustered. The two Kings began their climactic battle.
"Break!" Ye Fan roared, unleashing a punch.
"Power of War God!"
The Demon Emperor unleashed his most imnse power and threw a counter-punch. Ye Fan dodged frantically but was still clipped by the blow. He was sent flying backward, slamming into the cliff face. Stones tumbled down, and dust filled the air, obscuring whether he was dead or alive.
"King of Heaven," the Demon Emperor jeered, "so what if you’re the first among Kings? You couldn’t even protect your childhood sweetheart or your brothers. You’re nothing but a pathetic waste! Hahaha!"
The Demon Emperor laughed wildly, certain that if he killed Ye Fan, he, the Demon Emperor, could take the King of Heaven’s place.
After the dust settled, a man erged from the rubble on the cliff. It was Ye Fan.
At this mont, his aura seed powerful enough to devour everything, radiating a profound sense of despair. "The real fight begins now!" he declared.
He lunged. Before the Demon Emperor could react, a fist smashed into his jaw. The Demon Emperor reeled in pain, but as he tried to counter, Ye Fan’s kick slamd into his abdon. The blow sent him toppling over the edge of the cliff. Luckily, he managed to grab hold of a rock partway down, saving himself from the fall.
Ye Fan had no intention of letting him go. He leaped down after him, and the two engaged in a devastating battle on the vertical cliff face. It was a thrilling duel between Kings that was almost never witnessed. Now, they were unleashing their strongest attacks against one another. Rocks dislodged by their fight tumbled into the abyss below, adding a grim and eerie atmosphere to the scene.
Ye Fan landed a solid punch on the Demon Emperor’s abdon, causing him to spit up a mouthful of blood.
He knew if this continued, defeat was inevitable. Reacting swiftly, he scrambled back up the cliff, and Ye Fan followed close behind.
"Heaven and Earth Incomplete Fist!"
"Cangtian’s Record!"
Both n unleashed their powerful killing moves. In the aftermath of the exchange, they were both thrown back. The Demon Emperor was in worse shape, having already taken two heavy blows from Ye Fan. He gasped for breath, glaring at Ye Fan, whose eyes were filled with killing intent. It was, without a doubt, a thoroughly satisfying fight.
"The King of Heaven’s power is truly worthy of its reputation," the Demon Emperor managed to say. "You’ve earned your rank as number one. But I refuse to believe I’m weaker than you!"
He charged again, intent on blasting Ye Fan off the cliff.
Ye Fan moved, releasing the dignity and aura befitting his title as the King of Heaven. It was an overwhelming presence, as magnificent and terrifying as the apocalypse.
After the exchange, they stood back-to-back, separated by about fifty ters.
The air was deathly still. Their heavy breathing and the frantic, chaotic beating of their hearts were the only sounds, loud enough to shatter the silence.
Suddenly, the Demon Emperor fell to one knee. Blood dripped from Ye Fan’s arm. It was clear that both had been injured in that last exchange, but Ye Fan’s wounds were slightly less severe than the Demon Emperor’s.
"Puh!" The Demon Emperor spat another mouthful of blood. "In the end, you were still one step ahead of ."
"It’s all over," Ye Fan said, swaying on his feet.
"No," the Demon Emperor said. "The real war has just begun."
He took out three pills and swallowed them. Instantly, his injuries began to heal at a visible rate, and his body began to seethe with power.
Ye Fan knew exactly what they were. He had seen these stimulant pills during his ti with the Divine Dragon. Once ingested, they could unlock a person’s potential, allowing them to surpass their peak combat ability for a short period. Though the effect wouldn’t last long, that brief window was enough to settle any fight.
By taking these pills, the Demon Emperor was gambling with his final reserves of strength. After the stimulants wore off, recovery would take a very long ti. To kill Ye Fan, he had just played his final trump card.
