Chapter 357: Chapter 356: The Fierce Bandits of the Grasslands

And so, Ye Fan and the Grassland Bear began their standoff. Ye Fan drew his Yuanhong Sword, preparing to face the beast. It was a juvenile, not yet fully grown, but its size was still imnse. That wasn’t the important part, though. What mattered was that this Grassland Bear was different from ordinary ones. Despite its massive size, it was remarkably agile, and the ice blades and sharp claws covering its body were chilling to behold. Its combat strength was so formidable that even Ye Fan debated whether to fight or flee. After all, wasting strength on a powerful beast in this frozen wasteland was hardly a wise move. Moreover, the bear didn’t seem to have any murderous intent, which puzzled him. The creature looked rather dopey, but he didn’t dare let his guard down for a second.

Just as Ye Fan was lost in thought, the Grassland Bear suddenly moved, charging straight for him. It knocked him to the ground instantly. As Ye Fan prepared to strike it with his Yuanhong Sword, the bear swiped a paw and tore his clothes open.

"What the hell!"

Ye Fan finally understood what people ant by an animalistic rogue. This Grassland Bear was a hooligan through and through. It was a fierce beast, sure, but why was it tearing at his clothes? Could it be that this Grassland Bear has so sort of strange fetish? The thought sent a shiver down his spine.

But in the next mont, the bear’s objective beca clear. It pulled a loaf of bread out from his torn clothes and began wolfing down his rations. Ye Fan was left speechless. It had all been a false alarm. Just then, the Grassland Bear began to affectionately rub against his thigh. What does it an by rubbing my thigh? Let’s not forget, this thing is supposed to be the king of beasts on the Ice Glacier Grassland! Does it have to be so shalessly cute?! It even wagged its tail at him, making Ye Fan wonder if he was seeing things. It was all too comical.

He helplessly spread his hands, a clear gesture that he had nothing left. Ye Fan cautiously backed away, now realizing that if the Grassland Bear had wanted to ambush him, it would have done so already instead of waiting for him to be on full alert. The drool he’d seen earlier wasn’t because it wanted to eat *him*.

However, the bear just kept following him. So be it. But why couldn’t it maintain a little dignity as the king of beasts? Instead, it trailed after him like an adorable pet, leaving Ye Fan helpless. Finally, he sighed, "Fine, if you want to follow, then follow."

And so, the man and the beast began to walk across the Ice Glacier Grassland. The Grassland Bear stuck to him like glue, and there was nothing he could do about it. It had to be said that while the Grassland Bear was at the top of the food chain here, they were so rare that few people had ever seen one. Ye Fan, for his part, didn’t mind having such a companion.

He decided to try his luck and asked the bear, "Little guy, do you know where the Millennium Ice Crystal is?"

The Grassland Bear waved its paws and even played its trump card: rolling on the ground to act cute. Unfortunately for the bear, Ye Fan wasn’t falling for it. He knew communicating with this creature was far too difficult and didn’t try again.

As they walked across the ice, Ye Fan sensed the auras of several Martial Artists approaching and quickly signaled for the Grassland Bear to hide. Sure enough, on the relatively narrow sheet of ice, four n were closing in, surrounding him from front and back. They were all strong, and one even possessed the power of a King-level Realm expert. Their leader, a large bald man, sneered at Ye Fan. "Kid, hand over everything you have, and I’ll spare your life!"

The four n slowly advanced on him. What could Ye Fan say? They were actually trying to rob him out here.

"I have nothing else on ," Ye Fan said calmly. "Just the underpants I’m wearing. You want them? If you do, they’re all yours!"

The bald man’s voice turned cold. "Boy, it seems you haven’t heard of the Grassland Bandits. Today, I’ll teach you a lesson!"

"Grassland Bandits?" Ye Fan asked, a flicker of understanding in his eyes. He now knew who they were. The man nad Jin Qianbao, who had been killed by Leng Dao, was one of them. In fact, it was more accurate to call them the three great bandits of the Northern Border: Jin Qianbao, Money Tiger, and a third known as Sitting Mountain Eagle. Even in this era of advanced civilization and technology, the Grassland Bandits dared to commit murder and robbery, relying entirely on their individual strength.

"And which of the Grassland Bandits might you be?" Ye Fan asked.

"I am the great Money Tiger!" the bald man barked.

"Oh, so it’s you," Ye Fan said, his tone shifting from calm to icy cold. "Money Tiger, one of the three great bandits of the Northern Border. A bunch of thieves acting so arrogant. It seems you’re all tired of living!"

The bald man flew into a rage. "How dare you insult the Grassland Bandits! Now, you’ll die even if you hand over your treasures!" He gestured to his n. "Get him! Break his legs and cut out his tongue! Let’s see if he can still talk so tough!"

Instantly, the four n sward forward. However, just as they were about to slaughter Ye Fan, the Grassland Bear burst from its hiding place and pounced on them.

"What?!"

The four n were instantly terrified, nearly scared to death. How unlucky could they be? They had run into a monstrous Grassland Bear!

ROAR!

The Grassland Bear let out a ferocious roar and swung its massive tail. The whip-like strike sent the four n flying, their ribs shattering on impact. But the bear didn’t stop; it rushed forward and began to tear into them.

ROAR!

With a flash of crimson and a chorus of their screams, the Grassland Bear tore them to pieces.

Ye Fan drew a sharp breath. He now realized that this bear’s power was terrifyingly close to that of the Yan Clan’s Guardian Divine Beast. Or rather, this beast that rely looked like a Grassland Bear was sothing else entirely. No ordinary adult Grassland Bear possessed such astounding combat power.

Just then, the bear licked its lips and trotted over to wag its tail at Ye Fan. The bloody scene was bizarrely softened by the creature’s simple, adorable deanor. What could Ye Fan possibly say? The bear was clearly seeking his approval.

He cleared his throat and said, "Excellent work. Once we leave this place, I’ll buy you a lot more food!"

The Grassland Bear imdiately perked up, apparently unable to forget the delicious taste of his rations. A few pieces of bread to get this peculiar Grassland Bear to work for ... what a bargain! Ye Fan thought, already making his calculations.

Night fell, and a teor shower lit up the sky—a rare and beautiful sight over the Ice Glacier Grassland. While enjoying the view, Ye Fan and the Grassland Bear continued their trek across the ice. The man and the beast wandered on, seemingly without fatigue or destination.

Suddenly, the Grassland Bear started tugging at his pant leg. Unsure what it wanted, Ye Fan asked, "What are you trying to tell ?"

The Grassland Bear walked a few paces forward and looked back at him expectantly. It repeated the action, and Ye Fan finally understood: it was telling him to follow. He trusted the Grassland Bear without hesitation and followed as it led the way. In that mont, he completely forgot that the entire purpose of his journey was to find the Millennium Ice Crystal.
