"Of course she will. Still, who can bla the Old Ancestor and Father for looking down on ? If my sister doesn’t put in a good word for , I have no hope of becoming the Family Head."
"But it seems Miss Linglong has no interest in becoming the Family Head," one of his guards interjected.
"No. Even though she’s not interested now, Father and the Old Ancestor will eventually force her to take the position. At that point, the nature of the situation will be entirely different." The young man had clearly analyzed the problem from multiple angles.
His guards nodded repeatedly. It was indeed a possibility. Furthermore, Gongsun Chou would soon be returning to the Gongsun Family to select the next Family Head. This explained why the young man was willing to spend so much to curry favor with his sister.

In the dim light, the Purple Jade shone brightly. The pendant, emitting a soft purple radiance, was so beautiful that even Gongsun Linglong was instantly captivated.

"It’s gorgeous!" Gongsun Linglong took the Purple Jade in her hands. It felt surprisingly heavy, weighing about five kilograms.
"Since you find it beautiful, it’s yours. Only a flawless sister like you deserves such a treasure," Gongsun Shengheng said. "Any man who manages to marry my perfect sister would be the luckiest man alive."
"Brother, stop talking nonsense!" Gongsun Linglong blushed.
"It’s the truth! What can I say? My sister was born a natural beauty!" Gongsun Shengheng began to lay on the flattery thick.
Watching from the shadows, Ye Fan felt goosebumps crawl up his skin. Gongsun Linglong was indeed beautiful and worthy of so praise, but couldn’t this guy just stop? Even if she were the most beautiful woman alive, this level of exaggeration was ridiculous.
At this, Gongsun Linglong shot him a look. "Alright, that’s enough. I know you’re after sothing."
Embarrassed that she had seen right through him, Gongsun Shengheng said awkwardly, "Well, my dear sister... you know the Old Ancestor is coming back soon to decide on the next Family Head, right? Could you... put in a few good words for ? After all, he adores you."

Ye Fan had been growing bored, wondering when this sibling drama would finally end. However, the sight of the Jade Pendant snapped him back to reality. His plan was to seize the pendant, not watch a family play unfold.
With that, he pulled out a black cloth to cover his face, leaped forward, and landed directly in front of the pair.
"Who’s there?" In an instant, the dozen or so suit-clad guards on the estate surrounded Ye Fan.
Ye Fan said with a smirk, "This is a robbery."
"A robbery?" Gongsun Shengheng scoffed. "You dare to rob the Gongsun Family? Kid, are you tired of living? Get him! Kill him!" He couldn’t believe this guy’s audacity. Who even commits robberies anymore in this day and age?
Gongsun Linglong, however, stood calmly to the side. Despite her youth, she had a steady mind.
Ye Fan waved his hand, releasing a powerful aura from his body. It slamd into the guards, sending them tumbling to the ground where they groaned in agony. He hadn’t intended to seriously injure them, only to ensure they couldn’t interfere for a while.
Now, both Gongsun Shengheng and Gongsun Linglong lost their composure. Taking down more than a dozen guards with a single move was a feat far beyond their own capabilities. As they stood in shock, Ye Fan walked toward them.
Although terrified, Gongsun Shengheng blustered, "Kid, you better not try anything stupid! Otherwise, you’ll face the full wrath of the Gongsun Family!"
"Retaliation?" Ye Fan scoffed. "The Gongsun Family ans jack shit to ."
"I’ll kill you!" Unable to endure the humiliation any longer, Gongsun Shengheng charged. However, he only possessed the strength of an inner-gate disciple. Ye Fan simply brought the edge of his hand down on his neck.
Gongsun Shengheng collapsed instantly, robbed of the strength to even twitch.
"Little Sis, run!" Gongsun Shengheng managed to gasp out.
But Ye Fan was already closing in. Terrified, Gongsun Linglong scrambled backward until her back hit a wall. Trapped and not knowing what to do, her delicate body began to tremble with fear.
