Chapter 209: Chapter 208: Return to Hua Xia
So, Ye Fan asked, "Where are we going now?"
"To a place where no one will disturb us. There, we will all find salvation!" Qin ngyao answered.
"We should still go back and explain things to your sister!" Ye Fan said.
"Let’s not talk about that, husband." Qin ngyao imdiately leaned in and kissed him.
In a daze, Ye Fan accepted her kiss. In the passionate heat of the mont, Qin ngyao grew bolder and was on the verge of success. But just then, a wave of dizziness washed over him. The vertigo was so intense that it made him push Qin ngyao away.
"Husband, why did you do that?" she asked.
"I feel terrible right now. I’m sorry," Ye Fan said.
"It’s okay. I’ll always be with you."
Qin ngyao didn’t press the issue. If she tried to force it, her lies might be exposed. All she had to do now was get Ye Fan away from the African battlefield, and her plan would succeed.
The next morning, Qin ngyao and Ye Fan left in an off-road vehicle.
However, they had barely gone a kiloter before Qin ngyao was stunned. On the other side of a desert dune, another vehicle was blocking their path. A figure got out of the car. It was Qin Yanran.
Qin ngyao wanted to drive around her, but the terrain made it impossible to get past.
She turned to Ye Fan and said anxiously, "Husband, that’s my sister. You must not fall into her hands. Once she finds out you have amnesia and are of no use to her, she’ll kill you! She’s just that kind of woman, with a heart of stone!"
"I’ll go talk to her." Without giving Ye Fan a chance to speak, Qin ngyao walked forward to confront her.
Qin Yanran strode toward her, her face a mask of anger. "Why are you taking our husband away? His wounds haven’t healed yet. King Hall has plenty of advanced dical equipnt. For his sake, staying there is the best option!"
"It’s my right to take my husband with ," Qin ngyao retorted. "Sister, you shouldn’t use certain titles so carelessly."
"What do you an by that?" Qin Yanran snapped.
"What else could it an? He belongs to , and
alone!"
"Shaless!" Qin Yanran cursed.
"Say whatever you want," Qin ngyao said with a dismissive shrug.
"I’m going to see him!"
Qin Yanran tried to move past her, but Qin ngyao blocked her way. "I won’t let you see him!"
"That’s not for you to decide!"
Qin Yanran pushed forward again, but this ti, Qin ngyao lashed out, shoving her back. Refusing to back down, Qin Yanran fought back, and in an instant, the two sisters were grappling with each other.
This was a war between won—no, a war between sisters. The two stunningly beautiful won began to scuffle, rolling around in the sand. Their struggles twisted them into suggestive poses, their clothes falling into disarray. Fortunately, Ye Fan was the only witness.
"What have you done to him?" Qin Yanran demanded, her hands around Qin ngyao’s neck. Qin ngyao, in turn, was pulling her hair. It just goes to show that a fight between won can erupt in an instant, even between sisters.
"He’s tired of an old woman like you!" Qin ngyao sneered. "I am his true destiny!"
"You’re shaless!"
Just as Qin Yanran gained the upper hand, Ye Fan suddenly rushed over, lifted her up, and tossed her aside.
Qin ngyao stood behind Ye Fan, looking pitiful.
Qin Yanran was stunned. She never expected Ye Fan to be rough with her. In her mory, he was always rough with their enemies but gentle with her. Today, everything was beyond her imagination.
"Husband, what’s wrong with you?" she asked in disbelief.
Husband? Why is this beautiful woman, who looks so much like the one behind , also calling
her husband? Who am I? And which of them is telling the truth? Ye Fan was lost in thought.
"I don’t understand what you’re saying," he said finally.
From his eyes, Qin Yanran saw only indifference, a stark contrast to his usual warmth.
"Husband, why have you beco like this?" Qin Yanran began to cry. For so reason, as Ye Fan looked at her, he felt the genuine sorrow in her tears, and his heart ached.
"I’ve lost my mory," Ye Fan admitted, deciding not to hide the truth. He was trusting his instincts, and his gut told him that Qin Yanran was nothing like the cold, heartless woman Qin ngyao had described.
"So that’s how it is... I understand now," Qin Yanran murmured, a wave of realization washing over her.
She looked at Ye Fan and said, "Husband, I know you might not believe
right now, but I have to tell you this. There was once a man who killed the infamous Demon Emperor just to save . A man who would fearlessly face any pressure for my sake. That man... is you! And yet, there was nothing I could do for you!" she finished sadly.
"?" Ye Fan was so frustrated he wanted to kill himself; he couldn’t rember a single thing.
Qin Yanran then turned to her sister. "ngyao, stop this nonsense. Do you have any idea what the consequences of your actions could be? What we need to do now is help him get his mory back!"
Qin ngyao looked a little guilty. For the past two days, she had been blinded by possessiveness, and now she couldn’t et her sister’s gaze. Perhaps claiming Ye Fan for myself was a mistake.
She walked over to Qin Yanran. "Sister, I’m sorry."
"It’s fine, as long as you understand how important this is. Our husband carries too many responsibilities on his shoulders. We can’t afford to mislead him at a ti like this," Qin Yanran said.
"Mhm! But sister, are you just going to stand by and let other won take your husband from you?"
"What do you an?" Qin Yanran asked, suddenly wary. She knew her sister wasn’t to be trifled with; she had nearly brainwashed Ye Fan, after all.
Qin ngyao said, "Now that his mind is a blank slate, aren’t you going to take this chance to brainwash him? Once he gets in touch with all those other won in his life, what if they brainwash him first? You’ll be out of the picture entirely."
Qin Yanran felt a knot of tension tighten in her chest, but her expression remained calm. "I trust him."
Then, she walked over, took Ye Fan’s hand, and prepared to leave.
Hmph! She’s clearly dying of anxiety but is still putting on such a calm facade. Let’s see how long she can keep that up. So stubborn, she’d rather suffer than lose face. Qin ngyao followed them begrudgingly.
The trio arrived in Fena’s nation, where Qin Yanran contacted Chen Zihan. The three won decided to leave the African battlefield. As long as Ye Fan’s mory hadn’t returned, any situation he faced could be extrely dangerous.
Originally, Qin Yanran had planned to send Ye Fan back to King Hall. But after considering Qin ngyao’s analysis, she agreed it made sense. While they could do little to help him under normal circumstances, their duty now was to protect his safety.
What they didn’t know was that King Hall was in an uproar. The disappearance of the King of Heaven was terrible news. However, when the Great Commanders realized that the King of Heaven might have orchestrated his own disappearance, they felt a sense of relief. They were busy rebuilding King Hall.
The palace had just been ravaged by war, and rebuilding it would take considerable ti. Fortunately, the surrounding African nations had all mobilized to help, which eased the Great Commanders’ burden. They now felt a mutual dependency: they couldn’t leave the African battlefield, and the battlefield couldn’t do without them.
anwhile, the mbers of the Heavenly King Hall, led by Tian Can, Di Que, and Black Fog, were also on their way back. They were not an integral part of King Hall but reported directly to the King of Heaven.
When Chen Zihan learned about Ye Fan’s condition, she found it hard to believe, but she still helped the two sisters care for him over the next couple of days. Thus, the group returned to Jiangning in Hua Xia together. Qin Yanran and Qin ngyao began looking for a way to treat Ye Fan’s amnesia, while Chen Zihan took on the responsibility of looking after him.
They were now in Chen Zihan’s room. Ye Fan felt he had been here before, though he couldn’t recall when. The entire city evoked a similar feeling—both familiar and strange.
"Here, drink so water."
Chen Zihan handed him a cup, and he noticed her hands were trembling.
"Are you afraid of ?" Ye Fan asked.
"How... how could I be!" Chen Zihan’s voice shook slightly. The truth was, she grew frightened after learning about Ye Fan’s file from Fena. She had never imagined that Ye Fan was a man of such stature. It was impossible not to be afraid of such a man.
