However, he held back. "That depends on who we’re talking about," he said. "You, for example. I really don’t dare trust you, because I’m not ready to die just yet!"
Shangguan Qiuyue smiled. "Mr. Ye, you certainly have a sense of humor. I’m just a weak woman, after all. How could I possibly be so capable? The Sky Sword Sect’s Four Great Protectors were all killed by you, Mr. Ye. I must say, your strength is truly formidable!"
Though Shangguan Qiuyue had anticipated this, she hadn’t expected Ye Fan to crush the combined attack of three of them in the blink of an eye, completely unscathed. With those three defeated and Duoci slain previously, all four of the Sky Sword Sect’s Great Protectors had now been killed by Ye Fan.
However, the Four Great Protectors were not the pinnacle of the Sky Sword Sect’s power. They still had three Great Elders and two Sect Leaders, none of whom were pushovers. Against such figures, the Shangguan family alone wouldn’t stand a chance. Therefore, she needed to rely on Ye Fan. Although she didn’t know the true extent of his combat strength, he was undoubtedly a great asset to the Shangguan family.
If she knew that Ye Fan was actually the King of Heaven, she would be stunned. After the shock would co terror. To think she was trying to use the King of Heaven!

Ye Fan gently moved Mu Wanxin aside. "The Sky Sword Sect is detestable. Since they dared to provoke , they must accept the price of annihilation!" His rage was simring, ready to erupt at any mont.
"Mr. Ye, the Sky Sword Sect has you in their sights now," Shangguan Qiuyue said, looking at him. "Although you aren’t afraid of them, even ants can cause a major headache."
Suddenly, Ye Fan reached out and tipped up Shangguan Qiuyue’s chin. The mont was incredibly intimate, carrying the aura of a domineering CEO.
"Could it be that you like , Mr. Ye?" Shangguan Qiuyue asked with a smile. "Actually, I have feelings for you, too. I don’t mind that you already have a woman by your side."
Ye Fan’s expression turned serious. "You think I don’t know you’re using ? I can help you deal with the Sky Sword Sect, but you’d better not play any tricks on !"
"I wouldn’t dare!" Shangguan Qiuyue replied, putting on a frightened expression.
Ye Fan then placed Mu Wanxin in the car, and they all left together.
By the ti Mu Wanxin woke up, it was morning. She was terrified and trembling slightly. She imdiately yelled at Shangguan Qiuyue, "You terrible woman, stop the car!"
"I’m not terrible at all," Shangguan Qiuyue retorted. "But since you’ve asked... Driver, stop the car."
The car ca to a stop. Mu Wanxin imdiately got out, and Ye Fan hurried after her. "Darling," she said, terrified, "you can’t be with them!"
"Darling, it’s alright. Don’t worry," Ye Fan said gently. "I will protect you. Cooperating with them is the only way for us to be safe for now."
He had the power to annihilate the Sky Sword Sect, but a single person couldn’t possibly wipe out an entire sect. Even if just a few ants escaped, they would beco a persistent nuisance.
Seeing Mu Wanxin’s distress pained him. "Darling, I’m sorry for dragging you into these violent affairs."
"No," she said, shaking her head. "I’m scared, I’m terrified, but I trust you, Ye Fan. From the mont I decided to be with you, I chose to follow you, no matter how complicated your identity is!"
Perhaps this was the power of love.
Ye Fan pulled her into a tight embrace. "Darling, I’m sorry. I love you so much, and I promise I will give you a peaceful life."
"Mhm," she murmured, clinging to him as if he were her only source of warmth.
After composing herself, Mu Wanxin got back into the car. She and Ye Fan sat in the backseat with Shangguan Qiuyue. Their car, along with one in front and one behind, was filled with bodyguards.
When Shangguan Qiuyue tried to speak to Ye Fan, Mu Wanxin snapped, "Stay away from my husband!"
"Oh? So little confidence?" Shangguan Qiuyue teased. "Afraid I’ll steal your husband? To be honest, I really do feel like snatching him away!"
"You!" Mu Wanxin flared up.
"Darling, just let it go," Ye Fan said, calming her down, and the matter was finally dropped.
"Alright," Shangguan Qiuyue announced. "I’ll take you to the Shangguan family estate now."
Upon arriving in the provincial capital, Shangguan Qiuyue led Ye Fan and Mu Wanxin to the Shangguan family compound. His arrival puzzled the family mbers, but it was clear that Shangguan Qiuyue held a very high status, as no one complained. Of course, no one recognized Ye Fan. The King of Heaven was the most mysterious of the Kings, and in truth, all four Kings were shrouded in mystery. No one knew their true backgrounds or what they looked like.
Ye Fan observed that the Shangguan Family Master was not weak. His strength was at the Postnatal Master level, making him a skilled fighter. In the vast underground world, however, that level was rely part of the mainstay. He was also Shangguan Qiuyue’s father.
He and Shangguan Qiuyue were currently speaking privately in a room.
"Qiuyue, was your trip successful?" the Shangguan Family Master asked.
"Dad, it was anything but," Shangguan Qiuyue revealed. "I sought help from the Gu Clan, but it seems they’ve sealed themselves off. They refused to help!"
"Then what are we to do?" The Shangguan Family Master grew worried. Their ancestor was in secluded cultivation, and the family’s experts, even including hired hands, were few. They were no match for the Sky Sword Sect.
"Dad, don’t worry just yet," Shangguan Qiuyue said. "Although I failed to get reinforcents from the Gu Clan, I brought back a different kind of aid."
"Him? That young man?" her father asked. To him, Ye Fan looked like an ordinary young man, hardly what he’d call reinforcents. To be useful, they’d need an Innate Expert at the minimum. To defeat the Sky Sword Sect, they really needed a King. A single King would be enough to wipe out the entire sect, but there were only a handful of Kings in the world.
"Dad, you must not underestimate him," Shangguan Qiuyue declared. "I don’t know the full extent of his strength, but he managed to slay the Sky Sword Sect’s Four Great Protectors during their combined assault with his bare hands and without suffering a single scratch. His help will be more than enough for us!"
"He’s that powerful? Not even our ancestor could slay the Four Great Protectors unscathed. A man like that is not easily hired. What price did you promise?"
"A quarter of the Shangguan Family’s assets," she stated, "and ."
"Absolutely not! The Shangguan Family is large, but a quarter of our assets is too steep. Besides, you are the Shangguan family’s strategist. How could you marry him?" her father imdiately rejected.
"Dad, don’t be so quick to refuse. You know I’m the Shangguan family’s strategist, so why would I make a deal that loses us money? Just leave everything to my arrangents."
Shangguan Qiuyue was resolute. To her, Ye Fan was a fierce tiger. As long as she could control this tiger, everything would fall into place. She was confident of this.
"Fine, handle it your way," her father conceded. "Qiuyue, our war with the Sky Sword Sect is imminent, and his origins are unknown. Should we have soone watch him?"
"Absolutely not, Dad. Do not provoke him lightly. Whatever he wants, whatever he needs, whatever conditions he sets—grant them all!" Shangguan Qiuyue insisted.
The Shangguan Family Master nodded. He didn’t understand why his daughter would indulge Ye Fan’s whims, but he had no choice but to defer to her.
「That evening.」
Shangguan Qiuyue approached Ye Fan. "Mr. Ye, I’m having a party. Would you like to join?"
"I’m busy," Ye Fan replied flatly.
"The party is right here at my family’s villa," she persisted. "You might consider it a nice way to relax, Mr. Ye."
"We’ll see," Ye Fan said noncommittally. "When are you going to deal with the Sky Sword Sect? If you don’t make a move soon, I’ll have to act on my own." His patience was already wearing thin.
