Hugo strolled back into his dorm room with the confidence of a man who had just finessed life itself.
He had done it. He had tricked Collins.
And not just any trick. It was a masterclass deception, a work of art, a stroke of pure genius.

It was simply beautiful.

With determination in his heart, he pulled up the ssaging app and quickly typed out a ssage.
[Hugo: Hey.]
The ssage was simple. Direct. There was no need for any extra words for now.
He stared at the ssage for a few seconds, then nodded.
Yeah. That was good.
It was mysterious but cool. Let her wonder who was texting her.
Hugo leaned back, waiting. Then, after a few monts, his phone buzzed. He quickly sat up and checked.
[Celine: Who's this?]
"…"
Ah.
So she really didn't rember him!
Hugo's eye twitched. He knew this would happen, but damn, it still hurt. It hurt because his profile picture was a selfie of his damn face!
She should have definitely seen his picture!
Hugo exhaled sharply and started typing.
[Hugo: It's Hugo.]
Maybe she just needed a little reminder.
Surely, once she saw his na and rechecked his picture, everything would click, right?
A few seconds later, she responded.
Her text ssage hit him like a bullet.
[Celine: Hugo… who?]

Hugo felt his soul leave his body. This woman!

She really had the audacity to act like she didn't know him?! Hugo gripped his phone tightly and quickly typed back.
[Hugo: Don't play dumb. The guy who ate you at the party. The guy YOU personally made suffer.]
He sent the ssage and crossed his arms, waiting.
This ti, she took longer to respond. Then, finally, his phone buzzed again.
[Celine: Ohhh. The weakling.]
There was a pin drop silence in his dorm room for a few seconds.
…Weakling?!
Was that really what she thought of him?
Hugo felt a vein pop on his forehead. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and counted to five.

Two.
Three—
Screw it!
He quickly typed.
[Hugo: First of all, I'm not weak. Second, YOU were the one who outed , so if anything, YOU are the villain in this situation!]
A mont later, she responded.
[Celine: LOL. Whatever you say, little guy.]
Little guy?!
Hugo almost threw his phone across the room.
This woman…
She was infuriating. Very infuriating!
But… he needed her.
So, as much as it pained him, he forced himself to be calm and kept typing.
[Hugo: You know what? Fine. I'm not here to argue. I just wanted to apologize.]
He waited.
Then, finally, a reply ca.
[Celine: Oh? Apologize for what?]
For what?!
Hugo gritted his teeth. Of course there was no reason! He wasn't the one at fault here! But still, he reminded himself to calm down once more.
[Hugo: For gaslighting you. Even though you clearly deserved it.]
DING!
[Celine: LOL. Wow. That's the worst apology I've ever seen.]
Hugo rubbed his temples.
Fine.
If this was what it took, he would do it properly.
[Hugo: Alright, I'm sorry. I was wrong to do such.]
DING!
[Celine: Much better. I accept.]
Hugo exhaled in relief.
Finally.
Now, onto the real reason he was here.
[Hugo: Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about sothing. Let's et up.]
DING!
[Celine: et up? Are you trying to eat again?]
Hugo slapped his forehead.
[Hugo: Maybe. But I just want to talk. That's it.]

[Celine: Hmmm. Sounds suspicious.]
Hugo clenched his jaw. This woman was playing with him. He took a deep breath and tried again.
[Hugo: Look, just think of it as repaying my debt for being bad to you. I'll even buy food.]
Silence.

DING!
[Celine: Now you're talking. I like food.]
Hugo fist-pumped the air.
[Hugo: Great. When are you free?]
DING!
[Celine: Hmm. Tomorrow evening?]
YES!
[Hugo: Perfect. I'll text you the details.]
DING!
[Celine: Alright, see you then, little guy.]
Hugo groaned loudly. But whatever. Mission accomplished.
Now… he just needed to survive the actual eting.
God help him.
