The room fell silent as every pair of eyes turned to him. Hugo's mouth hung open, his brain struggling to process what he just heard.
"What?!" he blurted out, earning a few chuckles from his classmates.
Professor Martinez gave him a patient smile. "Congratulations, Hugo. Please stand up."
Hugo slowly rose to his feet, still in shock. He turned to Loli, his expression a mix of disbelief and gratitude. "You're a genius," he whispered.
Loli shrugged, her smug smile making him want to laugh and groan at the sa ti.
Clearing his throat, Hugo straightened his back and tried to look confident. "So, I get to pick my team?" he asked, a hint of excitent creeping into his voice.
"That's correct," Professor Martinez replied.
Hugo scanned the room, his mind racing. 'Who do I pick? Ti to make so smart choices…'
