Chapter 2429: Chapter 2419: Four Illusory Shadows

The Magic Gun, carrying imnse force, slamd into Old Madman’s vulnerable side, sending him crashing into the bamboo forest mixed with a terrifying aura. However, Long Yan knew that such force alone was definitely not enough to kill Old Madman.

Though Long Yan did not understand the man before him well, he had a long-standing feeling: Old Madman might be an even stronger figure than his own grandfather, Long Qingtu. At this point, the surrounding blood mist had dispersed.

Grasping the soft and boneless hand of Qing Li nearby, Long Yan sprinted madly toward the bamboo forest’s entrance. Even now, while still in the Qilin Blood Demon Transformation state, he knew he was in no way a match for Old Madman.

The earlier successful surprise attack was only because Old Madman had just freed himself from Ti Binding. If he had been a second slower, Old Madman might have sliced Long Yan cleanly in two.

Of course, Qing Li’s face showed a faint blush as Long Yan dragged her along, but at this mont, Long Yan had no ti to notice, intent only on escaping the bamboo forest in one breath.

As he ran, Long Yan raised his right hand high, and the spinning Magic Gun flew back into his grasp. Behind him, a deafening noise erupted as the bamboo forest seed to be struck by so imnse force, shattering into countless fragnts.

Despite his concern for Old Madman’s condition behind him, Long Yan dared not look back. However, he began to doubt how long Qing Li could keep up; her endurance seed far beyond what he’d anticipated, as even Long Yan himself felt fatigued while Qing Li followed close behind, without showing the slightest sign of strain.

“Wait…”

Qing Li softly called out. Normally, her small voice wouldn’t reach Long Yan’s ears, but as he was now extrely alert to his surroundings, he naturally heard her.

Ahead, a towering figure stood motionless. It was none other than Old Madman, his blood-red eyes glaring. Blood dripped from a gaping wound on his right side, though Long Yan noticed the injury had already begun to scar—what a terrifying regenerative ability.

But Long Yan had no ti to marvel, as Old Madman’s Greatsword was already swinging down. Long Yan abruptly released Qing Li’s hand and shoved her aside.

At the critical mont, Long Yan grabbed the Magic Gun in his hand and blocked the twin Greatswords.

The devastating force slamd into him, forcing Long Yan to one knee. The swords continued to press down, even as his right wrist emitted a crisp cracking sound.

If this went on, defeating Old Madman might leave Long Yan permanently disabled. He had to think of so solution, but the twin Greatswords were already pressing against his head, looming like Mount Tai’s massive weight. For now, no solution ca to mind.

“Ti Thorn!”

Qing Li’s delicate cry resounded as a series of white Ti Spears pierced toward Old Madman’s wound from the Magic Gun strike. Yet to their shock, the white Power of Ti failed to penetrate his skin. Instead, it shattered upon contact with Old Madman’s iron-like surface.

Qing Li bit her silver tooth lightly. Was Old Madman a man of steel? Even steel would’ve been pierced by her attack! Yet his body proved harder than steel.

anwhile, Long Yan’s consciousness began to waiver, though his hands stubbornly clutched the Magic Gun tightly. Despite Old Madman’s overwhelming power, Long Yan thought his domain might still have so impact.

“Roar?”

A low beast-like growl unexpectedly escaped Old Madman’s mouth. Long Yan felt the weight above him lessen and noticed Old Madman looking puzzled at his feet, which had frozen over with a thick layer of ice, spreading up his legs at a visible rate.

“Howl!”

Suddenly, a horrifying sound and imnse force erupted from Old Madman’s body. A horrifying aura radiated from him as the epicenter, even sending Long Yan flying away from the pressure.

In this mont, the strain on Long Yan’s consciousness snapped—he fell unconscious from the overwhelming force. Ironically, this saved his life. Qing Li hurriedly rushed forward to support him, cradling Long Yan’s head in her arms.

The ice beneath Old Madman’s feet shattered under the explosive energy. The man before them had transford—no longer human but a frenzied beast.

“Die…”

Unintelligible words escaped Old Madman’s lips. Despite Qing Li’s repeated attacks, none affected him. A crushing despair seized her heart.

“Let… try again,”

Perhaps due to the oppressive aura outside, Long Yan slowly regained consciousness, catching sight of Qing Li’s emotional breakdown. It seed that, on the brink of the end, they hadn’t even begun their true chances at surviving.

Lost in despair, Qing Li muttered to herself, wholly unaware of Long Yan’s words. Her mind seed to verge on collapse. Resolutely, Long Yan struck her neck with a hand chop, causing her to faint.

Under current circumstances, unconsciousness was likely the best option for Qing Li. With a complex expression, Long Yan gently placed her down, grabbed the Magic Gun embedded in the ground, and stood.

“Huff… This pain… I just want to sleep…”

Long Yan heaved heavy breaths, every inch of his body screaming in agony. He kept calling out for Yun Huang, but no response ca—only silence.

Am I going to die here?

No, it’s impossible—I still have things to do!

A terrifying energy surged from within Long Yan. Several shadowy figures of himself materialized above him, each glowing like a Sun. One was exceptionally sinister, another brimming with Buddhist compassion, and yet another resembled frozen Cold Ice. On closer examination, a faint barely-visible figure appeared—it bore striking resemblance to Long Yan yet seed connected to the celestial stars above.

This was the power of the many Suns within Long Yan. In an instant, the approaching Old Madman froze where he stood.

“Stars…”

Indecipherable words slipped from Old Madman’s mouth, and imdiately, as though struck on the head, he let out a pained howl and clutched his head.

But no one noticed that the blood-red gleam in Old Madman’s eyes was fading away. As the threat dissipated, the four shadow forms of Long Yan returned to his body. Long Yan, now lying flat on the ground, emitted steady breaths.

“Long Yan, Qing Li!”

Qing Yan’s voice ca from the distance. After battling alongside Long Yan amidst the blood mist, she had been separated from everyone. Spotting signs of combat nearby, she rushed over.

“Boom!”

A loud noise startled Qing Yan. She turned and saw Old Madman rising from the ground!
