Chapter 2349: Chapter 2339: Shadow

For a while, everyone in the room was drawn to Lei Bai. After all, this uninvited guest represented the most powerful comrcial association in the eastern part of the Qin Dynasty. Of course, this was not beyond Long Yan’s expectations. If Lei Bai hadn’t co today, Long Yan would have found it rather odd.

“So it’s you, Chairman Lei.”

Long Yan didn’t speak. Instead, Zhao Yue, sitting opposite Long Yan, responded. However, judging by his expression, Zhao Yue didn’t seem to welco Lei Bai very much.

Walking past Long Yan, Lei Bai acted as if he didn’t even see him, heading directly toward Zhao Yue. Long Yan rely let out a cold laugh. There seed to be an ambiguous connection between Lei Bai and the Iron Hand Chamber of Comrce before.

It was likely that the two Divine Emperors under Lei Mu’s command were Lei Bai’s handiwork. After all, for a comrcial association that only had two small cities as its foundation, even with the help of two Divine Emperors, targeting the Yann Comrce Association, which recently swept through the entire North, would be too bold.

Thus, Long Yan concluded that Lei Mu must have so backing behind him. The Iron Hand Chamber of Comrce was rely a pawn of the Jin Business Association.

Lei Bai acted as though Long Yan was invisible, walking directly to Zhao Yue’s side. In his heart, a so-called dark horse like Yann Comrce Association wasn’t worth befriending. Lei Mu was under his subordinate comrcial association, and Long Yan’s destruction of Lei Mu was tantamount to a slap in his face. This was common knowledge in the comrce circle. Yet today, Zhao Yue had privately hosted Long Yan, puzzling Lei Bai.

“Heh, Chairman Zhao, you probably know the reason I’m here today, don’t you?”

Lei Bai sneered as he glanced at Zhao Yue, his face showing a trace of contempt. After all, the Jin Business Association had the support of three to four first-class sects behind it, which connected them to the cultivation world. This wasn’t sothing Zhao Yue, who was purely in the comrcial world, could compare to.

“Chairman Lei, my dealings with others have nothing to do with you, don’t you agree?”

Zhao Yue responded with a smile, but a flicker of coldness streaked across his lips. Lei Bai’s blatant intrusion gave Zhao Yue no face at all. While both were among the three major business associations, even in the face of sect backing, Zhao Yue was unyielding.

“Of course, Chairman Zhao’s collaborations don’t concern , but if Chairman Zhao chooses to partner with my enemy, then I can assu the Sword Business Association is declaring war on the Jin Business Association?”

Lei Bai arrogantly dragged a chair over and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. The smirk tugging at his lips displayed his pride. Between the two parties, the choice should have been obvious to Lei Bai.

“This…”

Zhao Yue found himself at a loss for words. Lei Bai was indeed too aggressive.

“Enemy? Ha, the Jin Business Association really thinks too highly of itself.”

Long Yan interjected at just the right mont, drawing Lei Bai’s gaze toward him and offering Zhao Yue so relief. Zhao Yue looked at Long Yan with gratitude, but Long Yan remained indifferent, only nodding faintly, his tone carrying a trace of coldness.

“What kind of thing are you, that you think you can speak to ?”

To Lei Bai, Long Yan was rely the so-called Elder Guest of Yann Comrce Association, and he didn’t even bother to regard Long Yan seriously.

Long Yan was furious but smiled instead. Lei Bai was undeniably arrogant. Yet, should Long Yan act now, it would appear as though he’d lost his composure. So, staring at the seated Lei Bai, Long Yan spoke slowly and firmly.

“You think you’re worthy?”

“You!”

Lei Bai, occupying his lofty position, was rarely addressed so directly. His narrow eyes squinted slightly—what arrogance from the youth.

“Once I cut off your tongue, let’s see if you’ll still speak to like this.”

With a casual wave of Lei Bai’s right hand, the shadow that had followed him inside darted forward like a Thunder Leopard. Its target was Long Yan, and its dagger glead coldly, casting a chill through the small space.

Long Yan remained seated, unmoving. Lei Bai assud Long Yan had been petrified with fear, his joy surging. If he could kill Long Yan here, the alliance between the two business associations would dissolve naturally, and the Jin Business Association would have nothing to worry about.

With this thought, Lei Bai grew even more determined to kill Long Yan. But just then, a furious roar that shook the entire room rang out. A towering figure appeared before Long Yan, shielding him. The shadow, trained well, imdiately changed direction and aid its dagger at the large figure blocking its path.

Naturally, the figure before Long Yan was Niu Shan. Seeing soone attack Long Yan, Niu Shan tossed aside the chicken leg he was eating and charged forward like a cannonball. Facing the dagger now re inches away, Niu Shan’s eyes, as round as copper bells, narrowed slightly, and he struck out with his right fist.

Watching from behind, Long Yan shook his head. Despite teaching Niu Shan so much, when it ca to actual combat, Niu Shan always panicked and resorted to his most basic attacks.

Sure enough, Niu Shan’s punch sent the shadow retreating. Yet, the dagger, crafted from so unknown material, managed to carve a bloody mark on Niu Shan’s skin despite his physical toughness. The shadow retreated several steps before vanishing into thin air.

It seed the opponent’s divine ability involved concealing themselves. However, like all such techniques, it had its vulnerabilities. The shadow’s body trembled sporadically, revealing a significant flaw, though Niu Shan had clearly lost his composure.

“Niu Shan, don’t panic. Rember the things I taught you.”

Niu Shan, after all, was rely a True God. Against soone who could hide their movents, he lacked effective strategies. Yet, if Niu Shan could incorporate True Qi into his combat, such opponents would pose no challenge to him.

With a swoosh, the shadow darted past Niu Shan’s side, leaving a one-foot-long gash on his chest. If not for Niu Shan’s quick reflexes, it could have been a fatal wound. Still, Niu Shan’s robust body healed rapidly, the gash already beginning to close within a few breaths.

Indeed, the Great Witch’s physique was terrifyingly resilient. Long Yan couldn’t help but click his tongue in awe. His innate physical advantages were envy-inducing. The opponent’s straightforward attack thods were evidently not very powerful. Niu Shan had beco little more than a punching bag, passively enduring the shadow’s onslaught while failing to mount a counterattack. His emotions were far too agitated. If he could calm himself, he might find a way to overco the enemy.

Seeing his shadow suppressing Niu Shan, Lei Bai smiled arrogantly, casting a mocking glance at Long Yan, as if to say, “This battle is mine—you’re no match for .”

“As expected, following the wrong master only leads to a beating. Slaves are all the sa.”

Lei Bai waved his hand dismissively as if swatting away an insect. Niu Shan’s face flushed crimson with embarrassnt and rage at Lei Bai’s words.
