The weather in Imperial City in March is still a bit chilly. Sheng Yan was strolling slowly in the little garden at Dongting Lake Garden, occasionally looking up to see the kids throwing sandbags, which hit the ground with a "pah-chir" sound.

The sound wasn’t loud, but it wasn’t particularly pleasant either.

The kids in the neighborhood rarely saw Sheng Yan, curiously glanced at him a few tis, only thinking this uncle looked really handso, like the main character in animation.

Perhaps it was too quiet with him sitting there alone, so kids couldn’t help but gather around. A chubby and particularly adorable child bravely asked, "Handso Uncle, why are you sitting here alone, where are your family?"

Looking at the innocent faces of the children, Sheng Yan couldn’t help but subtly curl his lips, and said softly, "My family will be coming down soon. I’m just taking a walk here first."

The children suddenly understood, and another asked, "Handso Uncle, do you want to join us in setting off firecrackers? We have lots and lots of firecrackers, they make really loud noises when thrown on the ground, like this big!"

That child gestured energetically, brimming with lively childlike enthusiasm, "Handso Uncle, you can play with , I’m willing to share with you. My mom says children who like to share are good kids."

Sheng Yan laughed out loud, couldn’t help but reach out to pat the child’s head, and said gently, "No need, Uncle doesn’t play these, you can play by yourself."

The child backed up a few steps and said, "My mom said not to pat people’s heads, it’ll stop you from growing tall!"

Sheng Yan couldn’t help but chuckle, nodding in agreent, "Uncle was wrong, Uncle won’t pat your head anymore."

"It’s okay, Uncle, I’m not afraid of not growing tall, you can pat !" A little girl in a pink cotton coat ca forward and said.

Other children also ca over, saying, "Uncle, you can pat !"

"Uncle, I also let you pat !"

Sheng Yan was montarily stunned, a hint of helplessness crossing his face.

Weren’t kids supposed to dislike serious adults? His usual deanor was quite serious, yet these kids didn’t fear him?

This was indeed peculiar.

Sheng Yan didn’t realize that despite being serious, his overall aura was very warm. Initially, the kids were a bit hesitant to approach him, but once they got close and familiarized themselves with him, they beca fearless.

Having finally dealt with the group of kids, Sheng Yan took out his phone to check and found that Yanyu had texted him "OK" ten minutes ago to indicate it’s sorted.

Sheng Yan smiled again, stood up, and turned to the kids, "Uncle has things to do and needs to head ho first. Don’t run to secluded places, be careful of getting taken away by bad people, and be cautious when playing with firecrackers. Many kids have accidentally hurt their hands, it hurts a lot."

The kids repeatedly promised to be careful, so even said, "Uncle, where are you going, I’ll escort you back!"

Upon hearing this, other kids chid in too, "Yeah, Uncle, we’ll see you off!"

Sheng Yan couldn’t help but rub his forehead; he realized he seed to have no resistance against children.

He thought that the child he’d have with Jinxia might be just as cute as these kids.

"No need, you guys go play, Uncle will get ho safely, and you must be careful."

Sheng Yan patiently said, waving goodbye to the kids one by one.

Just as he reached the main entrance downstairs, his phone suddenly rang — it was a call from the lobby guard.

Sheng Yan answered absentmindedly, "Hello?"

Guard: "Mr. Sheng, soone nad He Hui wants to visit your unit, claiming to be your wife’s aunt."

The guard was unaware that this Mr. Sheng was the legendary super celebrity, Sheng Yan, and didn’t care about the na "He Hui", being too old to chase stars; he was also oblivious to the incidents He Hui caused with He Jinxia in past years.

Sheng Yan’s expression paused, saying, "Don’t let them in, I’ll go check in person."

Guard: "Alright, Mr. Sheng."

At the gate of Dongting Lake Garden, He Hui saw the guard hung up the phone and hurriedly approached, saying, "I told you, I’m really He Jinxia’s aunt, let in, I’m here to pay New Year’s visits!"

The guard was a stern and upright old man, a veteran, who specialized in spotting suspicious criminals in densely populated places like subways when he was young, a skill honed over decades and maintained even after retirent.

Due to the guard’s diligence, he could annually catch those with no real relations trying to sneak in, distributing flyers, or even capturing robbers attempting to enter!

From his years of experience, the guard felt He Hui and her companions seed guilty and not like they were here for New Year’s visits, which is why he asked for their nas and purpose just in case.

He sternly said at this point, "You can’t go in. He will co down to see you."

He Hui anxiously said, "Why are you so unreasonable, didn’t you verify our identity over the phone? Why can’t we go in?"

He Hui glanced around, though there weren’t many people on the street now, one never knows when a paparazzo might suddenly pop up. She ca to plead with He Jinxia, and if paparazzi took pictures, He Jinxia might hate them even more.

Her daughter-in-law behind her looked timid, feeling ashad to co begging for money, she deliberately wore a hat and mask.

Guard: "I just phoned the unit owner, and he doesn’t acknowledge you as his aunt. He said not to let you in, and he’ll co down to find you, so you can’t enter."

"Hey, you—"

"Since you’re here for New Year’s visits, then what’s the rush? The unit owner himself said he’d co down. Are you here to rob?" The guard suddenly said, his sharp eyes fixed on her.

He Hui quickly responded, "No, I’m not!"

Just then, soone entered the gate using their card from outside, curiously glanced at He Hui’s group, causing her and her daughter-in-law to lower their heads imdiately, too scared to speak.

Gradually, others entered from outside; the two felt uneasy about being recognized, so they kept quiet.

About ten minutes later, Sheng Yan arrived.

He greeted the guard, then looked at the two who were on edge, and said indifferently, "Co with ."

On the first day of the New Year, while welcoming the new year, it was an apt ti to resolve any unresolved issues thoroughly, to enjoy a worry-free year.

While so matters weren’t spoken by Jinxia, Sheng Yan could guess.

Before they beca husband and wife, even if Sheng Yan wanted to intervene to help her, he couldn’t due to lack of position. But now it was different. As his wife, he would protect her himself.
