The dubbing seed to co from far beyond the heavens—
"Who am I?"
"I am Yuxi, just an ordinary leaf spirit."
"Who... who am I really?"
In the scene, Yuxi abruptly opened her eyes while lying in bed, her eyes seemingly swirling with thousands of stars and lightning.
Then, everything plunged into darkness, and one by one, golden characters slowly erged from the darkness, as if they had been engraved in the universe for a long ti—
"Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows."
After watching the preview, Mrs. He’s excited voice rang out, "Jinxia, isn’t this the series you fild right before last sumr’s vacation? Is it about to be broadcast now?"
He Jinxia paused, not quite sure, and said, "After the filming ended, I haven’t really been in touch with Director Liu, but now that the trailer is out, the official release mustn’t be far off."
Sheng Yan said, "The TV ntioned that it starts broadcasting on January 15th, which is two weeks from now, replacing a popular variety show that just aired."
Everyone else stopped caring about their card ga, asking one after another about the TV series.
"It doesn’t look like a normal ancient costu drama, does it?"
"Yeah, this is a Xianxia drama with a lot of special effects. Many of the shots were done in front of a green screen."
"The preview looks good and the plot seems exciting, but I wonder how the full series will turn out. Wasn’t there an official announcent?"
Reminded by this question, He Jinxia opened W Bo and saw that "Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows" had posted a trailer an hour earlier and had already seized a spot in the top ten of W Bo’s trending search list.
While checking the replies, He Jinxia responded to Aunt Rui’s question, "They just started the promotion today, and many people were surprised because there was absolutely no buzz before this, only knowing it was a series that Qiu Zhenze and I starred in, with no details about the other supporting roles."
Mrs. He and Aunt Rui were both up to date; they both had W Bo accounts and, upon hearing this, pulled out their phones to start browsing for more information.
[OMG, Qin Siqin, the little princess is in it, and Yu Yanyu, that goofball, is also in it; the second male lead is actually Ren Xiao! Xiao Xiang Team, did you guys team up to hype "Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows" or what???]
[This has to be the most bizarre cast I’ve seen. No actor photos leaked, just a trailer out first, and you have to notice the trailer to even see which actors are in it. I need individual actor photos!]
[Don’t tell the whole production budget went into special effects so they couldn’t even afford to take promo photos.]
[Wait, you guys got it wrong. This series was finished right before last sumr, and "Rescue 5 Hours" was fild after that, so strictly speaking, it should be "Xiao Xiang Team" going to hype up "Rescue Team"!]
[Looking forward to it, the special effects seem well done. Jinxia also said a big portion of the budget for the series was spent on special effects.]
[No, no, no, I’ve lost all hope for dostic special effects costing less than a dollar; don’t even try to lure into this pit, I won’t jump!]
[I haven’t even had enough of their performance in "Rescue 5 Hours," and now "Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows" cos out, I will definitely continue to follow and support them!]
[Big~Bang~Rescue Team reunited once again!]
Most of the online reviews were positive, yet all this acclaim was based on the reputation of "Rescue 5 Hours." The real verdict would have to wait until after "Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows" was officially released.
He Jinxia browsed seriously and occasionally ca across a few comnts on the special effects of the film. They all indicated that if the special effects in the actual film were the sa as those in the trailer, it would definitely make for a great movie.
Since Jinxia’s new TV series was out, no one was in the mood to keep playing cards. They all busily scrolled through the trailer and then promoted "Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows" on Weibo and WeChat.
Sheng Yan sat next to Jinxia, analyzing with her, "Starting with a trailer for promotion likely ans they’ve just finished the special effects and the release date is approaching. They released the film first and then slowly built up the hype."
"If the film had been ready for a while, they would have started the publicity and hype one or two months before the release. It’s probably because it wasn’t ready, and without a solid base, they didn’t dare to publicize it."
He Jinxia was a bit bewildered by all this. She could act, but promotion and marketing were indeed not gas that soone with ancient thinking could play in the modern world.
She was about to say sothing when suddenly Director Liu from the set called her. Jinxia answered the phone.
After communicating for a while, she occasionally nodded and responded with "Mm," "Okay," "Can do," and didn’t talk for long before hanging up.
Looking up, everyone was curious, with Mrs. He asking, "What did the director want?"
He Jinxia smiled, "Director Liu wants to do more promotion on Weibo. I agreed to him."
Mrs. He felt relieved, "That’s good. I was worried there might be so mishap with this film, like it not being able to be released on ti or having to delay the release."
Her last but one TV series "Small Bridge, Flowing Water, People" had a troubled release. Mrs. He knew all about it and it had scared her, as she thought her daughter’s career might stall. Thankfully, "Small Bridge" ultimately made it through.
He Jinxia continued to scroll through information on the film for a while longer, until the elders, seeing it was getting late, urged them to go to bed and rest early.
Before going to bed that night, He Jinxia suddenly thought of sothing. She checked the ti and saw it was just Luo You’s rest ti, so she made a call to him.
When Luo You answered the phone, his tone was slightly strange as he asked, "You already know?"
He Jinxia thought he was referring to the announcent of "Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows" release date, "I didn’t know initially, but tonight while watching TV, I saw the trailer for ’Xiao Xiangyu’s Many Sorrows’ and learned that the film was scheduled to be released on January 15.
Shortly after watching the trailer, Director Liu personally called to ask if I could help with the promotion. I agreed.
I was thinking that individual promotion wouldn’t be as effective as a collective effort, so could you contact the agents of Qiu Zhenze, Yu Yanyu, Qin Siqin, and Ren Xiao on my behalf to discuss and plan so coordinated interaction?"
Lou You paused for a mont before quickly realizing, "So ’Xiao Xiang’ is about to be aired. I didn’t know that. Director Liu hasn’t called ; he went straight to you."
He Jinxia frowned, hesitantly asking, "I thought he had talked with you already and got your consent before coming to ."
Typically, the matters related to a star’s work are managed by their agent. Before accepting any assignnt, they have to inform their agent and coordinate schedules to make it happen.
Therefore, if a star agrees to an engagent on their own, it might not always be feasible. The actual possibility still depends on the agent’s scheduling.
