Zhang Ming and Luo You arrived at the sa ti.

One wore a face of worry, glancing at Sheng Yan with deep resentnt.

The other was the complete opposite, his smile beaming like that of Maitreya Buddha.

Sighing heavily, Zhang Ming led Sheng Yan back to the conference room where only He Jinxia and Luo You remained.

With no outsiders present, Luo You didn’t hide his joy and burst out laughing.

He reached out to pat Jinxia on the shoulder but halfway through, he seed to rember sothing and quickly withdrew his hand, rubbing them together instead, and said happily,

"I almost forgot you have a boyfriend now. I can’t be as casual as before. You handled this situation very well, very well indeed!"

He Jinxia found it ridiculous, thinking, What’s wrong with a pat on the shoulder? Sheng Yan wouldn’t be so petty.

But as she thought about it, an image of Sheng Yan with a blank expression flashed in her mind, making her cough lightly.

It seed as if... regarding matters related to her, Sheng Yan always tended to be petty.

Cough, cough, cough.

"I’ve heard all about it. Li Zhao went too far. You probably didn’t know his background; not only is he a well-known investor, but he’s also a mber of the Golden Custard Award Organizing Committee.

His behavior tonight has already spread throughout the industry; many celebrities think he went too far and it has also affected their perception of the Golden Custard Award."

"After all, Li Zhao is a mber of the committee. Who knows if his actions were officially sanctioned? If that’s the case, then the reputation of the Golden Custard Award is really ruined!"

He Jinxia murmured lightly, "I knew he was on the committee. Sister Qin ntioned his position when she introduced him to . He spoke to in a wrong tone; I felt he was looking for trouble, so I just turned the tables on him."

Luo You’s eyes sparkled as he said, "You did well. Knowing that you’re allergic to alcohol and still forcing you to drink, his behavior was horrendous!

I was worried that the mbers of the Golden Custard Award Organizing Committee and Pineapple TV might target or even blacklist you, but with Li Zhao’s incident, they definitely won’t dare make any sneaky moves now."

After a mont’s thought, He Jinxia asked, "Will this incident be made public?"

Luo You shook his head, "No, since this is a major national award and Li Zhao is a celebrity, no matter the cost, the Golden Custard Award won’t let this negative news spread."

He Jinxia furrowed her brows, "If it doesn’t get out, it won’t be a threat to them, and wouldn’t all my efforts be in vain?"

Luo You raised his eyebrows, "Of course not. It’s just not being communicated to the public. But many celebrities in the industry will know about it. The negativity toward the Golden Custard Award already exists in their minds. If anything else happens with the Golden Custard Award in the future, the celebrities probably won’t attend."

"You’ve done very well. Now they don’t dare blacklist you, not even try to trip you up. With Li Zhao’s incident, all celebrities are watching!"

He Jinxia’s expression remained indifferent. Being targeted by others but turning the tables on them was sothing she had done often in the past. Today was just a minor manipulation, and she felt no sense of accomplishnt for having erged victorious.

In her ear, Luo You continued, "Tomorrow morning you are flying back to the US to go directly to the film set. You need to rest well tonight."

Having confird that he had covered everything, Luo You turned to leave. Suddenly, he stopped, slapped his head, and turned back, saying,

"Look at my mory. There’s one more thing. Yesterday, I received a screenplay in my email. It’s an invitation from Director Liu. He ntioned discussing this film with you, and you said you were very interested in acting in it. I’ve looked over the script briefly; it’s an ancient fantasy drama."

"I’m confident in Director Liu’s work. I’ve sent the script to your email. Check it out when you have ti and let know your decision soon. This project will start filming soon."

He Jinxia nodded, indicating she understood.

Just as Luo You was about to leave the conference room, He Jinxia suddenly called out to him, asking in a serious tone, "Brother Luo, how seriously do people take my alcohol allergy?"

Luo You pondered for a mont, then shook his head lightly, countering, "What does it matter whether it’s true or not?"

"Don’t worry about what others think. Regardless, the fact that you’re allergic to alcohol isn’t going anywhere. Be careful not to touch alcohol at all in the future."

He Jinxia nodded with a light-hearted smile, "Exactly my thought."

...

On the other side, unlike Luo You and He Jinxia who were joyfully cheerful, Sheng Yan and Zhang Ming were in a low-pressure mood.

Zhang Ming also learned a new trick to handle Sheng Yan. Knowing that forcing Sheng Yan not to do this or that regarding He Jinxia would be impossible, he just kept sighing deeply and continuously at him.

Without saying a word, just sighing with lancholy.

Even though Sheng Yan ignored him and sat processing docunts, his cool thoughts were annoyed by the sighing.

Sheng Yan paused, arrogantly glanced up at him, and said indifferently, "If you have sothing to say, say it quickly, I need to get off work."

Zhang Ming still sighed heavily but stopped beating around the bush and said solemnly:

"I think, for soone to charm a beauty, he’s even willing to neglect his own career. Poor , with aging parents and an unborn child on the way, facing the risk of losing my job, I..."

Sheng Yan interrupted, "Speak plainly."

Zhang Ming quickly explained the impacts of Sheng Yan’s actions today, elaborating on the negative effects without even pausing for breath.

After listening, Sheng Yan asked incisively, "Will it affect my status?"

Zhang Ming shook his head. There would be an impact, but no shake to his status.

If it were that easy to shake, he wouldn’t deserve to be called a superstar.

Sheng Yan then asked, "Will it affect my earnings?"

Zhang Ming thought for a mont, then shook his head again.

Making money for Sheng Yan was just about taking on more endorsents or increasing endorsent fees, not an issue at all.

Finally, Sheng Yan asked, "Then what are you worried about?"

Zhang Ming choked on his words, suddenly at a loss for words.

After a while, he regained his composure and said, "Although they are small impacts, they will affect your reputation, like your negative news with He Jinxia. Now He Jinxia has completely made enemies with the Golden Custard Award, and it will damage the company’s image as well..."

After listening, Sheng Yan responded indifferently, "The things you’re worried about are not problems. He Jinxia is an artist signed to Tonghua Entertainnt. If Tonghua Entertainnt can’t even protect one of its artists, what’s the use of being a leader in the industry?"

"As for Jinxia and , rumors about us will co out sooner or later. This is a good opportunity to start from the camaraderie of fellow disciples and gradually transition from there."

Zhang Ming retorted, "That’s probably the real reason you acted this way today, isn’t it?"

Sheng Yan gave no affirmation or denial and did not respond.

Seeing him like this, Zhang Ming knew that no matter what he said, Sheng Yan wouldn’t listen to him. After thinking it over, he said, "I know you have your own ideas, so I won’t interfere with your approach concerning He Jinxia in the future."

"However, I must remind you that He Jinxia’s current status still doesn’t match yours; revealing your relationship too early could provoke backlash from many fans and netizens. If you truly consider for He Jinxia, this year isn’t a good ti to go public."

Sheng Yan lowered his gaze, "I know."

Zhang Ming scoffed, he didn’t believe it!

If Sheng Yan truly had that much self-control over He Jinxia, he wouldn’t have carried out the princess lift in front of all the celebrities today.

That was a princess lift, so full of love and girlish heart~~~
