The three of them walked out of the store hand in hand, with Cheng Xiaohua curiously asking all the way, "What on earth happened, why aren’t you guys telling ?"

"Was it sothing fun? You guys didn’t sneak off to see so handso guys behind my back, did you?"

"Could it have been a terrorist attack?" Sister Xiao Hua’s imagination went into overdrive as she bubbled with excitent, "That’s why you both hurried away."

But as soon as she said it, she denied it, "Wait, no, that’s not right. Although no one at our table left, there were still people at the other tables."

Cheng Xiaohua prattled on all the way to the square without stopping, while Xie Jiahui and He Jinxia let it go in one ear and out the other.

They really didn’t want to pay attention to Cheng Xiaohua, not one bit!

In the end, it was He Jinxia who couldn’t stand Sister Xiao Hua’s nagging anymore and patted her on the shoulder, "Sister Xiao Hua."

Cheng Xiaohua’s eyes lit up, "I’m here!"

He Jinxia said with a heavy heart, "Knowing too much could get you shot."

Cheng Xiaohua’s eyes widened and she couldn’t help but swear, "Damn, so you really did encounter a terrorist attack?"

He Jinxia looked inscrutable and only said that line, "This isn’t for you to know."

Cheng Xiaohua swallowed her saliva and cald down.

Xie Jiahui covered her mouth and giggled, turning her head away.

Fun, fun, she decided, she would tease Cheng Xiaohua whenever she was bored.

Actually, Cheng Xiaohua knew they couldn’t have possibly encountered a terrorist attack. If they really had, the alarm would’ve sounded at the scene, and it wouldn’t be as calm as it was now, right?

The innocent act she put on was deliberate, from the expressions on He Jinxia and Xie Jiahui’s faces, she could tell sothing had weighed them down, but she had no idea what it was.

So she ca up with this thod, hoping to cheer them up.

In the evening, the group had a big al at a barbecue restaurant, where Cheng Xiaohua didn’t talk much and just started downing drinks from her glass.

He Jinxia, as always, stepped back and silently watched them go head-to-head in their drinking.

If the drinks hadn’t been Sprite mixed with red wine, He Jinxia would never have let them drink that furiously.

That day, He Jinxia took on the heavy responsibility again, supporting the two drunkards back to their hotel.

Just as they returned to the hotel, she saw Ola and Charles at the entrance.

Since the driver had parked a good distance from the door, He Jinxia didn’t fuss and called Ola over to help.

Ola and Charles both ca over, their faces wearing smiles, showing not the slightest impatience.

Ola asked He Jinxia who Xie Jiahui was, but He Jinxia only said she was a friend and refused to divulge more.

Feeling that she didn’t want to share, Ola didn’t press further and helped get the two drunkards to their room, and the group went their separate ways.

He Jinxia watched as Ola and Charles left, chatting and laughing, a glint of contemplation flashed in her eyes. Before, Sister Xiao Hua had ntioned that Ola seed to like Charles, and now it seed there might genuinely be sothing between them.

She closed the door, shrugged her shoulders, and stopped thinking about it. After settling Cheng Xiaohua and Xie Jiahui down, He Jinxia took out her phone, her eyes betraying a mischievous glint.

Now, she still had a very important thing left undone.

It was already night in the States, but it was still afternoon in Huaxia, so He Jinxia had no trouble contacting Sheng Yan.

He Jinxia: [I heard you were quite popular with the girls in the compound when you were younger?]

Sheng Yan had just finished so work and was resting in the car when his phone vibrated at just the right mont.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and a sense of wariness suddenly sprung up in him. Why was Jinxia suddenly asking about this?

Out of a man’s survival instinct, Sheng Yan said humbly, "It was alright, why do you ask?"

Seeing that Sheng Yan could send voice ssages, He Jinxia didn’t beat around the bush anymore and directly sent one back, chuckling, "Oh, no reason. I was just marveling at how exceptional my boyfriend has been since he was young."

Sheng Yan’s lips curved slightly, "The man you set your sights on is definitely a good one."

He Jinxia was taken aback by the sudden praise, and found it hard to continue with her next question.

But He Jinxia was no ordinary person. She acted as if she hadn’t heard it and kept talking cheerily, "Jiahui told there was a girl who followed you around since you were young?"

Sheng Yan’s heart tensed, and a crisis lood!

He pondered for a mont and said, "There are too many people around , I can’t rember them all."

In the end, he added another sentence, his deep and llow voice intoxicating like fine wine, "Jinxia, you are the only exception."

He Jinxia sighed lightly, "Sheng Yan, don’t divert my attention. Your pretty boy tricks won’t work on ."

Sheng Yan: "..."

He Jinxia: "Voice seduction won’t work either."

Sheng Yan: "..."

Seeing that the person on the other end of WeChat remained silent and didn’t send any voice ssages, He Jinxia imagined Sheng Yan with a frustrated look on his face, and she couldn’t help but chuckle secretly.

She picked up her phone, and with a smiling voice asked, "Tell , who is Bai Bing?"

Soon after, Sheng Yan sent a voice ssage filled with a strong desire to survive: "I don’t know her."

He Jinxia sent back five words directly: [You don’t love anymore]

He Jinxia: [You’re actually lying to [sad]]

He Jinxia: [I don’t want to deal with you anymore]

Sheng Yan: [Hitting is affection, scolding is love, baby, I just didn’t want you to overthink]

He Jinxia: [So you admit that you hit and scolded ?]

Sheng Yan: [I won’t admit false accusations]

He Jinxia: [You don’t love anymore]

Sheng Yan: [...I was wrong QAQ]

He Jinxia stared at the ssage for a long ti before replying with two words: [So?]

Sheng Yan: [I’ll go kneel on a washboard]

He Jinxia was satisfied, but still said, [You explain who Bai Bing is first, then kneel]

Sheng Yan: [Actually, she, well, is just a boring person...]

He Jinxia: [?]

Sheng Yan: [...I had hardly any interaction with her, also didn’t know what to tell you]

He Jinxia’s eyes flickered slightly: [No interaction, didn’t she give you a lot of things from when you were young until now?]

Sheng Yan: [What she sent on this end, I threw away on that end]

He Jinxia’s eyes narrowed slightly: [You didn’t keep a single item?]

Sheng Yan: [Didn’t keep any!]

After thinking for a bit, He Jinxia leisurely sent a ssage back: [Mr. Sheng, consider yourself to have barely passed today]

Sheng Yan: [Can I not kneel on the washboard?]

He Jinxia: [No [head shake]]

Sheng Yan: [But I miss you; how about I video call you while I kneel?]

He Jinxia, imagining the scene of Sheng Yan kneeling and scrubbing the washboard with a lancholic gaze fixed on her, shuddered—

[You’re ruthless! I’ll spare you from kneeling!]

Sheng Yan: [Thank you for your grace.jpg]

...

After sweetly exchanging text ssages with her boyfriend, He Jinxia got ready and promptly fell asleep, as she had to resu filming tomorrow. There were many more dramatic scenes for her to act, and she couldn’t slack off!

On the other hand, after He Jinxia sent a [Goodnight] image, Sheng Yan too sent a goodnight ssage back, put down his phone, and looked out the window, lost in thought.

A dark glint crossed his eyes as he felt it was necessary to have a talk with Xie Jiahui.

He wasn’t asking for her assistance, but rather that she not make things worse!
