Luo i wasn’t living a life completely cut off from the world; she had a child that the neighbors all knew about. Under the relentless questioning of the couple, suspicions began to arise that Luo i’s child was the one who had gone missing, leading them to see for themselves.
The dispute, therefore, began to erupt. What exactly had happened four years ago? Was Luo i a human trafficker, and where had the child co from...
Mrs. He had been taken by Cheng Xiaohua to buy a bottle of water and eat an ice lolly. When she returned to the film set, she saw He Jinxia, acting as "Luo i," confronting the couple who had co looking for their child.
Luo i spread her arms to shield the child behind her, not letting them take the child away, and stubbornly yelled, "This is my child, not yours! I raised him from a young age!"
A neighbor tried to diate, "Luo i, where exactly did you get this child from? You didn’t even have a baby bump when you moved here two years ago, and then suddenly a child appeared out of nowhere. That child isn’t even yours by birth, is he?"
Luo i gave her a glare, "He is mine, by birth. He is my child, and you won’t take him away from !"
"Wuuu, what a sin! My child, wuu, that’s clearly my child. He looks just like his father did when he was young, and I can’t be mistaken—that’s my child!"
The woman broke down crying on the ground, trying to go and hug the child but was stopped by others.
If it turned out the child wasn’t hers and she took him away, all the neighbors would bear responsibility!
"Luo i, did you pick up this child?" soone loudly challenged.
He Jinxia, acting as Luo i, spat on the ground and turned to tightly embrace the child, shrieking fiercely, "He is my child! You’re talking nonsense, these two people have co to trick my child away!"
The woman’s husband looked at Luo i grimly and said, "My child disappeared on this street four years ago, and your child suddenly appeared around the sa ti. Let the child co with us for a paternity test. If there is no relation, we will leave imdiately."
Luo i scoffed, her voice hoarse from yelling, mocking, "You lost your child, and now any child you see you claim is yours. Do all four-year-old children have to go for a paternity test with you?"
Her tone was firm, "This is my child, I raised him!"
The woman, sobbing and slapping her leg, pleaded, "Child, I beg you, he is my child, I recognize him. I knew he was my child the mont I saw him. Please, give him back to ! I beg you!"
Luo i bit down hard, her eyes reddening with tears. The child in her arms, frightened, trembled and reached to tug at her, whispering, "Mommy, who are they?"
Luo i snapped back to reality, tears streaming down. She hastily wiped them away and gently patted the child’s head to comfort, "Jiajia, be good. Mommy will protect you. They are bad people, trying to snatch you away. Be good, hide in mommy’s arms, and nobody will take you away from ..."
Turning to face them, Luo i said sharply, "All of you, get out! This is my house. If you block my way, I’ll call the police! Get out, all of you!"
The woman’s husband spoke with a cold face, "We’ve already called the police. Whether the child is yours or mine, a paternity test will tell."
"Okay, cut!" Director Duan Yu called out, satisfied. The tension on set instantly eased, and the actors stepped out of character, chatting and laughing with each other.
The convincing performance of this scene was largely thanks to the couple’s contribution.
He Jinxia found out that the couple were professors from the Acting Departnt at Duan Yu’s university. She wondered what ans Duan Yu had used to bring them out of retirent for this special performance.
Acting opposite them invigorated He Jinxia, and she also felt a surge of pressure. This pressure forced her to take her acting more seriously, becoming increasingly emotionally invested in her performance.
Taking advantage of a break, He Jinxia looked around and spotted Mrs. He. She went to have a chat with her.
As she walked in, she noticed her mother’s eyes were slightly red, and she asked nervously, "Mom, why are you crying?"
Mrs. He pressed the corners of her eyes with her hand, slightly embarrassed, "I was just outside watching your performance, and it got so anxious, I was moved to tears when that mother onscreen cried, my heart felt sour."
This is the charm of acting. A good film doesn’t necessarily have the most outstanding plot or the deepest aning, but it surely touches people’s hearts.
He Jinxia smiled proudly, like a child showing off a found treasure, "Mom, did I act well?"
Mrs. He ca back to her senses, and said with relief, "Yes, my girl has grown up, and you act so wonderfully."
Originally, she just wanted to tease Mrs. He and distract her, but now truly complinted by her mother, He Jinxia felt a bit embarrassed.
She modestly said, "Mom, I didn’t perform well enough, those seniors playing the couple outshone , I still have so much to learn from them."
Mrs. He said, "You all did well, very well. Seeing you act so happily makes relieved. My only fear is that you might find acting unhappy."
He Jinxia couldn’t help but brag a little, "Mom, I’ll take acting seriously, I’m aiming for the ’Best Actor’ award!"
Mrs. He indulged He Jinxia unconditionally, agreeing, "You’re going to win them all, both dostic and international awards, and beco a Movie Queen sweeping the board!"
"Movie Queen? Piece of cake. I should aim for a Lifeti Achievent Award!" He Jinxia exaggerated.
Mrs. He said, "Then, you know, get an Oscar, a Grammy, and a Golden Globe, one of each!"
Well, in terms of bragging rights, she still couldn’t outdo her mother, who could effortlessly rattle off all those awards. He Jinxia admitted defeat.
The mother and daughter took turns praising each other until He Jinxia’s face turned red, feeling particularly bashful, still not as collected as her mother.
Especially when the director and the two professors ca over to chat with Mrs. He, she kept praising her, saying how wonderful her performance was, how moving, and kept insisting they should teach Jinxia more to help her improve etc.
To this, He Jinxia could only think to shout out ’aweso’!
Her skill was seriously lacking, she needed to learn much more from her mother, the old hand of the Itinerant World.
At noon, Mrs. He stayed with the crew for lunch, and afterwards, Luo You drove her to Dongting Lake Garden.
This ti, Jinxia didn’t feel sad when they parted; she even felt a bit happy, because she knew that no matter how late she finished filming, there was sobody waiting for her at ho in Imperial City.
The afternoon continued with filming, this ti the scenes involving childcare.
Without being a parent, one doesn’t know the hardship of raising children.
It was just an initial experience, but He Jinxia already felt like the baby was driving her crazy!
Changing diapers, feeding milk, holding the baby while it sleeps, covering it with blankets were all basic operations she had to master.
The little ancestor inexplicably started crying, and it was her responsibility to soothe them. Between singing songs and making funny faces, she went to great lengths for a single smile from the little one. Just when she thought she had succeeded, shortly after, the ancestor started crying again...
