Even with subsidies, the Film Academy couldn’t possibly offer a million to each graduate. A few thousand per graduate was already quite generous, considering the number of graduates each year. The school would go bankrupt in just a few years if they continued like this.

As Luo You squinted slightly, he said, "Moreover, they even guarantee that the movie will be released. It could be just a bunch of rich second-generation kids having so fun."

Lowering her head, Cheng Xiaohua murmured softly, "Though they guarantee a release, what if it ends up being a ’one-day film’?"

Luo You frowned and was about to scold her when He Jinxia spoke up in ti, "Alright, alright, since I’ve already agreed to do it, whether it’s a graduation project or sothing else, I’ll give it my all. I’ll try to finish as soon as possible so it doesn’t delay taking on other films."

Midway through the drive, Luo You suddenly received an unexpected call.

"Hello, oh, it’s President Liu. Hello, President Liu. Ah? You want to et now? Oh, no problem. Jinxia is free, where..."

After hanging up, Luo You twisted his brow, his expression sowhat grave. He found a place to park the car, turned to He Jinxia, and began hesitantly,

"Rember the script I gave you, the one about the lead female character in an ancient drama?"

He Jinxia felt it strange to see Luo You so hesitant.

She thought carefully and nodded, "I rember, it’s a big production expected to air during the New Year holiday next year, targeting the pri ti slot. It has significant investnt, and the script is quite good. You told that you wanted to secure this resource for ."

Luo You said gravely, "Yes, when I gave you the script, I started contacting the person in charge of the production team. Didn’t you say you t soone at the celebration banquet who approached you to talk, nad Liu Mingxiang? I checked his background."

He paused, then continued, "I found out he had invested in that lead female drama, so I reached out to him using your na. Liu Mingxiang has a good impression of you, and my conversation with him went smoothly.

Initially, when I approached the production team, their attitude was indifferent. But after I got in touch with Liu Mingxiang, their attitude towards improved significantly. They even said they would arrange an audition for you soon."

He Jinxia’s eyes narrowed slightly. She always felt things couldn’t be this simple.

Sure enough, Luo You continued, "Liu Mingxiang just called . The audition is the day after tomorrow, and he wants to et you tonight to understand your thoughts on the script."

He Jinxia lowered her gaze, a flicker of darkness crossing her eyes as she asked softly, "Where does he intend to et ?"

Luo You sighed softly, "Supre Bar. This bar has been very popular in Imperial City recently; it’s very private and is owned by a top-tier celebrity."

He Jinxia smiled faintly, and raising her head to look at Luo You, she countered, "It’s not just about discussing the script at the bar, is it? Did he make any other conditions?"

Luo You replied, "He asked that you co alone."

The smile on He Jinxia’s face deepened.

By her side, Cheng Xiaohua finally realized the situation, hurriedly shaking her head, "No way, no way, how can we let Jinxia go to that kind of place alone! If she’s going, I must accompany her!"

Luo You did not speak, just watched He Jinxia steadily, letting her make her own decision.

He Jinxia’s eyes narrowed, swirling with many thoughts that eventually settled into calm.

She opened her mouth, her voice calm yet undeniably strong as she uttered two words: "I won’t go."

In the industry, she did not drink. That was her bottom line.

She understood the need for socializing in interpersonal relationships, to maintain connections and broaden networks, she would willingly attend various dinner parties as long as ti allowed.

Having chosen this career, He Jinxia never put on airs or acted aloof. She considered herself an ordinary person, not a hero nor a so-called saint.

But she would never drink alcohol, a principle she maintained at every dinner party she attended.

Liu Mingxiang’s choice to et at a place like the Supre Bar made it clear that avoiding alcohol would be impossible, especially since he had requested her presence alone...

He Jinxia slightly shook her head, her slender, jade-like fingers tapping gently on her thigh, surprised that soone had already approached her with ulterior motives so soon.

It was difficult to stand out in the circle; every star employed their unique skills as if crossing the sea by their special ans. The unspoken rules nowadays rarely involved coercion, relying more on mutual consent.

He Jinxia hung her head low and tugged at the corner of her mouth, then turned to look out the window, her reflection in the glass showing her eyes cold and detached.

Luo You later made a call to Liu Mingxiang and ca up with an excuse to refuse.

Afterwards, everything was calm, as if nothing had happened. The audition Liu Mingxiang spoke of was not canceled, and He Jinxia arrived on ti at the scheduled location.

Today’s audition was a large-scale one; she saw many actresses and actors, each good-looking and energetic.

Fortunately, He Jinxia did not have to wait long. After sitting in the waiting room for a while, a staff mber called her out for the audition.

A staff mber handed her a small script, which contained the content of the audition and provided one minute to prepare.

The script He Jinxia received required only a few lines; the focus was on conveying emotions.

The scene she was given was one she had recognized from the main script, and she was proficient in her portrayal, unsure if the other actors had received the sa scene.

Once the preparation ti was over, He Jinxia imdiately stood up, pointed at the center stage prop which she imagined as the enemy in the script, stared at it with eyes full of rage, and said with hate,

"Say it, was it you who killed her!"

After waiting a mont, her chest heaved heavily, her eyes reddened, and her fists clenched tightly, "Why, why did you have to kill her! She clearly could, she clearly didn’t have to die..."

As He Jinxia spoke, two tears slowly ran down her cheeks, and she burst into tears at that mont, then bit her lip as the tears wetted her entire eyes.

This scene was so moving that it made the onlookers feel a heartache akin to wanting to cry.

Stunning.

He Jinxia wiped the tears from her face; having cried, she considered the scene complete. Unsure of her performance, she looked up at the judges, who were still staring at her, seemingly stunned.

She cleared her throat, her crisp and pleasant voice breaking the silence, "Director, I’ve finished my performance."

The others snapped out of it, the director’s furrowed brows finally relaxed as he said in a deep voice, "Hmm, you can go back and wait for the news."

He then looked at the staff and instructed them to call in the next person.
