The next day, while Sheng Yan was filming, He Jinxia once again embarked on the promotional journey, flying to another city.

In the following promotions, Li Li did not attend, and the heat surrounding Wu Daxi and Li Li cooled down, everything returned to normal tracks.

He Jinxia occasionally heard news about Li Li from Cheng Xiaohua, and although Li Li didn’t know why she wasn’t promoting with the cast, she would appear on set every three days, spending ti with Wu Daxi.

Apart from running promotions, He Jinxia mostly stayed in her room working out and keeping fit, a healthy hobody with no desire to go out and play.

After all, the dayti promotional tasks were heavy enough; facing the dia’s questions required complete concentration, and by the ti promotions were over, she was too exhausted to do anything but rest.

Even if she could go out, there were only a few hours at night to do so, and staying up late wasn’t an option, making it rather uninteresting.

At that mont, He Jinxia was sitting in her room, flipping through a book, when Cheng Xiaohua opened the door and walked in, holding a box of takeout food and grumbled a bit,

"Li Li ca again, and I’ve almost run into her every day this week, dragging Wu Daxi around, flaunting their relationship excessively."

He Jinxia smiled lightly, her slender, jade-like fingers turning another page of the book, and asked, "Are you complaining that Li Li cos too often, or are you bemoaning your own singlehood?"

Cheng Xiaohua shrugged her shoulders and sighed with a hint of lancholy, "Both, but Li Li has been coming way too frequently!"

She shifted the topic, adopting a gossipy tone, "And whenever she cos, she’d drag Wu Daxi around the set, asking others if they’d like to go out with them in the evening.

Everyone else on set knows they’re a couple, who would want to be a third wheel? Yet, Director Dong’s attitude is quite puzzling. Today I saw her greet Li Li warmly!

This is strange, wasn’t Director Dong not very fond of Li Li before?"

He Jinxia pondered for a mont, contemplation flickering through her eyes, and slowly said, "It might have sothing to do with Li Li’s family."

Cheng Xiaohua was taken aback, only then recalling the dia revelations about Li Li’s family background when Wu Daxi and Li Li’s romance beca public—sothing about her being a billionaire, a rich and beautiful woman... But weren’t those just made up?

Seeing the confusion on Cheng Xiaohua’s face, He Jinxia nodded slightly and said, "Li Li’s family is quite formidable, billionaire might be an exaggeration, but it’s not far off. They run a big business and have connections."

She thought for a bit and decided to share so inside information about the movie with Cheng Xiaohua, so she wouldn’t be oblivious and possibly offend Li Li by accident.

"Relatives of Li Li have invested in this movie, and Dong Qin was displeased that Li Li revealed her relationship during promotions, shifting dia and netizen attention onto her instead of the movie itself, which doesn’t help boost the box office."

Cheng Xiaohua’s eyes lit up with understanding as He Jinxia pointed things out, whispering,

"No wonder Dong Qin’s attitude towards Li Li has changed so much. As I was passing by them, I heard Li Li saying she wanted to go out with Wu Daxi, and Dong Qin even said to have fun, that the night view here is beautiful.

If I hadn’t seen her previously scowling at Li Li, I would have thought Dong Qin never had any grievances against her!"

He Jinxia’s eyes narrowed, a sharp light flashing through them. She set down the book in her hand, opened the takeout box, picked up the chopsticks, and calmly said,

"Director Dong is a filmmaker, as well as a businesswoman; she almost single-handedly funded the movie. Now that the filming is done, her biggest worries are the film’s exposure and the distribution volu in cinemas. Whoever can solve even one of these problems, let alone being amiable on the surface—inviting them for a al wouldn’t be a problem at all."

Cheng Xiaohua nodded, looking enlightened, with thoughts swirling in her mind. She decided to change her attitude the next ti she saw Li Li.

As ti ticked away, He Jinxia was busy every day, falling asleep within five minutes of hitting the bed. Her chat ti with Sheng Yan greatly reduced.

Sotis during video calls with He Jinxia, Sheng Yan couldn’t help feeling sorry for her as she continually rubbed her eyes, urging her to rest earlier.

Superstar Sheng, unable to vent his longing for his girlfriend, silently channeled his frustration into his film shooting. The crew might not have noticed, but Director Li and the actors acting opposite Sheng Yan keenly sensed it—

Sheng Yan seed to be on a roll all of a sudden!

Being on a roll was great; high spirits are even better—this kind of energy could lift the entire cast’s spirits.

Thus, under Director Li’s beaming gaze, the cast beca even more dedicated than before, and the filming progress skyrocketed.

Soon, the special and significant day of May 1st arrived.

The first showing of "Chen Xiaohui, Go Forward!" was at midnight. Dong Qiin hadn’t scheduled any promotional events for the day; she was just waiting for the feedback from the movie theaters on ticket sales and attendance after the 2 a.m. screening.

So people in the entertainnt circle were also following the box office sales of "Chen Xiaohui, Go Forward!" Among them were competitors with releases in the sa period, bystanders from the industry rely curious about the outco, and even those with malicious intent waiting to revel in its failure.

However, all of this had nothing to do with He Jinxia.

While she was the lead actress and the pillar of the movie, her mindset was even more stable than Wu Daxi’s, calm as an aging monk, and more laid-back than the supporting actress Song Zilin.

On that day, she ate when she should, drank when she should, and went to bed on ti.

Seeing her so composed, Cheng Xiaohua wanted to say sothing, but in the end, chose not to. Jinxia’s current state was quite good; any unnecessary words might disturb her tranquility.

A serene and collected star is always better than an anxious and hurried one, isn’t it?

So, after He Jinxia fell asleep, Cheng Xiaohua quietly went to Director Dong’s room to await the results after midnight.

Wu Daxi, Song Zilin, and Li Li, who had already withdrawn from the movie’s promotions, had all gathered in Director Dong’s room. Everyone’s expressions were solemn, and there was little conversation.

Cheng Xiaohua checked Jinxia’s official fan group on her mobile QQ and saw many fans stating their plans to watch the performance of Fat Emperor the mont the tickets were available, proudly sharing pictures of their tickets in the group.

Upon seeing this, Cheng Xiaohua felt a sense of relief. As midnight approached, she closed her eyes and silently prayed in her heart.

The May Day holiday ant a mini-vacation for many, and going to the movies beca one of their entertainnt choices.

If He Jinxia were to disguise herself and stake out a movie theater, she would notice that the midnight showings were dominated not by couples, but by overweight fans!
