The buzz in the WeChat group failed to catch her attention; she returned to the hotel and He Jinxia first took a bath.

Not long after she got out of the bath, she heard the doorbell ring. She responded with a call, asking, "Who is it?"

The person outside didn’t speak.

Jinxia frowned slightly and first secured the chain on the door before opening it.

Through the crack, when she saw the person standing outside, she couldn’t help but freeze for a second, "You..."

Sheng Yan was dressed in black—black face mask, sunglasses, and a black hat, covering himself up tightly.

He lifted the lunch box in his hand, his dark gaze eting He Jinxia’s bright eyes, and he murmured softly, "Food delivery."

He Jinxia blinked and looked down at herself, confused for a mont, then imdiately pretended to be calm and said, "Just wait a mont!"

No sooner had she finished speaking than she slamd the door shut with a "bang."

Sheng Yan, inexplicably left hanging outside the door: "..."

A few minutes later, the door was opened again. He Jinxia had changed out of her bathrobe into regular clothes. Sheng Yan’s gaze darkened, at a loss whether to feel regretful or sothing else.

He Jinxia first poked her head out looking left and right to check the corridor was empty, then quickly pulled Sheng Yan inside and shut the door with a "bang."

Once inside the room, the guest Sheng Yan seed even more at ease than the host He Jinxia. He scanned the interior and then took the initiative to sit in a chair, placing the bag he was carrying on a small table.

The contents of the transparent bag were clear at a glance—several boxed als.

He Jinxia had wanted to ask Sheng Yan if anyone had seen him when he arrived, but seeing how composed he was, she suddenly felt at ease.

Sheng Yan looked up at her, his deep and llow voice slowly pouring out, "Sit."

He Jinxia felt an urge to laugh at his serious deanor, but she stifled the impulse and sat across from him in another chair, asking, "You ca specifically to bring food?"

Sheng Yan watched her, his face softening slightly, "Yeah."

A tranquil atmosphere began to rise in the room. With the man no longer speaking, and He Jinxia not knowing what else to say, she opened the boxed al and began to eat.

She hadn’t had dinner yet and was waiting for Cheng Xiaohua to bring up so food, but Sheng Yan’s al arrived first, like a tily rain.

Unlike the boxed als provided by the crew’s farmhouse, the als that Sheng Yan brought were probably specially made to order; each dish was cooked just right, making it the tastiest boxed al He Jinxia had ever had.

As she ate, a sudden realization flashed through her mind, and she abruptly lifted her head to look at Sheng Yan, asking, "Did you make this?"

Sheng Yan’s deep gaze was fixed on He Jinxia, his eyes hiding a profound affection that made her heart skip a beat faster, instinctively wanting to dodge his gaze.

Just as she began to look away, Sheng Yan’s voice ca softly from beside her, a very faint "Mhm," which was gentle but rippled through her heart.

He Jinxia’s heart tightened, and she felt a warmth flushing her cheeks, daring even less to et Sheng Yan’s gaze.

She held the boxed al up high, nearly covering her face, feeling that the burning gaze was slightly averted.

He Jinxia focused on eating and tried to regulate her breathing; it took a while before her heart cald down, although she still didn’t look up at Sheng Yan.

Indeed, how pathetic—she couldn’t help but scorn herself inwardly.

"Eat slowly, don’t rush, have so water," Sheng Yan’s subdued voice reached her ears, as always elegant and pleasant, as he handed He Jinxia a cup of water.

He Jinxia took the water, still not daring to look up at Sheng Yan, and again ntally berated herself for her lack of poise.

She didn’t want to be like this, but she just...

I couldn’t control myself.

"Is it tasty?" The man’s voice suddenly amplified beside her ear, and He Jinxia shrank back, subconsciously dodging to the side, her movent a bit exaggerated.

Sheng Yan’s eyes darkened, his fingers twitched slightly—had he scared her?

After a mont of contemplation, he stood up decisively and offered his resignation, "Eat slowly, I have to go now because of so work."

He paused before lowering his voice to add, "If you’re not used to the food from the farmhouse restaurant, rember to tell ."

He Jinxia, with her head bowed, responded with a soft "mm-hm," then quietly said, "Be careful on your way back."

The girl’s voice was soft and sticky, fresh yet carrying a hint of moisture, instantly soothing Sheng Yan’s slightly irritated emotions.

Sheng Yan watched the girl with her head lowered, feeling a ticklish sensation in his heart. His fingers by his side moved gently once more, wanting to stroke her head, but he ultimately refrained.

Don’t be too hasty—he cautioned himself inwardly.

His eyes darkened with the thought that if he scared the little fox away, catching her again would be difficult.

His lips moved slightly, wanting to say sothing, but not knowing what to say. In the end, Sheng Yan simply swallowed hard, grunted affirmatively, and turned to leave.

It wasn’t until the room door closed behind him that He Jinxia put down the take-out box in her hands and turned to glance at the door.

She reached out to touch her burning cheeks, knowing without looking in a mirror that they were definitely reddened, and for the third ti, she silently cursed herself for being so weak.

Thinking of sothing, He Jinxia’s lips curled up slightly, and her clear eyes shimred like water, muttering, "What a rogue, and such a clueless one at that..."

After calming down for a while, her mood finally settled, and He Jinxia picked up the take-out box and resud eating.

However, after the calm ca a faint regret, crossing her mind, sothing even she didn’t quite understand.

Elsewhere, Sheng Yan was swiping his card to access the elevator to the top floor.

All the rooms at the top floor of the hotel had been vacated, occupied only by Sheng Yan, his agent, and his bodyguard.

Since it was alti, both the agent and the bodyguard were out dining, leaving the top floor suddenly very quiet.

As Sheng Yan turned a corner, his steps halted when he saw a female celebrity at the front.

She was attentively staring at the door in front of her, pressing the doorbell, oblivious to Sheng Yan’s appearance in the hallway.

Sheng Yan twitched the corners of his mouth, in a gesture that seed half-mocking, half-lancholic, ultimately settling into indifference.

He simply stood there, took out his phone, and made a call to Zhang Ming.

The call was quickly answered amidst so background noise, with Zhang Ming asking, "Hello, what’s up?"

Without any expression, Sheng Yan replied, "I just left my room for a mont, so why is there a woman at my door?"

Zhang Ming’s expression shifted subtly, his playful deanor vanished, and he said solemnly, "It’s my fault for not managing properly. I’ll hurry back to deal with the issue; you can deduct my salary as you please, even firing would be fine."

Sheng Yan’s voice wasn’t deliberately lowered, and in the empty corridor, his unique magnetic tone amplified. Deng Zhaoyan, standing at his door, heard every word and froze.

She turned her head, intending to walk towards Sheng Yan, only to hear his voice coming from the phone in the next second.

He had put it on speaker!

Deng Zhaoyan’s smile stiffened on her face, suddenly struggling to maintain her composure.
