Chapter 655: Chapter 299: Major Family Events III: Night of the Witch (Part 14)_5

The hospital-gown boy looked up at the ceiling, explaining unhurriedly, “The images I enabled you to see, are all mories of you interacting with those now absent on a tiline from the past, it’s just that you have already forgotten…”

He paused, then continued, “The last is the fourth jump, and it’s also your final ti jump…”

“Enough…”

Ke Mingye interrupted him, his tone calm, “I don’t rember any of this at all; no matter the nonsense you spout, it’s useless, and now I understand why you and that monster would stand in the hallway together, it looks like you’re cut from the sa cloth.”

“Of course, you wouldn’t rember,” the boy said emotionlessly, “At the ti, mories from several tilines were overlapping, and your mind was tortured to the brink of collapse, so… before performing that last ti jump, you asked the Spark to erase your mory.”

At this point, the boy paused slightly, “So on this final journey, you’ve forgotten everything, just like you do now.”

“I’m fucking about to be crippled by your bullshit.”

Ke Mingye muttered to himself.

After a mont of silence, he asked, “Since you say my mories were erased, why would they appear in my mind, or rather… why would I logically create them, that’s not reasonable.”

“Your mories were erased, but that doesn’t an they never existed. As long as they existed, they leave so vague ‘impressions,’ and it’s based on these impressions that you subconsciously play them out,” said the hospital-gown boy slowly.

“Until they eventually split out for real, to accompany you in this way forever. Of course, you weren’t aware of this. That’s normal because you think—’they’re all you, they’re just you.'”

He paused, then added, “It’s worth ntioning that in the second tiline, after the Christmas-dress girl, called ‘Xiaohongmao,’ died, you were in a slump for a long ti. Later, despite everything, you tried again, only to find that she had already died of sickness in that remote mountain village, just like in this tiline—back then you nearly went mad, so, I suggest you treasure the ‘Xiaohongmao’ in your mind now.”

“Even if what you say is true, they’re already dead. This is just self-deception.”

Ke Mingye took a deep breath.

He lowered his head slightly, his hanging bangs obscuring his eyes.

“They are dead, but at least you can rember them this way, instead of… just letting them be lost in the river of ti. All those who left have returned to your side, to accompany you in this manner.”

“If I didn’t want to forget in the first place, why would I choose to erase my mories?”

“Because you were about to go mad.”

“Okay, I’ll give you the right to spout nonsense. But not now, I don’t have the ti to entertain you.”

“I know it’s hard for you to accept, but this is the truth… The shadow of the Envious Witch is watching , so for now, I can’t hide any facts from you, whether or not you want to believe them is entirely up to you,” said the hospital-gown boy calmly, glancing back at the female shadow attached to him.

“Why is this the last ti?” Ke Mingye paused, then continued, “You an I can’t ti jump using the ‘Spark’ you ntioned if I fail again?”

“This is the last ti because before you perford your fourth ti jump, the personal will of the ‘Spark’ awoke from its slumber. It no longer let you have your way, instead, it requested a deal with you,” the boy said calmly, “I told you before, your spirit was on the verge of collapse, and because of this, you asked the Spark to erase your mory, but beyond that… Ke Mingye, you made another request.”

“Another request?” Ke Mingye articulated each word.

“Yes,” the boy nodded, “That request was, to bring back those who were deleted by the world, abandoned by the world in the previous tiline changes, to your side.”

He paused: “Sadly, if it really went like that, it would involve countless things, so in the end, the Spark could only fulfill your demand in the current manner—letting them stay as ‘personalities’ in your mind.”

“…What’s the point of that?”

Ke Mingye tried to follow his drivel and, going along with his thinking, asked.

The boy’s expression was blank as he looked down at the book in his hands, and said softly, “That you’ll have to ask yourself because that was once your choice, even though you have forgotten the process of choosing.”

Ke Mingye said nothing.

“No matter what the ultimate result is, I suggest you treasure their existence. Because this ti, it’s very likely to be the last journey of your life.”

Ke Mingye was silent, seemingly overwheld with too much information to digest.

He turned his head to look at the ‘shadow of the Envious Witch’ behind the hospital-gown boy; if it weren’t for this shadow, Ke Mingye would never believe any word he said.

“By the way… I suggest you look at the situation outside,” the boy suddenly said.

“The situation outside?” Ke Mingye was puzzled.

“Yes, the situation outside,” said the boy.

After saying this, the hospital-gown boy closed the book, stood up, and started walking towards the end of the corridor without turning back, his figure gradually being swallowed by the shadows.

“What’s happening outside?”

As Ke Mingye was mumbling, the image on the floating mind map suddenly changed.

The mind map now displayed the scene at the center of Huanjing—entirely black paper figures raised the stage for the Witches’ Night towards the blue sky, bellowing in unison: “Rache (revenge) Rache (revenge) Rache (revenge)—!!!”

Looking at this scene, Ke Mingye was stupefied for a long ti.

“How could this be… they’ve gone to such lengths and still have a fallback?” he wondered, frowning.

Just then, the shadow of the Envious Witch began to slowly detach itself from behind the hospital-gown boy, gliding over the floor like a little ghost.

Ke Mingye took a deep breath, closed the mind map, and looking up at the witch’s shadow said:

“Can you take to Bai Zini, please?”
