Chapter 651: Chapter 299: Major Family Events III: Night of the Witch (Part 14)

In the sky, a stage setup known as “Witch’s Night” was collapsing in its entirety, like the setting sun at dusk, slowly sinking towards the horizon.

At this mont, only the giant cross that bound the Ember Witch and the remaining carriages of the Ti-Space Train were still standing motionless in midair.

From a distance, the Ti-Space Train twisted like a Mobius Strip, shaping into a bizarre ring, resembling a steel-cast ouroboros snake, yet the magical girls stood steadily atop this loop.

Regardless of their position on the ring-shaped train, none showed the slightest tendency to fall.

Xizi Yue stood at the forefront of the train, lifting her gaze, silently staring at the massive cross at the city center. Looking into the howling, tumultuous deep blue storm, one could faintly discern the form of the snow sled if one were to observe carefully.

Although enveloped in a bright aurora, the sled’s existence within the ferocious magic storm seed insignificant—a re firefly flickering in and out of sight, emitting a faint glow in the depths of night.

At this mont, everyone’s gaze was as focused as possible on the firefly navigating through the storm, not allowing their sight to lose track of it.

The one whose heart was the most tense and agitated, naturally, belonged to the Black Judge from the Managent Bureau.

His two closest loved ones were currently in the most dangerous place in the entire city.

If Little Red Riding Hood were to make a wrong move, either Ke Mingye would die, or Bai Zini would die, or…

Both would die together.

Before this very mont, Ke Yinzhi had never felt so powerless: his brother and sister were right there before his eyes, and yet he could only stand by indifferently, awaiting an outco.

Just like a gambler deep in debt, casting the dice that would decide his fate on the gambling table, watching them carelessly tumble with his head covered in cold sweat.

But just a few seconds later, the blizzard within the storm ceased its howling, and then, the arc as clear as the aurora faded away.

Seeing this, everyone’s hearts grew colder by a fraction.

They all knew what this ant…

It ant that the Little Red Riding Hood’s Christmas sled had perished within the maelstrom of the Ember Witch’s magic. Soon after, the blue sky’s canopy, the Christmas night pattern that had been slowly swirling, disappeared like vanishing clouds, the dim aurora dissipated without a trace, leaving behind only the heartbeat-like sounds emanating from the magic cocoon surrounding the cross in one’s ears.

Thump…

Thump… Thump…

The Black Judge stared ahead in a daze, a na escaping his throat in a hoarse whisper:

“Mingye…”

Muttering to himself, dark energy flowed out from his body like a tide, casting patchy shadows in midair, flickering in and out of sight. At this mont, the V-shaped mask displayed an unmistakably dazzling crimson.

But in the next instant, a low shout suddenly ca from above the circular train.

“Look at the cross there,” Qili said, her eyes widening slightly beneath her hat brim.

Hearing this, everyone moved their gaze away from the disintegrating sled and looked up, only to see an extra figure on the cross at the center of the storm, his red and blue battle suit already eroded to re shreds.

Visibly, the heart of the cross was like the only haven from the wind in this grey-blue world. The raging magic around it could not touch it, but was rather blocked from the outside.

So everyone could confirm… Lan Ou was montarily safe.

Xizi Yue gently lifted a strand of hair by her ear, lowered her eyes, her expression unclear whether it was sadness or joy.

Yuffie glanced at Lan Ou, then turned to look at the Black Judge, “He survived.”

The Black Judge remained silent, staring intently at Ke Mingye’s tiny shadow.

“He did it…”

Kokonoe Sakura paused, then murmured to herself.

“Then… what about Little Red Riding Hood?” Liu Huazi softly asked, her tone carrying a slight sob.

Upon hearing this, Kokonoe Sakura silently shook her head. The others beca silent, their faces a mix of complex emotions.

Just then, a loud boom suddenly filled the sky, and everyone looked up to see that before the remnants of the Witch’s Night could fully reach the land, a fragnt of the crumbling ruins broke off and fell first.

The huge chunks made a thunderous noise as they hit the skyscrapers, echoing for a long ti.

Not long ago, paper figures could be seen spinning swiftly at the edge of the stage, hand in hand creating a pale ring. Now, the ring symbolizing truth had wilted, and the paper figures drooped one after another.

They swallowed the chanting of “Erlösung (Redemption)” into their pale insides, and the next second, sothing unexpected happened: the small palm-sized paper figures turned from pure white to deep black, their corners of their mouths stretching to both sides of their cheeks, revealing slowly erging fangs.

Imdiately after, their bodies visibly inflated rapidly, transforming into towering giants hundreds of ters tall.

The next mont, the dark paper giants lifted the teetering stage setup high up, once again elevating it above the Huanjing Tower, reaching the highest point of the city.

As if crowning their emperor.

“Rache——! Rache——! Rache——! Rache——! Rache——! Rache——! (Revenge),” they roared, and the Witch’s Night stage began to undergo dramatic transformation, turning into a giant cocoon.

The sky suddenly changed color, an unfathomable darkness covering the city like a curtain, as if the shadow of so colossal creature covered the sun descended quietly, the frenetic roars of the dark paper figures echoing continuously through the night.
