Chapter 982: Chapter 25: Physicians Cannot Heal Themselves (7)

“——”

It futilely hamred the white wall for several seconds, then lifted its hollow head as if receiving a command. The halo atop the Wind Angel’s head flashed, and millions of plants in the Endless Tree Sea sprang forth, transforming into two gigantic palms that struck at Gongsun Ce in the air.

Gongsun Ce and Sister Zhenfan vanished in midair, flashing with great speed to the top of the Wind Angel. “The attack thod is monotonous, intelligence level is low, and it seems to possess the power of broad-range environntal manipulation…” Gongsun Ce quickly reported his observations, “Sister Zhenfan, tell which part I can attack.”

Sister Zhenfan carefully sensed the breath of life. The fusion of over a hundred thousand humans and trees made detailed perception almost a nightmare, but fortunately, the “feelings” of both parties appeared entirely different in her view; human flesh resembled faint light dots, while wood chanisms were like a multicolored black hole.

“Humans are constantly moving within its body…” Sister Zhenfan concentrated on perceiving, “Strike the center of the top in one second.”

Following her instructions, Gongsun Ce executed a probing telekinetic slash that grazed the Wind Angel’s top, the minor wound quickly healing as expected. Yet at the sa mont the Wind Angel was injured, a sudden anomaly occurred within the chanical State: a forest near the boundary withered instantly, as if its life’s nutrients had been plundered by so predator!

“No, Gongsun Ce!” Sister Zhenfan exclaid, “Its life is in so way connected to the chanical State!”

He realized it without the need for a doctor’s reminder. The state of the Wind Angel seed to have a bizarre connection with the Tree Sea, causing the damage it received to feed back into the environnt. At this mont, it had unexpectedly beco a hot potato, not only requiring them to consider the innocent populace inside the giant but also the potential environntal damage if it were taken down.

Should he use the Nirvana Fla? Gongsun Ce rapidly calculated. If he were to fight using a reborn state of Nirvana Fla, perhaps he could attempt to scorch all the plants in a short ti to rescue the humans, but that remained a risky move…

Was there any other solution? If they could control the totem of Bai Aoli Dadarian, perhaps there would be a way, but the other team sent for an assault had not yet reported success, causing him to feel sowhat worried.

“Deep within the tree heart, follow .”

At the sa mont, Alandia was leading the other two through the secret paths of Hundred Birds City. With the ample ti provided by the Illusion Moon Venerate, the capital’s finest detective easily discovered the secrets hidden by the ancient family. She led the charge with her longsword in hand, with all illusions and traps along the way comfortably dismantled by Shiyu Ling, who covered the rear.

The journey to find the totem proceeded smoothly and sensibly. The private soldiers within the Dadarian family couldn’t stop a Creator Realm Mage of Brahma’s appearance and two experts of Heavenly Return Skill. For this reason, the Dawn Knight remained cautious, for so far, there had been no interception from the Family Head.

“Will Dr. Bai Aoli give up resistance?” Qin Qianbai asked from behind.

“No.” Alandia concluded, “She wants to lure the enemy deeper, or maybe she thinks there’s no need for defense.”

Shiyu Ling was dumbfounded: “What patron has she secured to be this arrogant? Has the Rainbow Winged Lord co personally?”

Alandia did not reply, and as they conversed, they had already reached the end of the tree heart’s secret path. A workbench ford by plants lood before them, and green-haired Bai Aoli Dadarian was standing beneath a giant clock, diligently recording data, surprisingly unguarded against the visitors.

“Please stop imdiately, Bai Aoli Dadarian.”

The Dawn Knight pointed her sword at Bai Aoli’s back, but her sword route suddenly halted. A broad-bladed, silver greatsword descended from above, stabbing into the ground before her, with its cruciform guard just blocking the longsword’s blade. As wood chips flew, a man dressed in black silently appeared, leaning against a wall by the entrance, stepping on the greatsword’s guard with the heel of his shoe.

“Did you ask the gatekeeper before entering?” The man smiled, “This is a private territory of the Dadarian family. If you have no business, please leave.”

The Dawn Knight signaled the two not to act rashly while carefully observing the frivolous man. He wore unmarked black clothing and trousers, topped with a black soft hat. His polished shoes shone like a mirror. A fully covering black mask concealed the man’s face, featuring a grinning monster with thick eyebrows and big eyes, yet it couldn’t hide the man’s sharp gaze like a sword.

“I ca because of the anomaly in the chanical State.” Alandia assud a stance, “Please stop, Dr. Bai Aoli.”

“You know the rules of this field.” The swordsman lifted his foot, “Greet with the mouth, speak with the sword.”

No further words were needed. The Dawn Knight pointed her sword at the swordsman’s throat, who laughed and kicked at the sword tip. The approximately one-ter-nine broad-bladed greatsword was grasped by the man’s single hand, the swords’ silver and white radiance sealing the narrow space tightly.

The corridor they occupied was barely wide enough for two adults to pass, making it nearly a fool’s errand to wield long weapons here, yet the two martial artists’ realms had long placed common sense aside. They used their guards to block each other’s thrusts, employed the sword hilts as blunt instrunts to strike, grasped the sword edges with bare hands, wielding longsword and greatsword as if clubs. The swordsmanship of the Dawn Knight was serene and upright, filled with solemn dignity, while the masked swordsman’s style was eccentric and surprising, like playful teasing, akin to a drunkard’s chaotic punches in a bar, yet it blocked each canonical strike from the renowned schools.

An observing Qin Qianbai tightly gripped the hilt, feeling an odd heat in her palm. “Don’t move, Shiyu Ling.” She squeezed the words through her teeth, yet the woman behind her had already vanished. Witnessing the two at an impasse, Shiyu Ling slowed ti to over a hundredfold. Treading on blue flowers, she appeared behind Dr. Bai Aoli, reaching for the totem in the green-haired doctor’s hand.
